Day 10- Colby, WI

Hey Everyone,

I’m writing from Colby, WI, where Colby cheese was invented. There is an interesting story about the cheese that I learned from some of the residents here. Colby cheese is actually no longer made here. It was invented in the mid 1800’s and the factory produced it for many years until the government started enforcing new regulations and it had to close down. Another reason why government should stay out of the way.

From talking to people in this town today, many are upset with the way things are going. We didn’t have a really great turnout for our meeting though. We kind of fell behind in our promotion while Tony went back home to Milwaukee for a meeting, but now that he is back we can begin to promote the meetings days ahead again. I’m going to continue to work hard to get people out to these meetings every day, I can’t stress enough how powerful that presentation is.

I’m thinking of doing our own walk through Pennsylvania next year. How about from Pittsburgh to Philadelphia and arrive there on Independence Day? Who’s with me?

Ron Paul supporters make stop in Wausau:
After setting out from Lambeau Field on Aug. 11, a small group of political activists promoting the ideas of Ron Paul made their way into Wausau today.

Carrying American flags and giving away copies of the Constitution, participants in The Great American Walk for Freedom are holding a series of town hall meetings as they walk across Wisconsin. They are on their way to Minneapolis, where they will attend a political rally in support of the Texas Republican. The rally will be held concurrently with the Republican National Convention in St. Paul.

Steven Vincent, 44, of Los Angeles is one of the walk’s organizers, and he will be a moderator at a town hall meeting being held Monday at the VFW Post 388 in Wausau.

“We encountered a general sense that we’re not living up to the vision the founding fathers gave for America, and there’s a concern about getting back to that,” Vincent said.
