For those wishing to utilize their free speech, but yet are cordoned off into these cages, may have an alternate course of action. None at all. Perhaps all that is needed is a photo of MANY people standing, a uniform colored shirt would most likely work best, or any assortment of red, white, and blue. More people would likely show if temporary imprisonment is removed from the table of action. Lest we force their hand. For all things that may be spoke to voice ones displeasure, only those of trivial merit will be the ones reported on and used for sound bites. But an assembly of great numbers in silent accord may be more worthwhile than a smaller number of shouting, disgruntled, and disorganized people.
The anti-fascist globalization movement grew and moved to Washington DC where I participated for the first time in civil disobedience. http://www.urban75.com/Ac...
Following DC, it spread to Quebec City and a bulwark fence made its first appearance. Activists triumphantly tore down the reviled symbol of oppression and claimed moral victory. http://www.expressnews.ua...
The movement then expanded to Genoa where a steel ring encased the militarized city and civilian battle ensued in the streets (killing a young man named Carlo Giuliani). This was July 2001. http://www.flickr.com/pho...
The DNC steel cage reminds me of similar developments and I believe the difference between now and then is the criminalization of public corporal opposition via the Patriot Act etc.
Missing the defiant spirit & direct stand of political activism then, I have practiced peaceful protest since 9/11. However, if such conditions of tyranny increase (which appears to be the case) into martial law, I am willing to give my utmost in truth & liberty.
Good luck to all at the Conventions and blessings in love!
WTF? You have got to be kidding me right? If this is true, then there IS NO FREE ELECTION PROCESS. How can there be? This guy thinks Kerry lost because he didn't say anything about the cages? Kerry lost cause the powers that be wanted it that way. You people think that we can take this country back thru the electorial process, you are deluding yourselves in my opinion. No one gets very far that wont be compromised. If they refuse, they dont move up in the game. Who are you going to complain to? Everyone is in the game and on the take. I dont think in the end we will get to have anything peaceful. I mean how can we, if they put us in a cage football fields away. Who will hear us? We will have to fight and I think all of us know its going to come down to that.
their free speech should file a lawsuit against the city of Denver, and any other government agency involved in disregarding free speech. How about a civil suit against the democratic party.
These "free speech cages" are non-violent conditioning cages for the sheople in my opinion. We don't need free speech zones or cages as explicitly expressed in the first amendment:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
The government is just conditioning us Americans into getting used to being caged up. Very similar to Nazi Germany. Today it is free speech cages and tomorrow it will be FEMA concentration "cages".
I just realized something watching this video...
I am going to MN and of course have tickets to the Campaign 4 Liberty rally at the Target Arena.
I was curious what we would be missing on Sept. 2 at the RNC while we are at the Arena most of the day?
Does anyone know the schedule for the RNC and McCain's planned appearances?
No speech needed...

"Observe the masses, and do the opposite."
