Collins Bailey Receives Ron Paul Endorsement

CALLAWAY, Md. (July 22, 2008) -- Collins Bailey, the Republican candidate for Maryland's 5th congressional district has received an endorsement from ten-term Texas Congressman and GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul. Bailey will try to unseat long-time incumbent Democrat Steny Hoyer this November in the 2008 Presidential election. Bailey's campaign noted that Hoyer entered politics when Bailey was just 7 years-old.
The Paul endorsement reads: "Collins Bailey is a man of dignity who stays true to our principles. He has the utmost respect for the rule of law and our Constitution. As a believer in a constitutionally limited federal government, sound monetary policies, civil liberties, and a common sense foreign policy, Collins understands what the real issues are and how they are affecting our country. He has served as an elected member of the Charles County Board of Education. He is currently serving his fourth consecutive four-year term.... Our country needs Collins in Washington. That is why I have given my wholehearted endorsement to Collins Bailey for Congress in Maryland's 5th congressional district."

Hoyer is very vulnerable ... very high negatives in the district
As someone who knows Collins Bailey quite well and who has campaigned with him on numerous occasions, I can assure you, you will never find a more qualified and decent man if you searched for ten years.
As for Hoyer, this guy is as corrupt as they get. He is living proof of the adage "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." If you get a chance, check out this link ( http://www.humanevents.co...) where he is seen breaking House rules to overturn a bill that was to end the practice of giving welfare to illegal immigrants.

The Southern Maryland online continues the msm suggestive subliminal messages within their journalistic tactics. For example Ron Pauls "cult like status" and "Bailey is running at the tail end of a Republican-led administration that popularity polls identify as the least popular presidency since Richard Nixon." This is not news for the people, this is hidden propaganda to put question and doubt about a certain individual, party or candidate.
The positive is, not only is the media recognizing that Ron Paul is an attention getter in the news Bailey also received a small percentage of recognition. So his name is out there. Hopefully people voting will do research on each candidate and decide for themselves without the dabbing interference of the media.
I hope the best for Mr. Bailey and his run for 5th congressional district seat.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that caught these details. It is a poorly written article, and you are spot on in your observations.
However, Mr. Bailey's congressional run is most likely one of the most crucial to the movement, due to who his opponent is, and any media coverage is a positive at this point.
Collins is a good man. I will support and vote for him
I had a chance to talk to him during the march and he seems like a very likeable guy, sensible and a good head on his shoulders. But even more importantly to me, he respects and will defend the constitution. I look forward to actively canvassing for him soon.
