I can name 100 excuses why I probably should NOT go, if I were to look at this solely from a rational decision making process. I need to take 3 days off work, I need to spend $1,000 to travel from Alaska, etc.

Other stumbling blocks for others include the high price of fuel, children are in school, driving distance and time requirement.

I wish we would have sold out that arena within hours, personally. But because we are a nationwide group, converging on one location, I can appreciate the difficulty with which many are dealing, trying to go.

I almost decided not to go, myself. And then i went with my heart instead of with my head, because I knew in my heart that the sacrifices needed to go would be a good investment, and if nothing else, would offer me the needed closure to all of my involvement with the Ron Paul campaign for the last year and a half.

The TicketMaster "Convenience Fee" and "Service Charge" and state sales tax add another $12 to the price!

Now if only it were more clear why the "convenience fee" is not actually the same thing as the "service charge", I'd be all set. Does TicketMaster offer an INconvenient way to buy tickets?

If I owned a Convenience Store, could I charge a convenience fee on all goods, but also offer an INconvenience discount for cheap customers?

or is TicketMaster just gouging us?

Have you opened up your car door to others. There are many people out there that want to go but need a ride and are willing to share the expenses. I rented the minivan and sent a email to the local Ron Paul Meet up and asked who wants to go to D.C. I broke down the expenses between 6 people sharing gas, minivan rental, and sharing hotel 3 to a room. It was $155 and they jumped all over it. Filled my van up fast. We had a great time going to D.C and hanging out with each other.
This time I have 2 minivans. Those that traveled with me to D.C had a great road trip and saved lots of money by splitting things 6 ways. They are going again with me to Minneapolis (10 of us with2 more spots to fill the 2nd van). I sent a letter to the meet up indicating that I had 2 spots available and received 5 responses. First come first serve. We split everything. Cost from Florida= under $270 (for 10 people) and even less if there are 12 of us because gas is getting cheaper.

So find a way to help your fellow patriots get up there and increase our attendance. Also for the D.C trip I met or talked to the people first over the phone or in person to see what kind of person they are and took partial payments. Day of trip, collected all balances before hitting the road. Those that didn't like to travel with too much cash, and wanted to use credit cards to pay for Gas, paid first. All those who paid with cash, gave me their money ($75 each) before entering the vehicle. Everything worked out great!!!!!! I ended up giving some money back because the gas ended being $58/person. Budget well.
