Dear Bob,
You say you have changed your mind. Well... sorry dude, I'm sure we can find someone else who has the philosophical base many years more studied than yours. Someone who understand the finer details and knows that we don't compromise our integrity.
Even if you have good intentions, I don't expect you to understand those little things that makes us constitutionlists, as you just learned about the message. Keep on reading LewRockwell.com, buy a few books, and re-read the constitution and then we will see in 2048.
And what is that about you hanging out with Al Gore and saying that "global warming" is real and that it needs government intervention?
Dude, I just don't trust you. I would rather leave my children alone with Dick Cheney at the Bohemian Grove overnight on the night of the sacrifice to Moloch, than to trust you with my constitution. With your CIA background and voting record you are better qualified to work for the nice people over at Blackwater than to be president of this nation.
Respectfully yours,
Boris in Miami

Barr Supporter
I support him but urge others to stop posting here about him. Maybe something once a day that is it. The people who hate Barr here then go and bash him on other sites around the internet.
We need to leave the people here alone or they will work against us. I come here for Ron Paul news and do not expect to find out about Bar here. That is not good for both sides. We are really on the same side just battling on here is not needed.
I see the anti Barr people as much more uncivil and we will not win them over but cause more problems.

Barr supporters turned me off from Barr
First off, great post. I laughed out loud.
Secondly, this is very true. Did Barr at his age just now realize there is a NWO plot? Did he just now realize his unconstitutional voting record? If he did then more power to but not to be president. He should go back into congress and help Ron Paul.
And lastly, at first, I was very happy to hear barr won the libertarian ticket. And I admit I supported his campaign for about a minute... just giving him the benefit of the doubt. But with the way his supporters trolled this forum (and they did and do troll) I was completely disgusted and looked at his motives and record and current positions with more and more scrutiny and came to the conclusion that he cannot be trusted.... not entirely and not yet. He has proved to a neo-con before... he needs to prove that his now more libertarian with his actions not just lip service.

Bingo!!! I don't think they realize how much damage they've actually done.
When election time came around, if I hadn't heard really much of anything about Barr, I would probably WOULD have pulled the switch for him. Just knowing that The Libertarian party was somewhat close to my views.
But now, these people have made themselves a wonderful nuisance. And in the beginning it's a small nuisance, but it's enough for me to start googling.
So I google "Libertarians" and "Ron Paul"...cause naturally I want to know what the commonalities are.
And I find nothing but article upon article of Libertarians trashing Paul. These articles all date from late 2007, and early 2008.
Now you seem them all trumpeting Barr.
That crap doesn't sit well with me. Then to have the stones to come onto a Ron Paul forum....
meh.

The real reason there is a
The real reason there is a "lack of civility" toward Barr in this Forum is because of the posts from his supporters in this Forum.
Barr adherents started carpet-bombing this Forum with their posts and commentary at the end of May, hours after Barr got the nomination. They are aggressive in promotion of their agenda and they start as many flame wars as they receive. Generally more, because reacting with fury at someone questioning Barr's sincerity or his highly questionable Congressional voting record, is disruptive behavior in the extreme. It is not our fault that Bob Barr voted for the Patriot Act, and is therefore mistrusted by constitutionalists and libertarians. An intelligent Barr supporter would acknowledge that criticism with some humility, instead of attempting to 'spin' it and responding with a counterattack.
Then there the posts where Barr supporters tell those interested in writing in Ron Paul they are 'wasting their vote'--and the Barr adherents react defensively when that comment is quite naturally met with anger on a forum named "The Daily Paul" that has a large handsome photo of Ron Paul smiling on its frontpage.
Oh, and FYI...regarding the Forum Guidelines:
(1) Calling someone "ignorant" or calling their statements "idiocy" constitutes a personal attack--and is against the guidelines of this Forum.
(2) Calling for members to be banned because they posted something you don't like represents conduct Dr. Paul himself wouldn't say or wouldn't approve of...and is therefore against the posting guidelines of this Forum.
(3) Telling people who intend to vote for Ron Paul they are "wasting their time" constitutes writing material that reflects badly on Dr. Paul's campaign...and is against the posting guidelines of this Forum.
(4) Calling people out by name and giving them a verbal tongue-lashing in cyberspace is engaging in flame wars...and is against the posting guidelines of this Forum.
Just my .02 on the "rulebook". Although the only person whose opinion actually matters regarding the rules is Michael Nystrom.

This is the thanks that Bob Barr gets after introducing Dr. Paul as the "gold standard of conservatism" at CPAC?
Why can't we just be civil?
I mean really...
Compare his record in Congress to Obomba and McCCCP
I think this is more like "thanks" for voting for unconstitutional legislation like the "Patriot" Act and unending, framed-up, engineered "war".
But spin it however you will.

