Law Professor: Counter Terrorism Czar Told Me There Is Going To Be An i-9/11 And An i-Patriot Act
Steve Watson

Amazing revelations have emerged concerning already existing government plans to overhaul the way the internet functions in order to apply much greater restrictions and control over the web.

Lawrence Lessig, a respected Law Professor from Stanford University told an audience at this years Fortune’s Brainstorm Tech conference in Half Moon Bay, California, that “There’s going to be an i-9/11 event” which will act as a catalyst for a radical reworking of the law pertaining to the internet.

Lessig also revealed that he had learned, during a dinner with former government Counter Terrorism Czar Richard Clarke, that there is already in existence a cyber equivalent of the Patriot Act, an “i-Patriot Act” if you will, and that the Justice Department is waiting for a cyber terrorism event in order to implement its provisions.

During a group panel segment titled “2018: Life on the Net”, Lessig stated:

There’s going to be an i-9/11 event. Which doesn’t necessarily mean an Al Qaeda attack, it means an event where the instability or the insecurity of the internet becomes manifest during a malicious event which then inspires the government into a response. You’ve got to remember that after 9/11 the government drew up the Patriot Act within 20 days and it was passed.

These are clearly not the ravings of some paranoid cyber geek.

As I always say: if it looks

U.N. and the Internet

Wayne LaPierre dedicates an entire chapter to this subject in his book , The Global War on Your Guns. Now he doesn't speculate about an i-patriot act because of some internet attack but this seems to be the modus operendi.

To quote:

" But the Internet, as Americans know it and use it, is in extreme danger, especially if a future U.S. government believes its control should be "internationalized" and run by the powers that are moving to control the U.N. When you think of global Internet control, think global gun control. They are the same thing- the taking of individual freedom by international despots."

He further writes:

The possibility of the Internet being controlled by the U.N., or any other international entity, has evoked a strong response by Congressional leaders. A sense of the Senate resolution introduced by Norm Coleman (R-MN) unanimously passed the Senate on November 18, 2005, and upheld the United States' current role in overseeing the governance of the Internet. ......Senator Coleman said: "the dispute is not over, It has been put on hold, but it is not dead."

This book is an excellent read with well researched and footnoted information about the corruption within the UN, its failed policies of stopping genocide and its efforts to destroy our Bill of Rights.

It will be up to us to remind our representatives of their previous statements in support of the Internet as the greatest vehicle to promote individual freedom and our First Ammendment rights.

That sounds alarming

Thank you for the information!

Dr. Paul cured my apathy

Just this morning I heard

that some 40,000,000 credit cards were compromized online and I just heard about it so I'm looking for more information. I heard it on the mainstream media so I have to wonder if it's a false flag .

“The Internet is dead, long live the Internet”

For those interested, I found the the following podcast on The Corbett Report Episode #046, where he discusses the demise of the internet and having it replaced with a much faster, but highly regulated internet v.2. The i-911 event is not so far fetched.

This will really

JM
hurt Time Warner, all the telephone co's, and all the internet providers because I for one will discontinue my service if internet 2 takes over and I can't surf the net and visit my favorite sites. You will see another melt down of all the communications companies. Ipods and all mobil devices that depend on the internet to operate will go by the wayside. I think it would be the end of the internet as we know it. This is simply sensorship, plain and simple. If all the major internet providers don't protest this, then it come to pass. Just think of all the computers that would be thrown in the trash. The computer companies would all go bust. Bill Gates and all the software developers would all go out of business instantly. Not to mention all the companies that rely on the internet for advertisement. Lets face it, the internet is just one big advertisement anyway, with a few good sites sprinkled in the mix to make it interesting. Just think of all the revenues that would be lost if all the sites were to go off line. It would boggle the mine.

haha good luck

the geeks outnumber the war pigs 3000 to 1.

That is a good point

Thank Gawd for all the computer nerds.

Here is what I

see. vp shamey sending congress home and gb too. No more law makers.
Just rules that will be posted and no argument. This whole game like we are free is looking really silly. Peace

There is very soon going to come a time

when the people start "just saying no" to whatever stupid laws that the gov't passes.
I mean it's getting absurd. They think they can pass anything and we'll just obey like robots.

I envision a time in the not too distant future, where these legislators sit in their ivory tower passing laws all day that nobody will read, nobody will pay attention to, and nobody will obey.
And that is what needs to be done to really remove the power from gov't.
Mass disobedience of such proportions that it makes the laws and enforcement efforts meaningless.

The flash point, and one

The flash point, and one seems to be approaching, will be when they either try to (a) shut down the Internet, or (b) confiscate American citizens' firearms.

Up until that point, Americans will endure almost any future abuses.

Well...

probably both our guns and internet. And they already have internet2 ready to go. Can't have the freedom fighters communicating with each other. Also, keep an eye on the address bars for "www2" instead of, for example www.dailypaul.com. I've heard it's out there already some and I'm not sure but I thought I saw an address with the 2 after the w's.

The "www#" is just a

The "www#" is just a notation for directing traffic toward a specific server in some configurations. Its nothing to worry about, and certainly isn't internet 2. I remember those notations back in '96 and '97. Lets say a company has 5 servers hosting a site to deal with high traffic. Some configurations allow you to set up www5 as the fifth designated server so you can choose to go to that one specifically.

It has been here for a while:

I have seen it for a long while every time I go to the verizon pages to work with my account.

http://www22.verizon.com/

I don't believe anything will surprise me at this point.
That's not to say that it doesn't (Place emotion here) me in many ways.

I love my country
I am appalled by my government

I believe.

they wrote the patriot act before 911

You would be correct. Do

You would be correct.

Do not give into evil, but proceed ever more boldly against it.

I saw a comment there for

www.savetheinternet.com..... I'll head on over this evening and check it out....we want net neutrality...or at least I do..

Good name, bad program

I fell for the same trick. "Net Neutrality" is really a backdoor program for greater regulation of the internet by the Big Brother Government. Not good.

I fell for it at first too.
