British Encampment on Boston Common!
I heard the rumor last night -- that the British had returned to Boston and had an encampment on the Common. After a fitful night of sleep, I went this morning to investigate with mine own eyes. Upon my arrival, all seemed well, but just as I crested the hill coming up from Frog Pond, I saw them indeed. The British! Right here on American soil!
Picture.
They were back indeed!

Reinactors they were true, but a chilling sight nonetheless to see them on our soil, and a stark reminder of what our forefathers faced in order to secure our freedom.
The Siege of Boston (April 19, 1775 - March 17, 1776) was the opening phase of the American Revolutionary War.
Six British soldiers shared each of these tiny tents I'm told:

And in the event they were injured on the battlefield, surgeons with their tools stood at the ready. There was no anesthesia, they simply worked quickly

New Englanders are not called Patriots for nothing. It was not long before our militia men took up arms against our oppressors.

A skirmish soon ensured! But the Brits they had a huge cannon!

Some of our men were lost.

They paid for our freedom with their own blood, and ultimately were triumphant. This statue of General Washington stands not far from the scene of today's battle, in Boston's public garden.
If you ever come to Boston, you absolutely must see this statue. This picture does not do it justice, but it will take your breath away.

Ahhh..
Mike sniped me. I'll repost then. Hey you see the top photo of the soldiers.. The guy to the far left is Rhino!
Oruval, I disagree
At first I could not understand what you are saying, I am a bit slow at times but I disagree that Rhino is a red coat. He is not that brave. The guys fighting the war of independence that wore red coats had clear alliances. Rhino has none. He is an island to himself and is a self promoter. There are many here that like to follow him, but whatever, some believe in fiat currency.
I will agree with you on this point. He is a troll, he spreads disinformation, but he is not a red coat, he is either stupid or a disinformation agent. I would bet on the later.
It;s time.
Kill the Bank of England now to secure freedom.
I think I would've asked for
I think I would've asked for a musket ball in the head over anything related to that hacksaw... I bet that was a pleasant sounding "instrument".
Not to diminish at all what our forefathers accomplished, but in a way I envy their circumstances. The idea of fighting the redcoats almost seems easier than convincing an apathetic population that their freedom is in jeopardy.

An outright fight would show this enemy as, laughingly...
... no match!
And THIS enemy knows that much. They/It are/is at least THAT smart. But because They ARE out of their minds lusting for power and control, only deception remains for them to play forward.
And here we are, faced with a conundrum more difficult than musket balls, hack saws, and even fisticuffs gleefully pounding through the face of Dick The Chain.
We (Americans, front and center) have been set-up to struggle with a most difficult challenge; To convince, persuade, beg and even plead to our very own brothers, sisters, friends and neighbors... that these our fellow kin and countrymen have been devilishly swindled by those we thought we could trust most. Faced with this, and metaphorically 'forced' to choose... TeeVee and cowardice has well placed our loved ones to deny US, and actually faint into the arms of well disguised slave-masters.
Diabolical and wicked, in Shakespearian proportions. "America, The Ultimate Drama"... for all the world to see.
We should be so embarrassed... if this wasn't so deadly.

So true, Erin... Probably the most insidious part is that people who share the most precious common ground are pitted against each other regarding what is truth.
"In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act."
