THC is fat-soluble. Herb can be slow-cooked in butter, just like making clarified butter (ghee). The herb should be strained out after cooking. Once the clarified butter solidifies, it can be ingested along with whatever is prepared with butter (sauteed mushrooms, brownies, cookies, toast, etc). Herb-buttered toast gives new meanig to the term "wake and bake".

but I'd definitely smoke some herb with Ron Paul. And/or Doug Wead. Or any supporter of freedom and liberty.

I have seen him come around
if you read back in his blog, you will find he began as a vocal Huckabee supporter, but I think when he saw that Huckabee was taking some of his ideas from Paul, it changed his outlook. Remember this guy worked for Bush Sr so he has come a long way.
