Clarion County man not a 'terrorist,' wife says
By Richard Gazarik, rgazarik@tribweb.com

Morgan Jones once built a tank out of scrap metal and drove it to church.

During annual potluck parties at his backwoods Clarion County home, he often wowed guests with his homemade flamethrower.

And sometimes, just for fun, he'd entertain friends by shooting an electrical charge through his body to light a bulb.

His wife, Donna, says he's a little eccentric.

"I never thought it was illegal to be eccentric," she said. "He's a good man. He's not a terrorist or a domestic threat."

Agents from the federal Joint Terrorism Task Force thought otherwise when they arrested Jones last month as he left Sunday Mass in the sleepy hamlet of Lucinda.

Secret Congressional Meeting

I remember just recently hearing about the leaked information coming out of that closed door session of congress back in March. Some of the more radical claims were that there was an imminent collapse of the US economy by Sept.... and a collapse of the US govts ability to finance itself by next spring... Well here we are, its almost August and it damn sure looks like the economy is about to collapse. The government looks like it might go broke funding bailouts. So as crazy as I thought all this might be... its looking pretty damn prophetic at the moment.

Which brings me to my last point... another crazy point that supposedly came out of that closed door session, was the necessity to round up, "extremist individuals" that might pose a threat to the government...

This leak of information has to much in common with whats actually going on to be completely written off.

Any thoughts?

A better video

http://www.youtube.com/wa...

The whole thing designed to create a fictitious and non-existent "militia" or band of terrorists so more draconian laws could be implemented against YOU. Someone said we Ron Paul supporters are kooks. While there may be a few kooks among us it is certain that ALL of 'them' are psychotic criminally insane.

The linked article

is filled with half truths, distortions and outright lies. The System cannot tell the truth therefore everything coming from the system has to be challenged. McVeigh destroyed the Murray Bldg from the outside with one explosion? Then how is this accounted for?

http://www.youtube.com/wa...

The article is about intimidation - which is a terrorist tactic:

The FBI defines terrorism as: The unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a Government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.

http://terrorism.about.co...

Dont tread on me

I believe is attributed to some of our first enlisting marines.

Apparently, I'm a terrorist too... :-0

Because I'm inclined to agree with many of the bullet points on the site.

From the PA state web page:

•"Gun Control is a conspiracy to enslave us starting with the removal of our ability to either defend ourselves or forcefully change our government."

• "believe every organization or government will eventually be corrupted by power."

"The modern Anti-Government movement evolved in reaction to:

• gun control laws of the 1990s
• the federal government’s actions at Waco (Branch Davidians)
• the federal government’s actions at Ruby Ridge (Randy Weaver)"

Among other reasons... such as the erosion of civil liberties, constitutional infidelity-ad infinitum. The PA website is surreal, especially the little quiz at the end of it.

Oh, and I have a "Don't Tread on Me" flag in my office- an apparent "no-no" according to the PA terrorism website...

The Southern Poverty Law center makes me ill. They epitomize the absolute abuse of power passing as a "civil rights" organization- a perversion of the concept. As somebody has noted they are the outsourced arm of both the government and the convenient go-to expert for lazy and uninitiated journalists.

Here's an organization in PA for gun owners:

http://www.pafoa.org/

Go there and discuss all the laws in PA.

Oh No IMissLiberty!

In God We Trust!

Shooting tennis balls at cars would probably mean your dad would go to Guantanamo. I was stationed there back in 66 with the 2nd Marines and it was absolutely NOTHING like what it is today. We must get our nation back and that means our military and police departments too!

Now fire away but don't get caught with tennis balls and any kind of aluminum tubing in your car (lol)

If you're a hammer,

If you're a hammer, everything looks like a nail, especially when there are no real nails to hammer.

I got a good laugh watching Intel's Andy Grove give a talk several years ago on CSPAN about the internet. Dianne Feinstein expressed her fears about the proliferation of bomb info, to which Grove responded that he knew of several corporate executives that started out (careers in technology) that way.

