I would be pulling all of my cash on this one before Friday!! LOL

FYI: as a completely unrelated issue ...

SSBX just lent out $10 million in high risk small business loans to some small companies that do not publish the names of their owners and/or officers.

Here is the list of finalists by stock symbol:

WHI

RGFC (recently delisted but still traded OTC) (Also exempt from naked shorts.) (I thought that was odd. I think this one is toast)

CCFH

FMAR

SSBX

This is only a finalist list that is publicly traded. There are many community banks that are privately owned.

SunTrust Bank Acquires the Insured Deposits of First Priority Bank, Bradenton, Florida

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
August 1, 2008
Media Contacts:
Andrew Gray (Cell: 202-494-1049)
David Barr (Cell: 703-622-4790; Office: 202-898-6992)

First Priority Bank, Bradenton, Florida, was closed today by the Commissioner of the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) was named receiver. To protect the depositors, the FDIC entered into a purchase and assumption agreement with SunTrust Bank, Atlanta, Georgia, to assume the insured deposits of First Priority.

The six branches of First Priority will reopen on Monday as branches of SunTrust Bank. Depositors of the failed bank will automatically become depositors of SunTrust. Deposits will continue to be insured by the FDIC, so there is no need for customers to change their banking relationship to retain their deposit insurance coverage. For the time being, however, customers of both banks should use their existing branches until SunTrust can fully integrate the deposit records of First Priority.

Over the weekend, customers of First Priority can access their money by writing checks or using ATM or debit cards. Checks drawn on the bank will continue to be processed. Loan customers should continue to make their payments as usual.

When is FDIC going to have to add a scroll feature to their ...

drop down window?

A little humor on a not so funny subject.

I think Silver State Bank

will be one of them. McCain's son just left there for "Personal Reasons" around a week ago and it is now being reported the CEO has just resigned.

This along with the huge losses they are reporting makes me think they are about to tank. I don't see how they could be solvent at this point.

Did you read the article

"Silver Star Bank: What is deposited in Vegas Doesn't Stay in Vegas". "Hundreds of millions of dollars deposited as it was stolen from CMKX shareholders". If not, I will try to link it. Hmm, McCains son resigning recently.

Holy Cow!!!

You might be right. Have you seen the stock today?

WAHOR!!

Today the President/CEO

Today the President/CEO resigned as well as their Chairman.

One year ago they had a market cap of approx. $400 mil...

Today they closed under $14 mil.

If not today, then a Friday soon.

It closed at about $.90 per share.

IndyMac, I think was about $.19 when they were taken over.

I bet the regulators are out there to see if lines are forming.

Anybody know how many branches there are?

WAHOR!!
http://www.dailypaul.com/...

They always do it on the weekend.. so I say maybe three or four!

The Federal Reserve seems to always do their seizing of banks on a Friday, and only after the Markets have closed for the day.

Who knows for sure, my guess is they could have seized more than two banks last weekend alone. But are instead staggering them out over time so not to panic the sheep, who they want to stay calm while being sheered.

My guess is there could be some additional banks this weekend, maybe three or four.

hjschaapman

My guess is that it will come around nine est because ...

They will be west coast banks. If any at all.

Oh.. that's right. It is Friday!

Best day to fire someone and to tell the world you are insolvent.

We should from a group

The Friday Bank Speculators, lol

Man was born to be free and independent

Next week

I'll have refreshments ready!

where did you hear more

where did you hear more banks were closinng today?

Just speculating. Every

Just speculating. Every Friday for the last couple of weeks, the FDIC has stepped in to take over banks that have failed (Indymac...). They do it on Friday so as to avoid news coverage and bank runs.
My guess would be none today, and 3 over the next month.

hmmm

somewhere between zero and 20 is my guess.

are you guys talking about

are you guys talking about bank failures?

what are you talking about?

what are you talking about? bank collapses?
