On the subject of not calling 911,
don't call the large tow truck companies that works for the police either, because they notify the police of all their jobs as a matter of course.
If you need a tow, call a small one-truck company. They'll just tow you to a garage without getting the police involved.
Incidentally, police-affilliated tow truck companies play a role in Aguilar's short story, 200, though Blackwater is the principle villian.

I am not a big hunter ,but have always liked to target shoot. We have a shooting range with 1,2,and 3 hundred yard targets.
My first serious rifle.. (well I have an AK but)I am hoping to get the best of both worlds with this type of rifle. I wanted something accurate,but didn't want bolt action.
I don't have a ton of cash I want to invest in this,so I figured it was the best choice. Whadya think?

also I was hitting a 18" steel plate at 725 yards with iron sights no scope.. just count up 23 clicks and your on.. that is how good these rifles are! also no cleaning after every 200 rounds to keep them functioning!

That's good shooting.
I used to shoot expert-level in the National Match, which has a 600-yard slow-fire stage with a 36" bulls-eye. The 10-ring is 12" and I was hitting it about half the time, with the other half in the 9-ring. (That was ten years ago and my eyesight has faded a bit since then.)
But an 18" bulls-eye at 725 yards would be so small that the front sight would almost cover it. It would be very difficult to center such a small bulls-eye in the rear aperture - it's easier to shoot the center out of a large bulls-eye than to shoot a small bulls-eye that's no bigger than the groups you're getting.
Incidendally, Sierra, I was hoping that you would comment on www.sniperflashcards.com, as you seem to be the resident shooting expert on the DP.

and I heard a bit about hunting, but what was really perking my ears were all those brits and their views....and, uhhhm, let's see....oh yeah!!!!, all that talk about how gun crime was going through the roof, and now the bobbies are armed, and the courts seem to be favoring the criminals, yeah.... that was kind of interesting.

Bobbies are armed?
The vast majority of them don't have a firearm. However, they do have an array of non-lethal weapons.
In fact, it is pretty rare to see an actual police officer patrol the streets in Britain. We do have large numbers of "police community support officers" however, who are not police officers. They are security officers in faux police uniforms who have no powers of arrest.

when you say most aren't armed. There is no such thing as an unarmed cop here. Or DEA and FBI agents, or even park rangers. A lot of the IRS agents are as well. Ain't freedom grand? HAHA, its really more like FemDom over here, the nanny state is so damn thick.
