There seems to be a lot of confusion over the situation in Georgia.

Last month, the United States, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Ukraine conducted Immediate Response 2008, a joint training exercise said to be in “spirit of the NATO Partnership for Peace program,” according to Blackanthem Military News. Russia seeing the writing on the wall massed it troops on the border to be able to respond to an attack on Ossetia.
Georgias defence minister is an Israli national as is their foreign secretary.
Their President is a US installed puppet.
1000 Israli merks were part of the Georgian attack force on Ossetia.
Some US merks have been captured and taken to Russia for debriefing.

In another report, a woman interviewed by Russia Today in Tskhinvali, South Ossetia, talked about the presence of Georgian troops with American insignias. “There are lots of bodies over there, a lot of people have been killed, mostly Ossetians, but also Georgians, they had American emblems on their forearms and they were in black uniforms,” she said.
Black uniforms are a trademark of Blackwater and DynCorp mercenaries.

The really troubling scenerio is that the US military is so overextended that if this situation escalates the US may use nukes.

Two more Navy Carrier Task Forces are steaming to the Persian Gulf to join the three already there.
Russian nuclear subs are in the Indian Ocean, Black sea and the Med and the Russian Navy has already sunk some Georgian ships.

Wonder what all this will lead to?

The russians are just as brutal and underhanded. In fact, they have been preparing this for a long time - note how fast they mobilized and got into Ossetia. No Army could do that without being prepared ahead of time.

At first I thought it must have been Russia attacking Georgia as Georgia is such a small country. I thought that maybe it was a bit like the Israel/Lebanon conflict where Georgia had done something small and Russia had used it as an excuse to attack Georgia. When I found out that Georgia had been involved in ETHNIC CLEANSING - attacking hospitals and civilians I was shocked!! I was less shocked when I found out that the US and Isreal* had been involved in all this. When I found out it's all to do with oil I was not surprised at all.

'till now, I've been rooting for Georgia especially since they went back to a true free republic form of goverment (at least that's what their president says); however, I think I'm not going to support either side now. Sounds like "voting for the lesser of two evils" again. I'll just have to wait for more truth to squek itself out and gain a better understanding.

This has been a long drawn out real world game of Risk. Russia showed a lot of good will by scaling back their military only to have the US triple ours. Our leaders are power hungry and this is just another move on the chess board by proxy.

Russia cannot back down from this. They are being slowly backed into a corner. It's only a matter of time until they lash out at us and honestly we deserve it.

I think we could take Russia in an all out war if it was 1 on 1. That definitely will never happen. We wouldn't only be going to war with Russia. Please take time to educate one person today. It is not Democrat vs Republican, or conservative vs liberal, or even Russia vs Georgia: It is the international banking cartel versus the rest of the humans.

This is a difficult puzzle to figure out. I've been reading interviews from people on both sides of the conflict to get an impression.

The Georgians seem to have been programmed to really like the USA and GWBush in particular; they are very disappointed right now that we aren't there in full force to support their aggression.

The Russians seem to enjoy the outrage of being victimized by the Georgian aggression (rightly so, in my opinion) and are taking this as an excellent opportunity to move forward.

My impression is also that the US government has been using Georgia as a chesspiece, and that its loyalty to Georgia is ambiguous. In chess, sometimes your knight makes a strategic advance while other times it makes strategic bait.

Pet theory: We tricked Georgia into striking so that Russia could have an excellent excuse to strike back and retake Georgia. Why "give" Georgia to the Russians? It's a consolation prize for what we're about to do to Iran.

georgia is backed by the CIA and gets all it's weapons from the US.

Georgia attacked the people of south Ossetia first and then attacked the russian trrops who were situated just outside S. ossetia.

the russian troops have gone in because what the georgians are doing is disgusting.

the georgians actually shut off the water supply over a month ago to the S. ossetia region and recently there are reports of georgian trrops driving over houses with tanks and throwing grenades into basements (of civilans!).

but every "news" source in the west will tell you its all the russians fault.