What does Parkman...
have anything to do with all these disingenuous and absurd posts about Barr?
Barr is not the enemy..it's the message, not the man (Paul, Barr)
FACE THE FACTS
It has to do with this disingenuous appeal for "civility" when myself and others who express their intent to write-in Ron Paul are routinely demeaned by some of those claiming to support Bob Barr.
It has to do with the FACT that I have never once seen any of you who claim to support Bob Barr take up for the MAJORITY of Ron Paul supporters who intend to write-in Ron Paul (against Barr supporters' wishes or not) when we are belittled or demeaned for exercising our own independent thought, principles, judgment and conscience to vote for whomsoever we choose--namely Ron Paul.
It has to do with Bob Barr's record in Congress and the FACT that he endorsed the unconstitutional "Patriot" Act and unending, framed-up and engineered "war" and how those who claim to support Bob Barr want to rationalize these egregious abuses of the Constitution. What side are you people on? The side of liberty? The "Patriot" Act is far from the side of liberty--stop trying to gloss over Barr's vote to axe the Constitution and let the guy's record speak for itself!
It has to do with the tacit acceptance of the Anti-Truth League troll(s) who claim to support Barr on this very thread who in the past have advocated for the "extermination" of 9/11 Truth activists.

All Barr supporters must suffer the consequences of a few...
So because of some, you have to go out of your way to alienate ALL Ron Paul supporters who also support Bob Barr EVERYDAY with these disingenuous posts? Forgive us if we heed the advice of Ron Paul himself who suggests against writing-in Ron Paul. Since we agree with Dr. Paul and make the decision to support Barr, why can't you show civility to those who disagree with your perspective by not constantly posting these asinine posts about Barr on a DAILY basis?
What have I done but told the truth and offered my opinion?
Please alliterate how what I have done has been disingenuous or attacked those who claim to support Bob Barr for supporting him.
I have no problem with anyone using their independent judgment to support Bob Barr. In fact, I encourage all people, of all real or fake political stripes to exercise their own independent thought, principles, judgment and conscience to vote for whomsoever they choose. Although, as I mentioned, I believe Ron Paul is a better man for the job than Bob Barr (or McHussein) and so I encourage others to write-in Ron Paul which he said his supporters "could do".
I DO HAVE A PROBLEM WITH UNCONSTITUTIONAL LEGISLATION AND THE IDIOTS WHO VOTED FOR THE UNCONSTITUTIONAL "PATRIOT" ACT WITHOUT EVEN READING IT FIRST!
It strikes me that someone who claims to believe in liberty would take issue with that statement.

"We really do have...a once in a lifetime opportunity to take the Republican Party back to where it was." -Kent Snyder, 1959-2008
haha
Your confusing facts with opinion...
Your first "Fact":
"It has to do with the FACT that I have never once seen any of you who claim to support Bob Barr take up for the MAJORITY of Ron Paul supporters who intend to write-in Ron Paul (against Barr supporters' wishes or not) when we are belittled or demeaned for exercising our own independent thought, principles, judgment and conscience to vote for whomsoever we choose--namely Ron Paul."
Real Fact: Where is the documentation that the majority of Paul supporters are writing-him in? And if that's the case, why should those who disagree bow down to the "majority"?
So because of that it's OK to belittle and demean the Barr supporters (who agree with the advice of Dr. Paul) on a DAILY BASIS?
Anyway, I'm quitting because we're getting nowhere and won't be. How about if we see threads written against Write-in, Barr, or Baldwin we DENOUNCE them (especially if it is disingenuous like this thread we are currently posting on) instead of propping them up?
Sorry, no dice. You're confusing truth with lies. haha
I won't hold my breath waiting for someone who so disingenuously and scurrilously claims that he or she is "agree[ing] with the advice of Dr. Paul" supposedly to not write-in Ron Paul when in FACT he told his supporters that they "could do it" with regard to a write-in vote for him, to "denounce" the very thing that he or she just engaged in.
REAL FACT: Ron Paul told his supporters that writing-in Ron Paul was something that "they could do".
REAL FACT: Look at the poll on revolutionbroadcasting.com. Write-in Ron Paul wins with a super MAJORITY.
Again, I have not to my knowledge belittled or demeaned Barr supporters in any way, shape or form. If I have, I apologize. And, sorry, I do not espouse that behavior either.

