Astroturf – synthetic grass resembling real grassroots, a political gimmick meant to mimic genuine popular reaction to mislead the undiscerning in order to direct shallow thinkers astray, see Judas goat.

I see the original thread has now disappeared. For those who missed it: It was a high production quality screed performed by a professional actor dressed in colonial garb meant to depict Thomas Paine reciting memorized copy artfully crafted to pretend to protest rhetoric. The tell was that the only beef the producers of the slick video could come up with to rouse the rabble was the ubiquitous presence of Spanish language in our culture as a threat to the patriotik unity of Amerika. Yeah… that’s the issue we want the voting public worked up about.

You can picture a smoke filled room with Carl Rove and F*ck You Frank types coming up with this focus group strategy to play sleeple for the fools they usually prove to be. These hot button pushers are all about lathering up the hoi polloi as they would do with flag burning or school prayer, the easier to lead by the nose.

The cynical irony of this failed foray was that Mr. PN GWIN here and his buddy ClintonBLAHBLAH ( who posted the original thread ) were the only 2 to post as they went back and forth attempting to pimp the toxic video into a viral rampage. Both coincidentally are listed as DP members for 51 weeks. ClintonBLAHBLAH had a tag line in Latin purporting to be a scolding motto of the Federal Reserve. Latin, of course, was the language of a now fallen, once grand empire. Diversity of language, by the way, was not the reason that civilization was destroyed. In fact, its language endured centuries beyond its government’s ability to enforce acceptance since it was then, as it is now, the substance of ideas, and not superficial forms of expression, which define a society.

I thought of giving you a salute, Penguin ( here I picture you snickering like Burgess Meredith in his Batman Series role) in a foreign tongue to take back to your handlers who might then come to understand the deeper meaning of this real grassroots rEVOLution, since they obviously don’t speak American –

I’d send you back with a Bronx cheer,‘ blowing the raspberry’*, formed with an extended tongue, also known as ‘the bird’( which reminds me)**.

But so your buddy ClintonBlahBlah could also get the message, I decided to salute LATIN America instead with a motto that sums up this movement’s real root substance:

Emitte lucem et veritatem –
