Once a travel agent, always a travel agent. I booked my room in Stillwater months ago, but I am still hoping to find something closer to all the action. Rooms are opening up starting at $50.00 per night. You can go to www.cheaptickets.com or www.orbitz.com or www.expedia.com. Hotels release rooms 30 days out if not under deposit with names. The next few days should show more availability. There is availability in quite a few areas, so don't give up just yet. The rates I found were less than the rooms held by the Rally. The RNC has had almost every hotel room blocked for months, but if they didn;t have the response they expected (which I suspect), lots of rooms will go on the block. It takes a little work, but I am sure there will be rooms for everyone!

I have a room reserved, but it's at least 20 miles away from downtown (according to Google maps). I'd be interested in finding something closer if I can. I'll try your advice and check back every few days with the downtown hotels. Thanks!
I tried several different days and all were "sold out." This may change, but if you're going, make arrangements now if you can. Maybe Meet-ups in the area can help out, too.
There is lodging information on the Campaign for Liberty's web page. They have information for hotels, RV parks, and campgrounds. It appears that they have reserved blocs of hotels room until August 1. The URL to the web page is: http://rally.campaignforl...
Also, don't forget that tickets to the training session (August 31; $60; first 550 people) and the rally (September 2; $17.76; first 20,000 people :D ) go on sale this Friday.
You MUST ask for the "Campaign for Liberty Block" (otherwise, you'll be told they're sold out.); i.e.: CALL the phone #'s provided! http://rally.campaignforl...
Hey it looks like I might end up doing the same thing. I did that in D.C. and it wasn't pretty [very sweaty & dirty actually] so I was hoping to get a room this time around... I'm down to go half on a hotel!
It's on the list
only 9 miles from the concert Americinn I think 400$ for 3 days. Book in on line though or they will charge you more because of the convention.

When I pulled up that link
It does not say anything about Ron Paul; it says Faith Action meetup. After reading further I see it is made up of 3 Ron Paul supporters.
here is the list provided by C4L
