Another article by politico Doug Wead about Ron Paul's vision and why he is dfferent from other politicians.
Doug Wead, a Reagan and Bush Sr. operative and the guy who coined the phrase "compassionate conservative" will be speaking in Minneapolis.

What was he getting at with this statement?
"Take, for example, drunk driving. We are literally slaughtering thousands, needlessly, every year, a death toll that surpasses any recent war. It would alarm our imaginary interplanetary observer. Is it a type of societal suicide?"
What does he expect government to do? It's not like there isn't laws on the books and they are not being enforced. If you kill someone in a drunken driving accident, you will be charged with vehicular manslaughter and serve many years in jail, have a felony on your record, lose your driving privileges(that is what the government calls it) for life, pay steep fines, and will most likely be sued by the victim's next of kin. Does he want politicians to make the punishment even more severe? History has shown it will not make a difference. People will break the law no matter what the government does or the personal risk involved because they believe they will not be caught. American prisons house hundreds of thousands of inmates who knew the severity of the punishment for the crime they were going to commit but went ahead and committed the crime anyway.
I love Doug Wead
but I don't think Ron Paul is a prophet. I don't think it takes/or took a prophet to figure out what was going to happen and is now happening in the US.
I think Ron Paul is an extremely intelligent, brave, determined, principled hero who thinks for himself, refuses to be owned and is what we all thought we were at one time or another in our lives. But this isn't as literary! Much easier to get the point across simply to call him a prophet. :)
He said he would accept the nomination if we get it for him. Please, let's get it for him.

Well, I never heard
anyone speak like Dr. Paul and he walks the talk. I suppose it is so rare that people would think a person is a prophet. Glad to hear he will be speaking in Minneapolis. Peace

I wish he would have written a little more about it, though. But so many people don't have the ability to read beyond a few paragraphs before they are bored so maybe this is just what is needed.
