!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOOK! STOP THE BAILOUT ********* URGENT ACTION NEEDED NOW! **********
I made a video asking people to contact their Senators urgently. Please forward the link to everyone in your meetup group and contact list.
Jam the switchboards!
SAMPLE LETTER
Dear Senator *******:
Please do everything you can to defeat the Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac bailout bill. Support the filibuster, and vote against cloture. The bill can be stopped. It MUST be stopped.
The bill is a $800 billion blank check for one man, the Secretary of the Treasury, to use as he pleases to bail out the central banks and hedge funds that hold the GSE paper. Over a trillion dollars of that paper is held by the China central bank. If congress is to do anything to help the so-called "home owners," (mortgage holders, actually), it should relax the bankruptcy rules to allow people to get out from under their crushing burden of debt. The unthinkably huge bill for the bailout will be paid for through the inflation tax, which ravages the middle classes and poor. We must not tax the poor to bail out domestic and foreign bankers.
Like the Patriot Act, this bill is being jammed through congress without proper consideration. Many now recognize what a terrible mistake the Patriot Act was. If Hillary Clinton had not voted for that act and the Iraq Authorization Bill, she would be president in January. If the Fannie/Freddie bill passes, then when it becomes apparent to voters how disastrous it was, the Senators who did not make every attempt to stop it will be held accountable.
I personally will do everything I can to defeat any Senator who does not stand firmly against it through filibuster and voting against cloture.
Best regards,

Not sure if this has been posted yet. If so, my apologies.
I could be wrong, but didn't
this pass today - a special Saturday session?
YES!
YES!
Here is one of my Rep's Response Can I get some help in a reply
Thank you for expressing your views on S. 2636, the Foreclosure Prevention Act of 2008.
As you know, Ohio has been especially hard hit by mortgage problems and we have the highest share of homes in foreclosure of any state in the country. Action is necessary to stem the tide of foreclosures. S. 2636 would give housing finance agencies access to lower cost funds, help struggling businesses by reforming tax policy on losses, and provide funds to state governments to redevelop or raze foreclosed properties. As you mention, it also would amend bankruptcy law, helping individuals with regular income to restructure their debts.
I know that we cannot save the home of every individual faced with foreclosure, but I do think we must do something to help as many honest, hard-working families keep their homes as possible. It is important to note that the bankruptcy provisions would only allow a judge to alter a mortgage to the fair market value and that the provision would only apply to existing loans on owner-occupied houses.
On average, foreclosed homes in Ohio result in a 60% to 65% loss on the total value of the mortgage. Giving greater discretion to bankruptcy judges will not only result in more Ohioans staying in their homes, but may result in reduced losses for lenders as well. In light of the extraordinary breakdown in underwriting standards, I think this is a reasonable response.
I am a cosponsor of S. 2636 and will continue to fight for the passage of this bill. It is an important first step in addressing the housing crisis and helping working families to stay afloat in this time of economic uncertainty.
Thank you again for contacting me.
My true thoughts
We are doomed....this will pass so fast.....just watch.
Our efforts are useless in this regard. (Don't get me wrong.. I am Trying)
The efforts for the future ....if their is one...is all we can work on. Slowly but strongly infiltrate the entire system with Ron Paul type thinkers.
That is all we can do. Keep moving forward up this muddy hill....It will be tough....but I am game.

have got their emails sent! I suppose the Traitors are all counting on everybody being to overwhelmed with the economic conditions that currently exist in our country to give a care about this most important bill before Congress. One good thing about all this the Sheeple are waking up to the Traitorous Acts that have taken place in our country under the Cloak of Anti Terrorism Legislation. I thank you for Patriotic Service in regards to this matter.

I emailed Senator Bill Nelson (FL) today and will call tomorrow!
I had to go to his site, and what I read there, HE HAS TO GO! He supports the REAL ID Act!!!! UGH! That makes me SICK! So I doubt if my letter will even be given any attention, but I'll call anyway.
There was NO mention of the bail out on his web page, so I don't know where he stands on this issue, but I doubt it is with the Constitution, sad to say.
I hold out very little hope for Sen. Martinez, he's one of Jeb Bush's picks, but I will write and call hiim also.
Good man
Who else? Who hasn't contacted their Senators, and why??
I FAX'd
Webb and Warner. I told Warner since I knew he would be retiring soon that I really didn't expect him to honor my request to vote against this bill. I informed Webb that if he voted for this I would join the legions of disgruntled voters who would do everything in our power to remove him from office.
The public is outraged.
I have been sending my Senators links to digg pages and comment sections of newspapers to demonstrate that the public is outraged.
Keep calling and writing. Keep sending emails to all your contacts. Shut down the switchboards.
Any news?
I read something online about the vote happening Friday. Is it still scheduled for Saturday?

Who else has called their Senators today?
Anyone?
I called!
Got put into someone's voicemail.....Twice.
Will start again tomorrow morning but think I will go ahead and send emails and faxes in the meantime. I will NOT be discouraged.
I emailed them today,
and thanked them for cosponsoring the Enumerated Powers Act, and begged them not to vote for this, after all, it isn't Constitutional and would be hypocritical of them to cosponsor the Act and vote for this. I doubt they will listen to me though.
Emailed them last night,
and called them this morning.

I have never begged
I have never begged or bumped my own posts before, but I am getting frustrated with the Paul. The Senate votes Saturday on a $600 billion dollar blank check for Paulsen and crew, and the posts that are getting to the top include stuff about Bill O'Reilly, truthers, Obama, McCain, Einstein and many things that lack urgency.
The Ron Paul video is great, but nowhere in it does he say to contact your Senators. My video, which does do that, currently shows 211 views. Just one or two of you should be able to get that many people to watch it. Send the link to your meetup group.
@#$%^& This is IMPORTANT.

bump away, this is important.
Trolls are all over the place today.
Three Trolls who have not bumped this thread today. "Ironman77, Rhino. Preferred."
They all three talk about how 9/11 hurts Ron Paul and we should stop discussing it then on one hand and that we should stop talking about it. then on the other hand they post their ass off discussing the subject and rarely bump important posts like this for all to see.
Rhino just tried to suck me back in on the latest 9/11 post, I didn't fall for it.
Not that they have ever listened
to anything we have told them yet, but at least can say we tried. They are intent on piling on the debt as fast as they can for the taxpayers to be saddled with. How many more of their private institutions are they going to bail out before it is over.
Why is this not getting bumped?
Doesn't anyone care? The "Active Forum Topics" are full of junk, two days before the Senate is due to give Hank Paulsen a blank check for $800 billion.
I called both of my Senators, and I have composed a letter to email:

URGENT - Senate votes Saturday
The Senate will take this up Saturday. It's being rammed through just like the Patriot Act. What's the hurry?
I called both of my Senators today, demanding that they filibuster. Emails and faxes will follow. We need to SHUT DOWN THE SWITCHBOARDS.
