a bump for this

Hey Evan, sorry I have not had the chance to send out my next $500.00. I will do so tomorrow, I have not had enough time to breathe this past week. I will have it out in the mail tomorrow. Keep up the great work.

I think Texas

is covered for delegates, but we need to cover the alternates. We have 140 delegates and therefore, 140 alternates. Last update was $3000 and we need to get to $5600.

Here are the delegate counts. Some states are really behind. I'm looking forward to the next update on the income figures.

Error Fixed, Video Re-Posted!

Hello Liberty Lovers!

We fixed the typo error, and unfortunately had to remove the old video to put up a new one; we couldn't have the old link work for the new video.

Here is the new link: http://www.youtube.com/wa....

And please note: The last minute is an ad for the project to encourage donations so we can also afford to send a second DVD. That part will not be in the actual DVDs going to delegates--it's for you!

Yes we did -- It will be fixed in time!

Yes, the typo is embarrassing. We will have it fixed soon.

We will make sure to send the final video sections all to proofreaders before going to manufacturing.

Typos happen, but they shouldn't here.

Wow, totally right

I just checked some comments below, and I realized they are totally on the ball about ethnic diversity. Don't forget when they tried to paint Ron Paul like some kind of racist. You need to get all ethnicity's involved on this intro to let them know we are from all races, etc. Good catch down below.

good points Tog

My opinion on this is that it seems too much like a pitch for

contributions to the site. I don't think it is a good idea to ask people for money, when we are trying just to pursuade their vote. I agree with one poster below that I think Ron Paul is put out way too quick. I like the beginning with the people speaking, but I think it moves too fast for the kill after that. I think something along the lines of posting the way Ron Paul has voted on legislation in the past without saying his name. Something like our candidate has voted like this, and like this, and like this. Then ask them a question like, does this person hold the same values you believe in and is this the kind of person you would like to see running the U.S.A. ? If so we would like to introduce you to a man we have been working hard for for about two years now. Someone you may have never heard of that we would like to familiarize you with, someone that you can still vote for to bring this country back to it's core values, and the principles in which it was founded on. The Constitution of The United States of America. I think something like this would be more effective. If we just throw Ron Paul at them without telling them what he is about, that may end it right there. Don't forget these people have been fed a negative image of Ron Paul, and if they can't learn about him before seeing his name, it may end the video right then and there. We need to educate them before we try to persuade them. Educate them on his values and his voting record, and then educate them on who this person is. Definitely have to drop asking for donations, hopefully we who already know who Ron Paul is and support him can handle that part.

First Part is Teaser Footage from DVD -- 2nd Part is Ad for You

Hello All

The first part of that video is just from the beginning of our first DVD for delegates. The last minute of this footage will not be in the DVD like that--it is merely a fundraising ad for you, our supporters.

Thanks to all of you, we've brought in enough for the first DVD production and mailing and now are working on the second one.

Given that we have only two more weeks to be getting the second one to manufacturing, fundraising is a necessary responsibility.

Inspiring but...

OK - the beginning is really good, but I think you need a lot more people.

what happens after the trailer? Are these the guys making the video? I'm concerned, the audio and blimp shots are way rookie and wont help us at all. This needs to be done by professionals

I also think asking for 20 minutes is a lot of anyone, this message needs to be very effective, fortunately, it can be consolidated into a very short, powerful explosion that will leave them charged up just like that first time we all saw him.

Please edit out the BLIMP. Here is why

When the video says, that delegates can vote someone else, the RP blimp image appears. That gives TWO confusing messages. See Ron Paul and Can vote for someone other than McCain.

You should FIRST drill into their collective minds the first message, that they can vote for some one else. This is a point that needs to be driven home first, very convincingly.

Once that point is driven home, talk about their responsibility to THINK through all the issues, better than what the voter did back home. As party members, they have the responsibility to do the real digging on Candidates. If not, why not just have a direct democracy? The founders did not wish for that, they wanted a republic. So delegates must consider all ...so throw up the faces of Mitt and Huck and Ron Paul.

Then, go through what "conservatives believe" and "where America needs to go", and what problems are "before her".

After that, "take an unbiased look" at Mitt, Huck, and Dr. Paul.

Then go back into the Crises ahead.

Then of course narrow it down to "Only Dr. Paul" has the economic experience, the wisdom, the conservative principles. For those looking for change, Dr Paul is better that Obama.

