I have been doing a similar thread on RP Forums that has proven to be popular and very helpful to both the readers and to the C4L as we seek feedback on the rally, the organization, and the mission moving forward.
So when Michael asked me if I would be willing to do an update/Q&A thread for Daily Paul, I jumped at the opportunity. So ask and I will, when propriety or necessity allow me, answer your questions fully. When, for any reason, I can't answer a question, I will tell you that as well. Thanks to everyone for your continuing commitment to Dr. Paul, the C4L, and the freedom movement.

Will the Campaign for Liberty be capturing their own video of the day's events? Does the Target Center offer capabilities for quality video capture? This is a historic moment and all the speeches should be made available on DVD to patriots that aren't able to attend for whatever reason. IMHO, you can't count on any MSM to record or broadcast a factual representation of the excitement soon to be unleashed. For Freedom, Prosperity, and Peace— let the r3volution commence.

Don, What kind of advertising is being done
in and around Minn./St Paul to advertise the Rally? Any radio /tv spots, good sized newspaper ads?

I am volunteering for most of the day, except I made it clear I want to be in my seat and listen to all the speeches. They had no problem with that at all. I left a message with Marianne Stebbins, Logistics Coordinator to see what they still need. Feel free to contact me too.

I hope the Rally sells-out, but is that realistically going to happen? I was worried before, now I'm getting more worried...If we don't sell the place out the MSM is going to jump all over that fact to make the movement seem illegitimate...

Once again thanks for being here and answering all our questions. Could give us a general overview of the expenses for the Rally now that the performers have been announced? I just got an email from the campaign saying that this was going to be a million dollar event. I was just wondering if you could give us an overview of the really big ones.

Any YouTube video segment at the rally on a Big Screen?
Will there be approx. 15-20 min YouTube segment of a videos to show at the Rally to get us fired up and remind us of why we joined this movement. Just an idea. We want the crowd even more fired up and inspired to keep the movement going. Here are a few that I like:

I arrive in Minneapolis on Sunday and will be working with the technical team to determine what, when and how to integrate some of this material in the program. There will be a 12 minute video that we produced as part of the official C4L roll-out at the event

I hope there is also some music to pump us up. Like a NFL stadium during a big game. I'm not talking about the musical acts, I'm talking about there being no down or dead moments in between speakers or anything. I know RP is not a flashy type, but we need to sell and market ourselves baby! Pump up the volume to get us fired up. I missed this when I went to hear him speak. we created our own cheers and excitement, but some music and lights and video would have been great.

I would hope he wouldn't be invited. I couldn't see him supporting Dr. Paul regardless. Dr. Paul doesn't reflect his overall views.

Lack of support.
Hi Don,
I thought you should know that my request to DH at C4L resulted in no help. I had requested emailing of ticketed rally attendees on the N.E. charter bus route. About 380 people as of the 9th when I made the request.
The bus is now dead due to lack of ticket sales. I am dissapointed and so are those who were looking forward to riding with 50 like minded activists.
It is this lack of initiative on the part of C4L/R4R that makes me wonder how the "grass roots" can succeed on a national level.

Possible solution...
If you haven't come up with one... Use the Ronvoy before too late or you organize with a few and rent 15 passenger vans, collect money, map out your route, start a thread here or somewhere about convoys and there you go. Self reliance is the key so your not disappointed when others fail. Just a suggestion. It's what I did.

Dr paul said that this event
was the most important thing hes done in his career in politics and wants everybody to attend. Well what is going to happen there, because if its just the rally with speakers saying how we need to go back to less government and how they lie to us, then in no way is this the most important thing hes done in his political career. Same goes on if he just plans on endorsing someone, its not the most important thing hes done. So what is going to happen at the rally that makes this event the most important thing hes done? His work for 30 years in congress is a pretty big thing to top? So unless he plans on taking the country back by announceing a run for the presidency somehow i dont see what could make this his most important thing hes done over the years. And yes he has refered to this as more important than anything hes ever done in politics. http://www.campaignforlib... every year there is someone preaching the government is bad lecture so doing it again isnt going to make that much of an impact i wouldnt be able to call this "most important". Important because it should be heard but everybody has heard a little bit of it atleast, its just they choose to believe it or dont and ask not to hear anymore. Unless theres a legitimate candidate for people to pick they wont pick the less-govt candidate. So please what is going to happen at this particular event to propel it to the most important thing ever?

is that he was referring to the organization of Campaign for Liberty as being the culmination of his career! Not that "something announced during the event is going to be the culmination" it is the official kick off for the Campaign for Liberty" itself that is the "important" thing he is refering to! We have awakened the necessary 5% of the nation and that signifies the tipping point for the success of this movement going forward! The rally at this crucial timing is very important so as to take advantage of the momentum that has been gained during the campaign in order to continue the growth of awareness, education and activism we need!
Thats my take on it..
and maybe we are going to be the start of a whole new party!?

I think that's right. Dr. Paul sees Campaign for Liberty as the vehicle for change and its official launch on September 2nd as culmination of all of his work. He also recognizes the importance of the speech. My specific words to him were, "Sir, this is your legacy speech. I can set the stage, but you must deliver an "I have a dream" call to our nation."

There are many great guys at the moment, Bob Barr for instance, and Ron Paul is the "original". And the Rally for the Republic is the "Original".;)

I am happy to report that Carol is better every day. I spoke with Dr. Paul on Friday and he sounded much more upbeat. As for your question, it is a good one, but unfortunately it is not an area that I have any authority in. In fact, aside from an oversight responsibility for the facility and the logistics, I have no role in that event whatsoever. All I can do is ask you to contact Debbie.

Thanks, maybe you could tell her to read and ANSWER her email and telephone messages, as I have already contacted "her" (shall we say the ethernet and answering machine) on two occasions. I would appreciate that if you see her. "Persistence is fertile", is what I always say...so I am just following that credo.
