Interesting article.
It is well written and seems to take a fairly even-handed look at a very controversial subject.
Again I would invite my brothers and sisters (for we ARE on the same team) who would characterize themselves as "9/11 truthers" to be very patient with those of us who feel that the events of 9/11 (no matter how tragic) are important primarily because of the terrible things that the Conspiracy has been able to do as a consequence.
Many more lives have been lost since then. Our liberties, our economy, and our national sovereignty have all been eroded because of 9/11. Our entire planet and all of mankind have been pushed closer to slavery at the hands of the global fascists.
THIS is the greatest crime.
THIS is the true tragedy.
THIS is what should unite us regardless of what any of us might believe about how 9/11 came about.
The crimes that occurred later were perpetrated in plain sight by our elected officials.
And all of this was done in harmony with a plan that has been public knowledge (if not publicly acknowledged) for decades.

My whole point of this post
My whole point of this post was to say that there are things that we can definitely prove and things that are still questionable and can be refuted. That is not saying that any of you are wrong. What I do know is that we are trying to bring people to this movement. It doesn't help when it seems like everything is a conspiricy. Let's be honest here, for every video that shows 9/11 is an inside job there is another that shows where the original video is wrong. Let's take what Ron Paul has given us (his amazing book and message) and get it into the hands of as many people as we can UNFILTERED without all of this add-on stuff. I have seen again and again how his book can wake people up. He gave it to us to use as a weapon and a teaching tool. He didn't tell us to show everyone the latest 9/11 video. We will not be successful if we keep sending mixed messages. We must send a clear, consise message. JMHO

I agree with all you have to say however, you and I are in the minority here on this website. At one time there were many relevant threads regarding Dr Paul and his policies. Now, I rarely come here because of the truthers. It has become one conspiracy after another.
One did not have to venture far into the MSM or the web without references to Dr Paul's supporters being "kooky", right or wrong. He even had to take critical time from a televised debate to adress a question about truthers. And ironically Ron Paul does not think 9/11 was caused by our government, although the incompetency of the government may have been a factor.
The next time I support a candidate with my time and money, I will stroll over to some of the truthers websites, find out who they support and then find someone else. IMO, truthers hurt this campaign more than any other factor.

to convince those that are already in the revolution, but i don't see supporters of Ron Paul using this as a talking point when trying to sell the R3VOLUTION to non-believers. In my opinion, people who reconsider supporting Ron Paul just because of the beliefs of a few of his supporters don't understand our movement or Ron Paul.

The evidence CANNOT be disputed
I get so sick of the term "conspiracy theorists" that I want to vomit. I have sent indisputable evidence to some of the smartest people I know. The reaction? "Hmm, interesting, I wonder why I've never heard of this before". They then they go about their everyday illusions. To me, the fraud and conspiracy evidence is so overwhelming that someone would have to have had a frontal lobotomy not to awaken to the truth.
Anyway, I now know that this post was somehow supposed to be a spoof. But it still torques me off. For those still sitting on the fence, please watch the following. The first one even floored me, but it was the only explanation that could account for 9/11 being kept a close secret by the perpetrators. If you don't watch anything, please watch the first. Every 11th of every month, my local activist group, Lone Lantern goes to the streets of Chicago and passes out thousands of DVDs for 9/11 truth. I get asked all of the time about demolitions. I respond with a question of explain WTC 7. It is an obvious demolition. Irrefutible. Most people dont know that a third building collapsed that day. We wrangle in more truthers every month by pointing out WTC 7. Our group has been growing. And when they start to look at 9/11 they almost always come around to become huge Dr. Paul supporters.

Maybe, but I also know quite a few people who started getting interested in Dr. Paul and his message and pulled back because of all the 9/11 conspiracy stuff. I still believe we should stick to what we can PROVE. We have enough ammunition in Dr. Paul's book to teach thousands. We shouldn't chase them away with unproven theories.

It is provable that WTC 7 didnt collapse by fires alone. And to make this clear. We dont cross promote. We either do a Dr. Paul street action, or we do a 9/11 street action. Its just that the group is largely proped up with libertarian minded people that new comers end up finding Dr. Paul. The 9/11 truth movement has done great things for bringing in Paul supporters. We are very dedicated to the freedom message. Dont get me wrong. There are extremely pushy 9/11 truthers out there. And they arent all right in there conspiracies. I often have to do damage control when some members send a new comer packing after promoting their "no-planes hit the towers" theory. I think that is complete garbage. And I also dont beleive that just because it is in a film makes it truth. There are many conspiracy theories out there that an educated and smart person couldnt possilby think is true. But we should welcome everyone with open arms who is willing to open there mind even a little bit.