In Peace & Liberty,

Treg

PS.... Who is that young 20 something girl? She has got the right voice for this, use her more.

I think they jumped the gun way to fast on

the Ron Paul pump with the blimp shot. To do that so early on is an instant "eject and trash" in many pro McCainers eyes.

I second that! You describe

I second that!

You describe the problem perfectly...that is exactly what I thought as I watched this. I also thought they should add some very conservative looking mom & pop parental looking people, some business men/women types in suits, perhaps some blue collar contractor types, military guy with crew cut, police officer, etc. I was also distracted by the girl with her hair in her face - she wasn't persuading me because I kept thinking she should have styled her hair differently.

It needs some work, but its an awesome project and will likely be an excellent tool when they polish it up.

I think it's very good

I would only cut out some of the sound bites. These can be effective but if too many are used, it can have the opposite effect and make one lose interest - so maybe try and condense that part a little. Other than that I thought it was great and especially love the picture you used of Dr. Paul at the end. I also noticed the typo but I think this has already been handled. Good job!

Texas

$3000, nice job. How much further do we have to go???

Nice job..

Hope is on the way!
http://www.youtube.com/wa...

The first thing I noticed

was the misspelling of "integrity". That alone would turn me off if I were a delegate. I would be happy to proofread the final product before it's sent, if you don't already have someone to do so.

Also, this has motivated me to donate. I am not able to match SIERRA's challenge, but will give what I can. Thank you for your hard work!

Then by all means please do

Then by all means please do sign up and volunteer your time. These types of small errors can easily be nipped in the bud by a large group of dedicated people making even very small individual contributions. What's the old saying... "many hands make for light work"?

well,

that is a typo, not a misspelling. Misspellings really get me, but typos are just bad.

Please make the case

that this election is about voting for globalism and losing all country boundaries and being ruled by an unelected government OR keeping our country's sovereignty, elections and being good neighbors to other sovereign countries.

This case needs to be made loud and clear. Let the people KNOW what they are voting FOR.

Actually, our government is no longer elected. It is chosen, and then incumbents stay in because of all the rules and media. This case also must be made.

You have ONE chance here. You have to lay it out COLD.

excellent point - a very

excellent point - a very important message to get across.

typo

Please correct the spelling for INTEGRITY.

I didn't like the intro.

Too much jumping around to different faces. The message gets lost. You need to sell the delegates right off the bat on how important it is for them to watch the DVD or they will consider it a waste of time. You do not have a captive audience here. You have a brief window of opportunity in which to hook them, draw them in, before they hit the eject button. That intro fails in my opinion.

Most people are hooked up on sound bites.

No more than 5 seconds, per face, or people lose interest. Main stream media outlets jump around close to this two second jump frame. The creators of this DVD know that. I am glad you're not directing it. I think the beginning serves it's purpose well. It give you a cross reference of young and old male and female and the frame referencing starts your alpha wave brain pattern almost immediately if you watch TV 24/7. But as always opinion is appreciated. =]

I liked the faces of all ages and backgrounds...

I hope these suggestions will be helpful and constructive.

I love the intro, but I sure hope it doesn't go right from there into the "unbinding delegates" bit. Here's the trajectory I'd like to see for the video:

(1) Intro as it is, up to the picture of the blimp.

(2) Old footage of Goldwater's "extremism in the defense of liberty" speech, and narration about the emergence of the libertarian conservatives in the GOP, different from the country club Republicans who didn't mind big government as long as it favored their businesses, and from the bigots (now much fewer in number) who wanted government to keep minorities "in their place." Live and let live, do unto others, etc.

(3) Some stuff on the Reagan revolution, ending with regret that his administration failed to implement the policies it campaigned on, despite his best efforts. Reagan's comment that the soul of conservatism is libertarian.

(4) How the Contract with America gave new hope to conservative Americans, only to disappoint them in the end.

(5) Dubya's campaign planks of sound budgeting and humble foreign policy.

(6) What happened? The more Republicans talk about limited government, the worse the reality ends up! Thanks to inflation by the Fed, the dollar is worth only 4% of its 1913 value, and is failing rapidly. A policy of easy credit has lured Americans into very risky, highly leveraged investments -- and now the housing market is getting wiped out, with stocks not far behind. Prices seem sky-high, but in what used to be called "real money" -- gold -- they're basically the same as ever. But if the Dow was pegged to gold, you'd see that it's lost 73% of its value in the past 7 1/2 years. They say the national debt is over $9 trillion -- but the Bush Administration has added better than half that amount in just the past year. Now the head of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank tells us that the off-budget "unfunded mandates" Social Security and Medicare amount to $99 trillion -- about $1.3 million for each family of four. Yes, government's answer to every problem has been to spend more money it doesn't have, either creating it out of thin air or borrowing it from China and other countries. How did we get into this mess, and where were the warnings?