And these same statist nannies think they can just throw money at national labs and have miracles occur, as if the moon landing validated big government technical efficacy!

Where did I read it; that first the creative are invested in, then the emulators are invested in, then finally the stupid?

I'd better go ditch my spudzooka and try to conform. In Germany having a copy of Mein Kamp would prove your loyalty to the government. What should I have? An Obama Tee-shirt? A flag-pin?

POLITICS, n. A strife of interests masquerading as a contest of principles. The conduct of public affairs for private advantage. - Bierce

This is scary and alarming.

This is scary and alarming. This is just a few miles from me. The PA Homeland security website claims all gun owners are unorganized militias! I guess we are all terrorists.
http://www.pa-aware.org/w...

Don't be surprised

I hate to say it but AJ has been saying that all of the terrorism
legislation over the years would eventually be used in this fashion.
Despite what all your family, friends and neighbors all think, its
coming and its coming very quickly.

ALL CRIME WILL BE TERRORISM

or construed as such.

Except crime commited by

Except crime commited by illegals. That won't count.

oh my!

that's what it comes down to..........we are all terrorists because we want to shut down the terror machine.

The southern poverty Law center

Has an interesting agenda. It is the only so called anti Hate organization to watch the "neo-confederate groups" - http://en.wikipedia.org/w...

-Note that they classify the Von Mises institute as "neo-confederate, as well as Tom DiLorenzo, and H.LMencken.

Then these get lumped together with Criminal skinhead organizations. Interesting way to do political debate.

Interesting that this domestic spy job is "outsourced"...

"Anti-Defamation League in Cleveland, which monitors militia activity in Western Pennsylvania."

US government is the terroist

the US government is violating the constitution.
When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.
Thomas Jefferson

My Dad's an inventor

We used to have a VW micro-bus and people would pass us all the time as if they assumed we were going too slow.

My dad talked about making a device to shoot tennis balls at their cars.

I guess I better tell him to watch what he says.

IMissLiberty

In a totalitarian state...

...everyone has to watch what they say (and do).

http://groups.yahoo.com/g...

yeah

make a joke at the airport about having a bomb and they arrest right away...there are people arrested at airports for having a t-shirt with a gun on it!!!
http://www.flickr.com/pho...

I caught it....

Total BS

The "government" could have easily arrested Koresh without any violence.

The "government" wanted violence. The "government" orchestrated the death of innocent women and children at WACO

Live Free or Die in NH

Did you catch this sentence?

"The siege and eventual destruction of David Koresh and the Branch Davidian complex in Waco, Texas, was tied to militia activity."

Totally false propaganda. They're really stretching for ties to scare the sh!t out of people.

They are 'alleged' to be

They are 'alleged' to be associated with militia?? Don't they have to have committed a CRIME of some sort? Or was the sale of the AK47 supposedly a crime?

Where they went wrong:

Keeping everything secret. I know its going to be legally challenged, and if you don't have agood defense team you might spend some time in jail-but militias are constitutionally legal.

Sneaking around in the shadows is not a secure way to avoid the law. I'd say tell everyone you know of, and broadcast it all over the net that you're part of a militia and you're ready in case tyranny tries to take over America.

And network, get out of only one militia and meetup with others. Fear is foolish when death doesn't happen.

a little honey...

I just spoke to the "mother" of the Clarion County sheriff's office - the receptionist / secretary who has "been there a while." She will watch the 5 part "Ruby Ridge Massacre" on youtube and ask the sheriff to do the same.

Get YOUR sheriff to watch before it is too late. This is the story as told by the little girl who lived on Ruby Ridge, who is now a courageous young lady.

I live less than 50 miles

I live less than 50 miles from Ruby Ridge and have not trusted any Feds since it happened. Okay, Randy Weaver was a bad dude and flatly refused to set up another person for the feds to arrest on a trumped up weapons charge. There is no act that can be committed by any man, even blatant refusal to be intimidated by the BATF, that justifies government agents shooting that man's ten year old son in the back and killing him. Sam was just trying to get himself and his dog to safety when he was murdered in cold blood by federal agents. Vickie Weaver, unarmed and holding a baby was shot in the head by one of the FBI's top sharpshooters. They later tried to say it was an "accident". The murders, who should have been brought up on charges, were officially thanked and promoted.

