Trust, but verify - Ronald Reagan
I have deleted the original post that was here.
Originally, I posted information that I discovered while researching the Minnesotan recipients of our Ron Paul campaign literature and signs.
This information gave me cause for concern regarding the sincerity of their efforts, and I decided to let others know about it - perhaps prematurely.
Nevertheless, the information I found is out there for those that consider themselves citizen journalists.
I have posted an apology thread at http://www.dailypaul.com/...
I will leave it up to Mr. Nystrom to decide whether or not to delete this thread.

Here is a link which verifies C Wilkinson is RP supporter!
http://www.mnlg.org/searc...
I did my own google of mnlg.org and it is a Liberty Group formed from Ron Paul group. This link shows a letter written By Colin Wilkinson !
You should please delete this thread as it seems like you are trying to stop a good project that is not even asking any money and will be gathering and distributing the signs all over St Paul!
Please correct the alarmist info above?!
Cablenewsjunkie. I see that you changed the title...
I see that you changed the title. But it is not fair to pay activists like this for volunteering their time and efforts.
We all have dirty laundry. I'm sure you have yours.
Can you please stop this and delete this post? It is doing a lot more harm than good. You already know that they are very active in Libertarian politics and they had a slip up.
But it doesn't benefit us a bit to keep on spreading this, specially as payment for letting us flood their house with materials and spending hours organizing everything.
Will people keep on volunteering to help when they know other people will air any dirty laundry? This is a very bad precedent.
Common sense tell us that the Wilkinsons are trying to help.
Please, I ask of you to delete this post or at least their names and personal information. When they signed up for this they did it with the best of intentions.
I really, really hope you see our point here.
Thank you,
Boris in Miami

Well, I think people should
Well, I think people should make up their own minds regarding this endeavor.
Even if we forget that these people apparently stole money from the Libertarian Party, it's STILL risky to send all this stuff to just ONE address.
I would advise people to take the campaign lit and signs there themselves rather than mailing them.
Ok then -I see your point... in a way
but many will not be able to go and if these people are already willing to put them all out...it would be great! We could contact some other of our meetup organizers there and see if they will recieve and distribute the signs and materials also !
I just think it is really a great idea and a useful way to use all the signs.
I am picturing St Paul with all these signs everywhere! lol!
I would also like to see
I would also like to see this happen.
But let's not put all our eggs in one basket.
Diversify, diversify, diversify!!!

Cable news, this can be the biggest bang for the buck in media exposure and you are working towards shutting it down.
As we have always said; this is a decentralized effort and we encourage YOU to contact the meetups in St Paul and get other addresses and people willing to help with the logistics.
REMEMBER: A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE SIGNS WON"T BE ABLE TO GO>

It's for the people who aren't going to be able to make it to
Minneapolis St Paul.
People who are Paul Supporters and have signs they are no longer using and slimjims they didn't pass out now can make use of them.
Once again I hope you aren't bad mouthing to keep people from helping this effort.
Not at all. I just decided
Not at all.
I just decided to do some research into these people and came up with some very fishy information.
Can you blame me for wanting to alert others?
Answer me this.
They had some issues with paying rent.... Big deal. WHY do you think it will be a problem if we send signs for them to hold for a week or two..
Please tell me how this is a problem.
WHAT DO YOU THINK THEY WILL DO?
There is no monetary gain in these signs so what is your excuse now?
j
j
So what are they going to do with
the the signs and slim jims? You think that mailing them to this address will get them stolen, what are their motives? Do you think a libertarian would be siding with McCain and destroy the Signs and slim jims. Better yet what are you going to do with you left over signs... I don't think after they'll be much use unless we get the nomination. Come on you have an opinion why not voice it instead of making claims and stopping others from delivering their left over signs and slimjims to help the cause.
I don't see where money is being extorted here. It is a resting spot for some signs until people can get there to pass them out.
God you're worse than Laurie and her bashing of SGP.

Hmm, interesting
Maybe this raises more question to be asked before shipping everything off. It would be great to have the signs put up around the city as was the plan if allowed. Also, though, even if they are not allowed at the Rally, they could probably be used at the outdoor concert or other gatherings I would think.
This is a very low blow to a fellow Patriot. Shame.
A possible attempt to steal campaign materials? And do what? Melt it down and sell it to a toy factory?
I have taken a very quick look at your history here in Daily Paul and you appear to be a contributing member to the Freedom Movement. So I will be nice here, even though I feel enraged.
The information above is new to me. What I get from it is that two people who are active in Libertarian politics at the local level had a lapse of judgement or a set up or an snafu. I don't know.
What I do know is the history of the Wilkinsons as Freedom Activists and their patriotism. I have spent countless time with him on the phone arranging for this effort.
He has quite nervously volunteered his house to be slammed with mailed signs and has volunteered to spearhead the effort in St. Paul. What does he get in return from all his hard work?
Please tell me, what does he get in return from his hard work?
Your post?
Is that fair?
NO.
But such is our sacrifice as activists. My apologies to The Wilkinsons.
Here is a bit of the resume of Mr. Wilkinson:
He is "currently the leader for the St. Paul for Ron Paul meetup. (This meet up is merging into a new organization called Minnesotans for Limited Government. mnlg.org a Ron Paul group PAC.)
I have been a freedom activist along time. I am a Libertarian. My first issue is private property and 5th amendment rights. I did vote for Ron Paul in 1988.
In 1998 I was a state delegate to the State Convention of the Minnesota Reform Party (as it was then known). I and 224 other delegates gave Jessie Ventura the Party Gubernatorial Endorsement. We have met, we don't get along.
In 1995 two other Libertarians and I started a series of Tax Cut rallies that continue to this day under new management. I helped organize and manage the first 15 or so and others continued on. I have attended all of them, by my count this spring’s was my 26th. See KTLK fm’s web site and look at the pictures. I am the guy with the tricorn hat and drum standing by the Gadsden flag.
I can bore you with other trivialities but this should do.
C. Wilkinson"

Boris, I sincerely hope
Boris, I sincerely hope these people are genuine supporters.
I would hate to see HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS worth of campaign literature just disappear into a vacuum because all of us mailed our stuff to ONE address.
Trying to canvass the city and "Painting St. Paul Ron Paul" is a neat idea - in fact, it's one I even suggested in some postings on this website several weeks ago. But I think there are better, more secure ways of doing it than blindly trusting just a COUPLE individuals to get it done.
I suggested canvassing both D.C. and St. Paul with educational CDs/DVDs using several THOUSAND supporters.
---------------------------------------------------------------
See http://www.dailypaul.com/...
Excerpt:
"Imagine 5,000+ RP supporters going to D.C. carrying tens, if not, hundreds of thousands of CDs/DVDs with this information.
Imagine them DISPERSING within the D.C. Beltway and leaving these at home doorsteps.
I bet the whole area could be covered within 8-10 hours with some good organization (and good weather)."
---------------------------------------------------------------
Of course, we're always looking for a shortcut and someone else to do all the hard work for us aren't we?
I would advise people that if they want to try to do this, take the materials there yourself.