(7) Old video of Ron Paul warning Congress of the unavoidable consequences of the policies it was bent on implementing. Explaining why the Fed will eventually kill our currency and that, along with the spendthrift attitude of politicians, will destroy our economy. It's like hearing Goldwater and Reagan once again!

(8) Ron's support of Reagan early on, his steadfast adherence to truly conservative principles, grounded in his loyalty to the Constitution, his love of liberty, and his grasp of Austrian economics.

(9) So, let's see ... at the end of the GOP primary season it was down to just two guys. One had been accurately predicting the messes we're now in for some 20 years, and arguing tirelessly against going there. And the GOP is going to nominate ... the other guy.

(10) Why? Are Republican's really excited about their prospective nominee? Hah! Many remember how McCain was long the most hated member of Congress among Republicans, who considered him a liberal traitor to the party. Now we can see that his real constituency was the "mainstream" media, and how they helped his primary campaign. We can also see how weak he is as a candidate, doomed to lose the election if nominated.

(11) Is there ANY excitement out in GOPland? Ron Paul videos.

(12) Why do people love Ron? For being right, for being uncompromising in his principles, for being transparently honest and moral, for walking the walk over decades, and for being the kind of man you'd be REALLY proud to have as your president.

(13) Is 2008 the GOP's "I coulda had a V8!" moment? (Pardon the old reference to the head-slapping commercial showing buyer's remorse.) Will they sit and watch as McCain is nominated, only to crash and burn in the general election? Will the GOP commit suicide by McCain? Or can they save their party?

(14) Little-known facts about the powers of delegates and the history of conventions. The difference between republics and democracies, and the tradition of electing representatives for their good judgment, not their willingness to follow marching orders. State party rules and the rights and powers of delegates. Apart from the nomination, ways delegates can reform their party in convention.

(15) Travails of Ron Paul Republicans who seek to become delegates and do what they can to reform the party, all within its rules. Dirty tricks by party hacks. Who represents the kind of GOP YOU want to belong to -- honest reformers or backroom pols?

(16) Your options as a delegate who is sick of a failed GOP and wants to bring back its traditional principles.

... or something like that. That's just off the top of my head, and I'm sure others can refine it.

May heaven forgive me for sounding PC, but a little more

ethnic diversity in the video/sound bites wouldn't hurt either.

Amen

Where are the smart "ethnically diverse" people. I want them from and center. Very important.

People

Well we don't have quota system. What happened is that we did have a more ethnically diverse submission of snippets for that section, but only one of these volunteer videographers was professional--the other footage sound and lighting quality was not up to our editor's standards (even though there were a lot of awesome folks!). He lives in Idaho, where all those people were. Idaho happens to be not very diverse in these ethnic terms. That just the way it worked out with an all volunteer cast.

As Ron Paul states, this is about individual rights, not group rights. We appreciate all the individuals who participated and now do not have time to re-shoot that sequence.

At least we can fix the typo.

It appears that funding for

It appears that funding for this project is currently around 39% (as of July 24th). I got that percentage from the amount raised so far as listed on the right side of http://www.dvds4delegates... and the stated $20 to reach each delegate x 4600 delegates ($92,000 total needed).

Looks like the project is not far off from achieving 100% funding.

In my opinion, I believe it would be helpful to have some sort of readily available chart that is updated as the project gets closer and closer to the fundraising goal.

Also, here is a fundraising idea: rather than having donations only, why not enable people to "sponsor" a delegate and in the process purchase these 4 DVDs for themselves as well? If a $20 donation would get the 4 DVDs to a single delegate then maybe a $40 donation would cover the 4 DVDs going to a delegate as well as to the donor also. $10 per DVD seems like a fair price with the fringe benefit that the purchase covers the cost for a delegate as well. There may be enough curious people out there who will purchase the DVDs just so they can see the videos that are being sent out to the delegates. Anyhow, thought I might mention that idea...

There is a chart

that shows the income for each state behind the "Donate" tab on the main page. I'm about to go see how Texas is coming along. Hope it is over the $1000 mark by now.