We will have to have a rEVOLution and a complete housecleaning of government agencies before I ever trust another federal cop of any sort.

OMG

This was the first I've learned of the events at Ruby Ridge, and it is profoundly disturbing. Oh, my God...

one of life's funny little "conicidences"

I lived in Arkansas when it happened. I was pretty much among the sleeple, although I never really "bought in" fully. I definitely leaned the "peacenik, love is the answer" direction. I REFUSED to allow guns in my home (although always considered the Constitution sacrosanct - you could have your gun.)
When I heard about Ruby Ridge, I made some snap judgements: Stupid rednecks, racist pigs, too bad the kids had to see that but one less whack job in the world can't be a bad thing, right?
Within a few years, we announced we were moving to Idaho. As JOKES, three times we were told "You will wind up in the mountains fighting the next Ruby Ridge" by two different friends. Of course we laughed, I am no racist, and far too well educated and of the "proper breeding" for such nonsense.
Guess who now lives in the mountains of Idaho and prays for the courage of the Weaver family should my day come?

Me too...

I remember watching the Branch Davidian compound burn to the ground live on the tele. At the time I had consumed and believed most of what the government had stated were reasons for their actions- and believed the actions were justified.

Two years ago, killing some time at my brother in laws house, I caught a late night broadcast of "Waco: Rules of Engagement". Except for "America: From Freedom to Fascism", no other film has had such a dramatic impact on my thinking and world view about the government. It had a profound impact on me, rocking my world view to the core.

Several years ago, I too had somewhat of an anti-gun mentality, and an anti-gun owners mentality as well.

Man, have times changed for me- all for the better. I have arisen from my sheepish slumber.

Well what do you know,

They didn't even sugar coat it with a euphemism like "INSURGENT"

I really don't understand

I really don't understand this whole thing. I thought militias were authorized in the Constitution. I thought they were not only legal but advised. Oh well..

EXACTLY! But our govt. has "conditioned" us thru MSM to believe

that "militias are "BAD"! Am I mistaken because I was always taught that it was the MILITIAS who fought the Red Coats during the American Revolution?
The Waco Texas masacre; the Ruby Ridge Murders; the OK City Murders, all done by our govt. and blamed on "militias"! Why was the FBI told to not report to their offices on the day that the OK City bomb, aka, Tom McVeigh thing went down? I've heard he was a CIA operative, much like Osama BinLaden. They use them, then chew them up and spit them out by way of elimination!
The OK chapter of the militia denies that McVeigh was a member, he was too radical!
Aren't the militias in Iraq fighting to defend their country from foreign invaders? I think that most of what we are told about them is propaganda used to condition the American people.

Sounds like a "terrorist"

Sounds like a "terrorist" under Section 802 of the "Patriot" Act:

http://www.ratical.org/ra...

`(5) the term `domestic terrorism' means activities that--

`(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State;

Send your letters of thanks to Bob Barr and all of the other War Party apparatchiks who endorsed this unconstitutional legislation, most often without even reading it.

Using this definition, drunk-driving is "terrorism."

Nice one JKap!!

"Whether you think you can or think you cannot, you're absolutely right!"

There are 33 extremist

There are 33 extremist groups in Pennsylvania? I guess we'll have to bomb and then occupy Pennsylvania until everything is "stable".

You mean...

... "bring democracy" to Pennsylvania ? ;-)

Notice how they cite

the ADL as the "experts" and people who "track militia activity"?

Ever wonder why the ADL works so closely with the FBI that they seem like they control it?

Ever notice back in the 1990s, that the ADL report on "dangerous groups" turned out to be the exact same report that the FBI issued to its agents, except with the heading changed to "FBI"?

The ADL is the FBI's handler.

"First they came…"

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.