Yes....Ron Paul can't speak about 9/11 being an inside job, though in countless interviews with biased reporters (like Fox News), neutral reporters, Alex Jones, and his own supporters he has denied his belief in that theory, BUT he can avoid alienation when he speaks about blowback (remember the Giuliani and Hannity and Colmes outcry?), destroying the Federal Reserve, the income tax being illegal, abolishing the IRS, abolishing the Department of Education, bringing every single US soldier home form overseas, dropping out of NATO and the UN, ending all embargos, etc, etc.
Yes....all those things are normal and brought up in daily conversations among Republicans and Democrats, whereas 9/11 truth is just too far out there. Whatever.

Although, I agree that "ole" cammy there is a "______"(insert whatever condiscending term you like). I dont think that Ron Paul secretly agrees with 9/11 truth. He quotes Michael Scheuer alot. I have had the opportunity to sit down and talk with Mr. Scheuer. He was the head of the Bin Ladne CIA unit and head of Black Ops for the CIA. He was a 22 year veteran of the agency. He puts the case for blowback out there. I dont agree with him and we had a very civil arguement about it. I asked "What about building 7" He didnt have much to say on the subject.
But, to say that Dr. Paul might secretly think 9/11 was an inside job is slightly misleading. I dont think he beleives both the official story or our truther perspective either. He does support a new investigation though and has publicly said so.

And his support for a new investigation stems from two beliefs (that I agree with, and are true): 1) The government really dropped the ball on 9/11. Nothing was done to prevent it, they handled it poorly, the clean up was messy, and they tried to cover their own mistakes....and 2) the terrorists attack the US because of past historical events. A new investigation would certainly lead to the realization that America's chickens were coming home to roost, and that our actions DO go punished around the world. This would support demands from troop removal in the Middle East and hopefully a shift towards noninterventionist foreign policy.

The article actually makes the case and gives evidence for an inside job, and it does not provide any refutations whatsoever.

I agree with you. It seems like it's in disguise because it doesn't have any hip music to draw the reader into the sensational world of propaganda.
Truthers would be wise to follow this example. You can actually discuss 9/11 without using the tactics of propaganda, and your credibility can increase, too.

Although the title may suggest it as a hit piece, it does a fairly good job of discounting the official bullshit conspiracy theory of 911... you know the one about the 19 Arabs living in caves and the old man on a dialysis machine took down the buildings and outwitted our air defense. The howstuffworks article does NOT support the official bullshit theory about 911. It shows a lot of information about the alternative theories. I thought it was pretty well written.

I share your argument and view. Once I thought about the lateral motion of the debris, my paradigm of the "fall" shifted. I don't see a building falling; I see a building erupting.
With all that energy directed laterally, is there enough energy left over in the downward direction to cause the floors above to crush the floors below?
I don't know what a pancake collapse of a tall skyscraper is supposed to look like. Wouldn't it be cool if there were a tall skyscraper that we could experiment with?

To the extent that "How Stuff Works" has any influence on public opinion, this article sounded to me like a rational suggestion that a new investigation into 9/11 is called for. Many legitimate questions are still unanswered in the realm of "on the record and official" versions of the story.
Does it ever bother you that your perception of "The Truth" comes not from direct experience but through photocopies of second hand accounts?
Here's one mental construction of our situation: The shadow government had to do something terrifying (orchestrate 9/11) in order to get the population to go along with our "Manifest Destiny." If we, the people, had the balls to invade other nations openly and honestly, they wouldn't have had to kill 3000 of us on a single day to spark us into action.
The peace and love that we cherish is a consequence of successful aggression. The lioness and her cubs purr and a play with each other as a consequence of slaughtering the gazelle.
For some reason, the human mind has trouble processing this kind of ambiguity. We want things to be categorized as either black or white, evil or good. In reality, destruction and creation are intimately linked to one another.

The thing that I don't understand is why is it so hard to believe that we (as a nation) have been pissing people off for a long time with our arrogance and they came up with a plan to hit us back.
