I saw dubyu and condi's press conference, hmm, humanitarian efforts in this region's gotta happen. Russia is kickin some butt down there and they didn't start the conflict,the way I see it. What I grasp is that M Saakashvili, isn't being too honest. We (the U.S) are going to air lift support to the people of georgia WOW, that's great, they need it, happy to do it but here's the point. We don't send C130's full of aid without air support. Such as F18 and 16'ns and stuff, in to Russian hard fought air space. Thats the rub,we don't need to be so implicated. I don't want to see the headlines U.S fighter shot down over Georgia

that Russia was agitating the war and that Georgia was the savior to the innocent Ossentians. I don't know what to believe. Who side is Ossentia on??

go to russiatoday.ru and learn the truth. Russia is not agitating the war. The US media and their cohorts in our government are agitating the war. Ossetians are consider Russian citizens. If it wasn't for the Russian troops rolling in there probably wouldn't be any Ossetians left. On the first day Georgian troops were seen wearing white arm bands to deceive the Ossetian citizens that they were peace keepers and then killed the people in cold blood. They killed 10 Russian peace keepers. The people of Ossetia said that the churches we specifically targeted because the Georgian troops knew that is where the Ossetians would try to take shelter. Some churches were burned to the ground with the people inside. It isn't all Georgians that are evil, just like in this country. We don't condone what our military and our leaders do killing thousands of innocent people. People in Ossestia care about the Georgians, they just hate their murderous military.

A humanitarian disaster rather than a military victory was an integral part of this NATO planned scenario. The objective was to destroy the provincial capital, while also inflicting a significant loss of human life. US-NATO military and intelligence planners invariably examine various "scenarios" of a proposed military operation-- i.e. in this case, a limited Georgian attack largely directed against civilian targets, with a view to inflicting civilian casualties.
If the objective were to restore Georgian political control over the provincial government, the operation would have been undertaken in a very different fashion, with Special Forces occupying key public buildings, communications networks and provincial institutions, rather than waging an all out bombing raid on residential areas, hospitals, not to mention Tskhinvali's University.
The war on Southern Ossetia was not meant to be won, leading to the restoration of Georgian sovereignty over South Ossetia. It was intended to destabilize the region while also triggering a US-NATO confrontation with Russia.
On July 12, coinciding with the outset of the Georgia-US war games, the Russian Defense Ministry started its own military maneuvers in the North Caucasus region. The usual disclaimer by both Tblisi and Moscow: the military exercises have “nothing to do” with the situation in South Ossetia. (Ibid)
Let us be under no illusions. This is not a civil war. The attacks are an integral part of the broader Middle East Central Asian war, including US-NATO-Israeli war preparations in relation to Iran.

We're at war with Russia, they just don't feel we need to know..
I believe it's Americans fighting Russians in Georgia. We had 1000 troops there last week... I know they didn't leave. We've had troops there since 2002, fighting 'terrorists'. They even had the nerve to try to tell us there were radical al quaeda there to warrant the troops. Of course, the 'radicals' they were talking about were the seperatists in South Osettia and other independent enclaves. Saakashvili is a US puppet, I'm afraid.
That being said, I saw this video earlier on the Russia Today site. It seems a little set-up to me. I don't really trust any Russian media, and the guy, although he has an American accent, still somewhat chops his sentences. The only Americans anywhere near the fighting are corporate media and military.

There is no doubt that Georgia stuck first, every report, except those by the MSM, has reported that Georgia struck first. The Georgian president is the equivalent to Sedam, and I hope he is charged with genocide.

An American mercenary has been captured by Russian forces along with a number of Georgian soldiers according to a report from the Russian news website Izvestia, providing more evidence that the U.S. and NATO are covertly supporting the Georgian army in a proxy war with Russia.
According to the report, the mercenary is an African-American who is a NATO instructor and an ordinance specialist. He has now been transferred to the Russian base of Vladikavkaz.
The story also backs up previous reports of dead black Americans having been found in Tskhinvali, the capital city of South Ossetia.

From what I understand
Russia had been promoting the area of Georgia to break away for months and months, and it was actually called out by the Georgian Prez months ago that this would happen. The area that Russia wanted to break away is oil rich and Russia wanted this portion for themselves. So when the area in question began to break away and sever ties the Georgia government sent in forces to gain control.
Wether or not Georgia was right or wrong in their sending military to the breakaway region does not matter. What does matter is that Russia maintain a non-interventionist policy and not attack other countries, and that the US do the same and get out of Iraq.
