Why are there tickets left?

I was convinced, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the "Rally For The Republic" would sell out fast. Anyone have any idea what the hold up is? Lack of funds, not enough advertisemnet?, Too far? Poor entertainment line up? Any ideas?

Our meetup group is taking up a collection to help people pay for the trip. Every meetup group needs to do this. Find a couple of people in your meetup that wants to go and help them pay for it.
school teachers
It is difficult for me to get off work in the first week of sept. plain and simple. Finances are not a problem. I mean I wish it wasn't as much as it would be, but money and excitement are not the reason at all.
I'm going with a school
I'm going with a school teacher. She has to work Wednesday, so we will be driving home late Tuesday night. We both live in Iowa, so this will not be a problem.
because it's no fun
I met so many people who heard about our president and like him because he's opposing wars. Anything esle... they are just too dumb to understand.
Of course there are many that can't afford the trip or travel far, could lose their jobs etc.

I don't think ticket prices are holding anyone from going -
I would think other reasons might.
However, those of you who grew up in late sixties / early seventies -
remember a little rally we had called Woodstock -
People just went there because the HAD to be there -
most didn't think about logistics - (bottom line - this way bigger
than Woodstock) in meaning and message - not talking about numbers.
Hope everyone will get to MN because they HAVE to be there!

The Woodstock event just unfolded by people having confidence that they would assist each other through brotherly love. I hope the big announcement of the next performer to commit will tickle people's need to be there.

driving...
...is actually cheaper than flying for an average of four people driving from Texas to Minneapolis, 4-6 hours each...With two nights in a hotel in Minn., divided by four people, we are each paying MAX $200. Realistically, it will be less than that. It just depends on how much shopping I do :)

Simple. Money.
I live 1500 miles away, driving is not an option. Flying and hotels will cost me a little over $1000, something I was more than willing to spend. Then my wife had to take an emergency trip overseas. I was still willing. Then we got hit by Hurricane Dolly and need to make repairs. Still willing, Then I got a visit by the taxman. It was one hit to many for the month and to go to Minneapolis would require me to use my credit card, something the Revolution has convinced me to not do unless absolutely necessary.
I'll be donating, buying commemorative tickets, and doing what I can to show support but I can't justify the trip to add one face to the crowd, especially when I don't even like concerts and crowds.

And the travel is the thing for me. I wish I lived somewhere in the region so I could go. I wouldn't miss it if it were a 5 hour drive or less.
I am excited for the event anyhow.

I honestly believe it's ticket master's fee to rape you while you buy your ticket from them. I bought 2 anyway and will not be going but my brother in law and Family live in Minnesota so I know they will use the tix. You watch there will be people turned away at the door.

you are right. I know I was caught unaware that tickets would be purchased through Ticketmaster. I don't recall seeing anything about Ticketmaster in the hype leading up to the sale date. Maybe I wasn't paying attention.
Perhaps someone would buy up a large block of tickets to resell, for purchases at par, using PayPal, credit card, etc. I don't even know if a person or entity is allowed to do that. Anyway, it might have positive sales results to people like myself that don't care for Ticketmaster.

so don't get mad at me for my thoughts on this. I am sponsoring someone to go in my place because I sometimes have trouble walking. That said, here are my thoughts. Dr. Paul bless his heart is trying to walk a tight rope. How can he rally people without frightening them to the fact we are already in a police state. Are we PRETENDING that we can turn this around when the rally is 10 miles away from the convention. He is a Republican candidate and NOT EVEN allowed to speak or show up. We are Republicans and NOT WELCOME because we believe in SMALL government. People ridiculed because they want a INDEPENDENT investigation of 911. Say Constitution and get investigated. Cheney talked about killing American soldiers dressed as Iranians to provoke a war. Oh, well don't get upset might get in trouble. Our feet are in cement and it is harding when do we get upset? I hope and pray it is a HUGE success but it seemed like it was planned deliberately to fail because there was no thought given to the supporters and their challenges to get there. I feel down, sorry.

but remember, Dr. Paul is an optimist at heart. He still thinks this great country can be saved.
I will say that I have a vision of who you are. Probably not realistic, but believe it or not, I spent a moment meditating on your post.

