Why I think FOOD SUPPLY SHORTAGE is fundamentally unlikely, yet possible.
Why I think FOOD SUPPLY SHORTAGE is fundamentally unlikely
The reason number one: I believe that the world population is aging especially in the western nations and older people eat less. In other words, in a macro sense, the demand for food should go down, in my opinion.
The reason number two: I believe that we are likely to have a world wide financial crisis and people would have less ability to buy food.
Why I think it is still possible
The reason number one: In my opinion, in a major depression like in the 30’s, the flow of food supply might be disrupted. In other words, I think it’s possible that there might be lots of food, but it might become uneconomical to transport and to market.
The reason number two: I think that some kind of counter measures to the declining demand for food that I think is happening could go too far such as E85 or Y2K type of food shortage hype, and these things could cause a temporary food shortage, in my opinion.

Most cities have only enough
Most cities have only enough goods to last forty-eight hours, many only twenty-four. Just the fear of shortages could cause runs on stores and wipe out supplies.
For decades now our government has stupidly been paying farmers to let their fields grow weeds while more and more food is imported. An embargo would be disastrous. Add to that the incredibly stupid policy of paying premium prices to turn food, most notably corn which is required for beef, poultry and dairy production into expensive, inefficient biofuels, the possibility of food shortages and prices the middle class cannot afford becomes quite real.
Once again, a possible needless crisis precipitated by stupid government policy. Get the government the heck out of business and shut down the useless, expensive USDA. It has totally gone over to the dark side.

Humm...just because I always say "in my opinion", it does
not mean I did not do any research.

if food is going to cost
if food is going to cost more, can't be shipped, and people are eating less, then why would a farmer want to grow food if there is no reward for his labor... at that point he would only grow food for himself.. also there are 6 billion people on this planet.. we may be aging in America but in India and China and elsewhere they have much younger populations.. and people are being born faster then they die! Greed don't take the advice... but its better to be safe then sorry!
as for me and my home, we shall worship the LORD
You are wrong about China's population as
far as I can see. Check it out for yourself.
