So this morning I was flipping through the news channels and stopped on Fox News as they were doing a story on Michael Phelps. They were reading off a list of things most people do not know about him that were being printed in his hometown paper. When they got to number 2, it was that he was very close friends with fellow swimmer, Erik Vendt. They went on to say that though Michael wasn't very political, his good friend Erik Vendt was a die hard Ron Paul supporter and was constantly chirping about Ron Paul into Michael's ear. Just made me smile when I saw the gold medal around Vendt's neck and knowing that he loved Dr. Paul as much as I did. Just thought you guys should know.

I've been watching the
I've been watching the Chilean news tonight and, after Phelps won the razor-thin 100 m race against Cavic, the sports commentators were saying that there are speculations about who won the race. Apparently, there was a poll out in Spain, asking who won the race. 56% thought that Cavic should've won it. There are many analysts that even say that Phelps and Cavic could each get a gold medal. As soon as I heard about this, I asked myself why didn't people speculate about the gold medals China won in Gymnastics.

When I saw our awesome young women take gold and silver for gymnastics all-around, I said to my family, "Gold and silver: first the Olympics, next our currency! At least least they see the value in gold and silver."

Micheal Phelps is not only symbolic, & well known but very easy on the eyes :). If he would be a surprise guest, oh a bunch of women and their daughters would show up. Erik Vendt's has politics as one of his pass times so he would be good to listen to and could get us fired up too. Since Mike isn't that into politics, he could give an inspirational or motivational speech. They certainly would be nice additions to the Rally if they can come.

Gary Franchi(RestoreTheRepublic.com and Republic Magazine) and I were at a Federal Reserve meeting in Chicago. We were there with press passes trying to get an interview with Ben Bernanke. We did get an interview with a PR guy from the Fed and it is interesting. MeetTheFed.com
But we were approached by people asking if we were the Ron Paul guys. And we said things like, "Well we support him, I dont know if we are the 'Ron Paul Guys."
And these people, all high powered bankers, would say things like, you souldnt believe how many of us here are with you. We just wont say it publicly.
Of course we would respond with, WHY NOT.

Gary is slow sometimes. But he's loveable.
Gary sure did milk that PR/Historian guy for everything during that interview. And the old guy was good at his job. I almost felt proud of America because he spoke with such confidence about 'our banking' system.
He also didn't seem to have a problem with having to pay a thousand dollars for a loaf of bread (due to inflation/devaluation).
That's when I snapped out of my stupor again.

is talking to him about Ossetia/Georgia/Russia right now, he very well might start listening since this is all happening during his Olympics. Essentially Phelps himself was used as a cover and distractor from what has been going on.

This really makes me smile. Vendt grew up in Easton, MA. I was friends with him back in the day when we were on a swim team together. I haven't spoken to him in years or anything but finding out he is a fan of freedom is really cool.

I didn't even watch any of this past Olympics since I don't have a TV but I saw him win the silver in the 400 IM in the past two Olympics. If I try to contact him, I'll wait until things have died down a bit.
