Scott Horton of antiwar.com has an excellent interview with Pat Buchanan, here:
Pat Buchanan gets 45 minutes to talk about his new book “Hitler, Churchill and the Unnecessary War” and the interview is very easy to follow even if you don’t know much about the chronology of the war. Scott Horton asks intelligent questions and has actually read the book; probably not something Buchanan gets very often.
I like all antiwar interviews and normally wouldn’t bother posting but this one is better than usual and I like PJB.
I will definitely buy the book after listening to this (rather than going to the library). What I thought I knew about the origins of WWII was way off.
For anyone who likes Pat Buchanan or is interested in WWII or knows the basic outline of the war, this is an eyeopener.
It’s REALLY good – you won’t feel you wasted your time on this.

Why should people listen to this interview?
As Scott Horton says this is one of the cherished myths – that WWII was a ‘good war’ and a just cause and THIS IS PART OF THE REASON WARS KEEP HAPPENING NOW – the government keeps dining out on the propaganda and myths and symbols of WWII.
Destroy these myths and things will change fast.
I thought Hitler invaded Poland and so the war started- so the premise of this book is quite shocking. Prepare to be appalled.
So if you watched ‘Saving Private Ryan’ without mixed feelings – listen to this! Or send it to people you know – the whole edifice of statism has to be dismantled one piece at a time and this is a pretty big piece imo.
I’ve been reading about the battle of Agincourt all from the point of view of ‘our side’ ie the English King – and all I can think now is the real story is the nameless faceless French people whose cattle is stolen, whose houses are burned not just by the English but by their own King!! I know Marxists talk like this but they want to do looting of their own so it’s obviously crap. There needs to be more real revisionist history from the point of view of 'our side' ie people who mind their own business.
How fast your ideas can change.

I heard him in an interview a couple months ago. He really opened my eyes about WWII. Makes you realize our leaders doing this is nothing new.

Scott Horton conducted one of the most comfortable and intelligent interviews I can recall.
Pat Buchanan was tremendously clear, knowledgable and cogent.

I'm going to eventually read PJB's book to brush up on my history.

Pat Buchanan has given us a real weapon in the RPR with this book.
The more I read, the more I see the things the government takes credit for doing are mostly based on TOTAL bullshit, rather than half-BS.