It seems that the crazies are the ones that are rabidly against Barr. I guarantee 99% of them are 9/11 truthers.
What's wrong?
Government job tiresom? Boring? Not what they told you when you signed up? Be all you can be...LMAOROTF. I bet it gets old being a traitorous shill. You can escape chains which hold you back, but, you can never escape from yourself. You call decent people crazie when they ask questions, what does that make people like yourself? Stupid and niave for not? 99% percent of the RP people KNOW what Barr is. He either made a mistake with his vote or it was intentional. Which was it? You can't spout for freedom and liberty and at the same time drive a stake thru the heart of the Constitution. You either get that or you dont. At this present point, with our liberties heading into oblivian, mistakes like this cannot be allowed to happen. We will never get something different, by accepting more of the same. We must stand on voting record, on principles, on integrity. Barr is another wolf in sheeps clothing. He is no different than Obama or McInsane, telling you what you want to hear...at least for now. Yeah, there goes another crazie Ron Paul supporter. Damn the truth, it only gets in the way...Right?
I guess you weren't at the R[EVOL]ution March there chief...
I'd say that 9/11 Truth activists were in the distinct MAJORITY. I guess Bob Barr won't be having any marches like that.

9/11 truth?
The prize
is educating America. It's as simple as that.
The prize is not becoming president.
Maybe in a few decades from now. That's only a much longer term goal, that's not achievable in the shorter term. First you have to educate and convert them to these ideas. Only then are you going to get the numbers to win an election.
You cannot stop an idea who's
Time has come. This is today you disinfo bastard. Three decades from now we will either be totally enslaved or completely Free at the current pace of things.
From your comments it seems you would want us to lose our Constituitional Freedoms.
really? Bob Barr may not be
really? Bob Barr may not be anywhere near as good as Ron Paul, but I certainly would not leave my children with psycho satanists who sacrifice children to giant owl statues and then have mass orgies (hahahaha) over Bob Barr....
Dude
Barr has been working, testifying and lobbying against the Patriot Act for the past 4,5 years after he said it was his worst vote.
Perhaps you should take note of who Barr's advisers and friends are:
Doug Bandow, Bruce Fein, James Bovard and they are all friends of Dr. Paul as well.
Walter Jones was also - like Barr - first a Democrat before switching to a Republican. Jones not only voted for the war, he even coined the term "freedom fries". Yet he has seen the light and totally changed. So you consider your children safer with Dick Cheney than with Bob Barr or Walter Jones? You gotta be kidding.
If Barr has changed his views only a view months ago, then I would have said he seems like an opportunist and would not have believed him, but he has changed on the war and Patriot Act in 2003 already. He was only 4 months for the war based on the WMD issue, and 80% of Americans also bought into it.
BTW: LRC does not advocate a return to the constitution, but some of the contributers and Ron Paul are strict constitutionalists. Listen to LRC podcast interview with Thomas Woods of last week and you will know better what I am talking about.
People always forget to mention all the positive record of Barr, that he was the second most libertarian Republican, did not earn his nickname "Mr. Privacy" for nothing, was always strong on illegal immigration and the 2nd Amendment with Dr. Paul, also on US sovereignty and criticism of the UN and he has always been pro-life and IRS hating as well.
Respectfully open your eyes.
If your wife
gambled away first your savings and then she proceeded to gamble away your car and finally your home. Would you idly sit back and trust her, until everything was lost? No you wouldn't. So why do you trust Barr?
THEN MAYBE HE SHOULD HAVE READ THE BILL FIRST?
BEFORE he voted FOR the UNPatriot Act? It is TOTALLY UNCONSTITUTIONAL to vote for a bill that you haven't even bothered to READ, and I don't care WHAT the pathetic excuses those in Congress have for doing that! THERE IS NO EXCUSE, PERIOD! Ron Paul found the time to read it, or enough of it to know that it was BAD NEWS! These Congress people need to spend MORE time doing their job and LESS time pandering to special interests and lobbyists!
I thought this was the Daily PAUL, NOT the Daily Bob Barr? You guys can vote however you want, but don't come here and call RP supporters names for standing by their convictions; they've worked their butts off for OVER a YEAR in support of Ron Paul. Bob Barr comes along and thinks he's just going to take it from here? I think NOT!
Ron Paul IS the ONLY choice for me! AMEN!
Friends is one thing... I
Friends is one thing... I have friends who beleive the exact opposite of me.. just because they are friends does'nt mean they are for the same policies!
as for me and my home, we shall worship the LORD

