Oklahoma "Ron Paul" Delegate Needs Your Help!

Hello Everyone,
I'm became a delegate because a knew that I would be unbound and be able to vote for Ron Paul. I am planning to do so given the opportunity. Otherwise, my wife (who is an alternate) and I will spread the message of freedom and limited government on the floor of the 2008 RNC. We will also discuss our ongoing loss of civil liberties, the lack of sound money, the policing of the world by the U.S., foreign interventionism, the illegal IRS and the push toward a one world government. Most of the other delegates will be attending the convention as cheerleaders for the chosen team. We are going to take this opportunity to educate as many of them as possible on the real issues that effect our economy, our international status and our children's future.
Unfortunately, the recent recession has caused our consulting business to come to a crawl. Combine that with the massive energy and food inflation and it leaves us in a position of having to ask for help to fund our trip to the convention. The expenses are many, including but not limited to Airfare, Hotel (mandatory to stay in $1300 hotel of the GOP's choosing), Transportation, Meals, Uniforms (more mandatory stuff), Delegate fees, etc...

Too bad it wasn't Lieberman, we would have had a lot of the GOP delegates jumping the tracks to our side.
We'll be leaving on Sunday morning and I was hoping to get a list of everyone on this thread who will be at the convention and/or rally. You can send me a private message, or answer here and I'll add your screen name to the list. But you'll have to introduce yourself with your screen name when we meet.
There is a bar in Minnesota called Jager that is owned by a Ron Paul Revolutionary and many people are meeting there throughout the week. Robert and I will try to make it there at least once. So if we don't meet up with everyone at the rally or the convention maybe we'll see you at jager:

Credentials
The Oklahoma GOP finally today released the names of all of the delegates and alternates. Of course they did it in a mass media press release that we were only informed of as it was happening. I'm sure my phone at home is ringing off the hook, but alas there is no answering machine to take their messages.
But now we finally have proof from the OK GOP that we are delegates, better late than never I guess.
Thank you again to everyone who has chipped `in we have reached 31% of our goal and it is going to make a big difference in our stress levels next week.

We are definitely going to St. Paul and we have all of you to thank for that. We haven't yet reached what we need on our chip in but the support that we have been getting is wonderful.

It is so important for you to be there for us, and not be afraid to speak out. You must be well rested, fed, and not stressed. This convention is a huge expense for these delegates, and must not be bourne alone. Please help them.

I let the scamming that goes on here get the best of me, and of course the topic goes away and I never see it again. I now see where they did indeed answer my questions below. Being skeptical I did some checking and verified the situation. Now I feel like a complete jackass. I remember being at the state convention and just hoping and praying that some of our people would somehow get through that process, even if it was sporting a McNasty tshirt and chanting bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran. I just didn't care what had to be done, just get some delegates.
Thank you for being those delegates. Have a great trip, and our thoughts and prayers will be with you and all the other brave people standing up for what is right in Minnesota.

I just sent a small donation. It's great that you get to vote for Ron Paul on the first ballot. All the Missouri delegates are bound to McCain.

I thought that I read
somewhere about the Missouri delegation actually sitting out on the first vote, maybe in the 04 election. That seems to be a great option for us..if enough people sit out the first round McNasty can't get his votes, and that leaves a bunch of unbound for the next round of voting. Just a thought!

In AR they "elected" electors, too..both were for Huck. We had ONE McCain bound delegate, the rest were for Huck. Huck may release ALL of his delegates. Talk to as many as you can find!!!! Anyone from AR, there, befriend them FAST.

I just know they are even MISSING RP's speech, to be able to go to the convention. For crying out loud, all..help them raise some money. They are doing this for all of us, not for themselves. It was pretty darned surprising when I found out delegates were expected to pay $200+ a night for the "mandated" hotel right here in AR. I would have, if elected, but RP had a poor showing because NO active state coordinator and did not even get ONE delegate. I swear I could have done a better job myself. ANyway, no delegates for Ron could be elected, and you can bet I would not even pretend to be a Huck delegate..so let us HELP these perseverent folks who GOT elected!!!!

I have to apologize for not posting to this forum earlier. I got used to Robert reading the Daily Paul to me and our son who worked with us on our newspaper. In the past two months we have had to close two businesses, our newspaper and Robert's print consulting business. Our newspaper was putting us in debt and the consulting business had not been doing any business for months. As of last week Robert is working for a company in Arkansas, working 10 hour days, 6 days a week, with a 3 hour commute each day. The company has agreed to let him take off next week (unpaid of course) to go to the convention. He really misses reading the Daily Paul, but he hasn't had much time to do more than answer direct emails, a few a night. I know that he did not do any posts before we asked for help, but there are so many individuals on this forum that usually his comments would have just been a repeat of some one else's post, and posting an "I agree" post is not in his character.
I will try to answer everyone's questions and concerns before we leave.
We would like to THANK everyone that has contributed! I know that Robert sends out 'Thank You' emails to everyone that chip's in as soon as he gets home in the evening.

I'm still not buying it....yet
I have asked for them to email me and tell me about this "manadatory 1300 dollar hotel" that they are supposedly "required" to stay in. I keep getting GOP emails since I'm our counties State GOP Committeeman, and they have long list of hotels and I promise you they aren't thirteen hundred dollars! I honestly don't think even the neo con GOP would or could keep someone out of the convention for not spending enough on their hotel. Besides I told them I would help out quite a lot if they would just contact me and fill me in. Apparently they don't want to do that.
Besides that, they joined JUST to ask for money. They have been members since the day this got posted. If they can't have a conversation with people who are willing to help foot the bill, then I have serious doubts as to their true plans and needs.
Just my honest opinion. If I am wrong, I would sure appreciate for them to contact me and tell me so, and then my original offer would stand and a full apology would be issued.......

Sorry Dale, before he started his job last week Robert spent two weeks going out on interviews and pounding the pavement trying to find a job and didn't have time to check the Daily Paul often enough, he must have missed your request for info during that time. Now he is working and hasn't had time to read it at all.
I am much better at public speaking and reporting than I am at forums so I hope you can all bear with me while I try to catch up today.
The hotel is a total of $1,300 for a mandatory 5 nights stay. The OK GOP said we had to stay their for security purposes as well as meetings and transportation to and from the convention. They say that we have to arrive at the convention on a specified shuttle bus departing from our hotel in order to get past security. I have never been to a national convention so I had to take their word on these things. Apparently it is like that in many States for the same reasons, since I have seen other delegates complaining of it on meetup groups.
Robert and I have done extensive research on every aspect of becoming delegates; rules, procedures, forms and affidavits, prior history of conventions, but no where did we come across any information stating that it would cost us so much to actually go. We were always more concerned with getting the message out. We spent many long days, weeks, and months preparing ourselves and other Ron Paul supporters to get as many of us elected delegates as possible that we did not even notice at first how bad our financial situation had become. But we will be going to the convention, we will be spreading the message of liberty, limited government, vastly reduced foreign intervention, and educate people to the ongoing loss of our civil liberties. We will go into more debt if we have to and it appears we will.
Dale if you will be at the Rally or the convention we would like it if you could take the time and meet with us, you will see that we are what we say we are, and in person no one is able to shut us up about our beliefs. But I will be on my best behavior and killing them with kindness. (It's easier to catch sheeple with honey than vinegar).
Once again I'm sorry we did not speak to your concerns earlier.

This whole election has been a real eye opener for many of us. There have been scams left and right, moles on the forums and meetup groups, even a spy or two or probably more at the conventions at all levels. It has turned all of us into skeptics, so don't worry we were never offended.