Weekend...
For me, I was disappointed that the program was scheduled for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. With school this just is next to impossible to make work. Doing the program over the weekend would probably make it easier for quite a few people. But then again, maybe it's just me.

Give 'em time
It takes time to see what is happening in one's life, get it shoved around, make arrangements for kids, etc. If gasoline keeps coming down, that will also help. Need to get closer so they feel like the world is not going to implode before they know for sure.

10% of the people who signed up for CFL
have bought tickets. That is still a higher number than what is typical. Normally about 2% do the work so I am good with our numbers at 10%! That's 5 times the number of people willing to make the sacrifice, willing to make the drive, willing to put their dogs in bording, willing to drive all night, willing to carpool, willing to sacrifice their vadation time, willing to pay crazy gas prices willing to fight, learn and change our nation.
A long time ago when I was against the gays and heavly embroiled in the southern baptist church I learned that 11% of the gays were making changes, they were lobbying, fighting for equal rights and winning, getting health insurance on family plans. This wasn't 11% of the nation, this was 11% of the gay population. Of course that appauled me of the progress they were making, but it did tell me that a few can make a difference.
Now that I am away from the church I hope the gays get all the rights we have, they are people too but thats not the point! The point is we are at 10% we can bring about change if we are willing to fight a good fight!
Don't get sidetracked and beat me up for loving the gays, I love the abortionists, the murderers, the (okay I don't love the pedifiles), but I do love people and acts are not people.

:) I still ca'nt believe I'm Getting on an airplane, getting a hotel room. renting a car, leaving my babies,(dogs, horses,and cats) I've never been to a different time zone before, Never been out of state hardly. Well went to disneyworld with my family 33yrs ago. I'm in Va. What a trip. Literally!

I don't go anywhere unless I absolutely have too. I get to work from home most days and on days I actually do go I can't wait to get home. This is way out of my comfort zone.
But at the same time I can't wait, I am so excited. I am concerned though that people are expecting more than what I think is going to happen. People are still holding onto the idea that HE will be president. I don't feel in my spirit that this will be the outcome. I feel like Ron Paul will encourage us to take this fight further than he ever could and that his future roll will be advisory to those of us who run for office in our local, state and federal offices.
Like I said before - I have my marching orders. This a celebration and an educational opportunity for me!

For all of those who may be financially challenged, please sign up for THE Rally for the Republic Official Travel meetup group anyway to see if there is anything that can be done to get you to the rally in Minneapolis on Sept. 2nd.
I for one am willing to help, if necessary, my fellow Revolutionary Patriots to make the Rally for the Republic a HUGE success. TOGETHER we can make this thing happen! Do not despair!

There might be people out there with the following attitude:
1. Ron Paul's not running for president anymore, so the story is over
2. a group of people who don't get that must be off their rockers
3. the federal government does some awful things to groups of people who are off their rocker...think Waco seige, etc

Here is your problem in the long run - you can write me off as blind to the "truth" and discount me but eventually you will need to CONVERT people to your message. Not caring what other people's perspectives are (i.e. "I don't give a flying rats ass") is counterproductive for you in the long run.
So, cling to your "truth", rebuke all who disagree, and see what happens in November. Keep it up and you all will suck just enough votes away from McCain by voting for Paul or Barr to hand the country to the Democrats. Then, ma'am, a new group will be in power and wont give a flying rat's ass what you think!

Thing is..... speaking for myself only...I'll be at the Rally because I believe these principles. I see with my own eyes the tyranny that's upon us.
I feel in my own wallet what the Federal Reserve and Monetary & Banking sytem is doing to us.
I have felt what it feels like to understand in the blink of an eye what loss of freedom looks & feels like for myself. Others will too. I'm not special in any way... just an ordinary American who loves my country and wants it back bad enough to fight for it.

I am considering not buying
I am considering not buying a ticket because I am pissed that a $17.76 dollar ticket is going to cost me $29.64 and I already bought my plane ticket and hotel. With the convienice fee it comes to $24 then at the end they add on a processing fee- I am just so put off by this, did aanyone pay less then the total that I got- if so how did you do it?? I heard $25 total from some people - is that true?

Quit living in scarcity as obviously this ticket "charge" thing is common practice. They are providing a service and it is the cost of doing business - period.