Place Your Vote Here
"I don't trust you" is a legitimate statement, and one that is important. I certainly favor free speech as a safety valve. If speech is squelched, violence ensues, so I'm all for it.
I'm not sure how much credibility it has coming from one who would sooner trust his children with Cheney, but perhaps that was an exaggeration for dramatic effect.
So, place your vote here. What is the most likely?
1. The above was posted by an Obama supporter trying to sew dissention.
2. The above was posted by a McCain supporter trying to start a fight among the Ron Paul libertarian/conservatives.
3. The above was posted by a pessimist or depressed person who has given up all hope for the country and is verbally sacrificing his children.
4. Or, maybe, he's just angry and disappointed.
I would like to see a letter to Barr in which actually makes a case and asks Barr to respond. Trust is something that it takes two to establish, and it doesn't work unless they are open to it.
IMissLiberty
Unfair framing of the question
I do not trust Bob Barr. I am
5. A hard working, 100% devoted Ron Paul supporter who has not yet given up on anything, as the future is not here yet.
And while we are at it, I believe there ought to be one more option:
6. Some other reason not mentioned above.
I doubt Borisimo is a McCain or Obama supporter.
he is spearheading the Sign and SlimJim distribution in St. Paul for the GOP convention.
He is just tired of Barr people trying to sway Ron Paul voters and Delegates right now when we all should be working toward getting Ron Paul the GOP Nomination any way POSSIBLE.
Totally Agree... and...Borisimo has a right to their opinion
I thought it was sarcastic humor with a serious point.
Trust is a serious issue for many of us. Ron Paul has earned my trust & loyalty. I'm still here on the Daily Paul, I haven't moved to the Daily Barr or did someone mess w/my browser while I was not looking!
That's great, but I'm puzzled
Name-calling is not helpful (e.g., "worse than Cheney"). Why pick fights? I haven't seen all that many people trying to win support for Barr. I have seen lots of people defending Barr against attack and reasonably discussing his value to the movement.
I think most Barr supporters understand that this is a Ron Paul website. If I mention Barr, it is always in defense of liberty and Barr's usefulness to the Ron Paul movement.
I see Barr's entry into the race as an asset to getting Ron Paul the nomination. Clearly a threat to vote for Barr if they don't nominate Ron Paul, is a threat that must be taken seriously. We have Ron Paul supporters on here who are Democrats, or anti-war or pro-drug freedom who may support Obama before they'd support McCain. If they threaten to vote for Barr if Ron Paul isn't nominated, then that puts pressure on the GOP, too. The nominee doesn't just have to get the R votes, he has to get some D votes, to win.
I have to wonder what possible help such a post is to the Ron Paul movement. It seems counter-productive to me, as if the poster were trying to get rid of Barr supporters, when most Barr supporters are Libertarians (the ones who nominated Ron Paul for president long before it was cool), or people who know about Barr because of his work with Ron Paul, and consider him a potential second choice.
Barr and Paul are not (yet) in competition for any votes. This battle is up to the delegates, now, and to the DVDs4Delegates type projects. Support for Barr can't hurt Ron Paul.
That said, if they were in competition with each other: I can think of nothing I would like better than to have a choice between them in November.
IMissLiberty
If no Barr, how will the general public hear of liberty?
Which presidential candidate in the media is speaking more on behalf of liberty than Bob Barr?
It's not the man (Paul, Barr), it's the message...whose presidential message (that is publicly heard) is better than Barr's?
Keep things in perspective is all I ask...It's either support Barr's message, or the message of liberty will not be heard by the general public in the next three months...aren't we trying to spread the message of liberty?
Please vote for McCain
A vote for Barr or Paul is a vote for Obama in November. I am afraid Barr will pull enough votes in GA to hand it to Obama. Remember you Paul supporters registered as Republicans, so man up and vote for our guy. Otherwise, continue to whine about your oppression for 4 more years.

Go crack open a book, do some research, read the Constitution. Your ignorance is showing...
For liberty!! *gong*
I'll man up
When the GOP gives us a real REPUBLICAN to vote for!
Do your homework friend.... there is not a nickels difference between Obama or McCain. One's gonna bankrupt us w/war & the other w/entitlements. Both are FOR a One World Order, loss of american sovereignty, big corperations & lobbyists. Both are bought & owned by the same people. Perhaps you should MAN UP and look into the facts, think for yourself and stop following the herd.
I have an idea, I'll buy you a ticket to the Rally in Minnesota, you can sit with me. Interested ? Or down the street at the GOP you can listen to Lieberman & Karl Rove if he's not arrested yet... shakes head sadly at what the GOP is doing to itself.
It's easy to blindly cast a vote... harder to man up & get involved.
Well then tell McCain
To start dismantling the Federal reserve, and to repeal the Military commisions act and the patriot act.
Otherwise, he is going down in flames yet again.
you know we can take him down, maybe he should start sucking up to the people that control his future.
