Ron Paul wanted to appeal to die hard republicans. How do you that? You say: "There you go. There's your nominee. Party Unity. Enjoy."

The die hard republicans smile for a minute before the horrible realisation dawns that their nominee will lose the election. Of course, if Ron Paul was nominated they would actually stand a chance of winning.

A last minute "upset" or "revolt" wouldn't surprise me. But it is by no means guaranteed.
