48 Hour Video Contest for DVD 2 - DVDs4Delegates
Hello Everyone
The National DVDs for Delegates Project is proud to make two announcements:
1. DVD 1 is complete and ships today! We will soon tell you where you can go to see it online!
2. We are holding a “48 Hour Video Contest for DVD 2”
Due to a crisis of computing, the first DVD was delayed a few days, and required Olympic energies to recreate. More on that in another announcement.
Contest:
We need people to create video snippets on the following 14 Topics:
I'm looking for “Standard Definition Resolution” (720x480 pixels) short (1 to 5 minutes max) and finished video pieces with no music, or with proposed music separated out on a separate sound file from the original on the following 13 topics:
1. The history of the delegate process,
2. The intention of the delegate process, focusing on the word and meaning of "Delegate,"
3. The history of "binding,"
4. The history of delegates unbinding themselves, and
5. A strategy for unbinding,
6. The value of holding an "authentic convention" with true and open discourse, where any delegate might request and gain 5 minutes at the mike...how much of a paradigm shift that could represent from the meaningless scripted convention that is planned.
We have plenty of good material on Ron Paul and Good material showing how bad McCain is, But, We also need a short pieces that:
7. Draw parallels between 1976 when the party picked Ford as an unwinnable candidate against Carter, when they could have picked Reagan...and today's situation with McCain as unwinnable against Obama, and a clear losing choice for the GOP this year.
8. Demonstrate the polling numbers and party registration numbers to prove McCain is unlikely to win
9. Demonstrate the extreme dissatisfaction with McCain among substantial numbers of Republicans, including the 1 million + who voted for Paul and won’t vote for McCain
10. Demonstrate the power of the converse of that, the power of making Paul the nominee and gaining the strength of the biggest grassroots movement in ages.
11. Show a recap of the stealing of the Nevada Delegates
12. Show a recap of the stealing of Louisiana delegates
13. Demonstrate how McCain is ineligible for the presidency – not natural born
14. Demonstrate how McCain violates McCain-Feingold and other Campaign Finance Reform Legislation, e.g. by hosting fundraisers on foreign soil at Rothschild’s mansions, or by exceeding the matching campaign contribution limits, while having gained the benefits of gaining them…
Formats:
Our intended resolution is Standard Definition. Our editor works in 720x480 pixels, using .MOV files. Then he renders the DVDs for Television.
Thus, our preferred format is .MOV at 720x480. We can render from other formats, but that adds time to our effort.
One can submit by giving us a link to their youtube.com or other video, but they must have available a copy at the resolution we need.
Deadline:
48 hours from this posting—sooner is appreciated. You can go to www.dvds4delegates.com and hit the “upload” button to upload a submission. Or, you can email evanalaska@aol.com to request FTP instructions—you will need your own FTP client.
Prizes:
First Prize: $200 for the best video + 5 DVDs
Second and Third Prizes: $100 each for the next best two videos + 5 DVDs each
Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Seventh Prizes: $50 Each for the next best four videos + 5 DVDs each
Eighth through 14th Prizes: $0.00 each plus 5 DVDs Each.
We can also issue you a printable certificate of appreciation, listing your prize.
Look, I know it’s not much. As it is, we need more money from donors, but it’s fair to reward superior effort – and we need your help. Frankly, there is too much to do on our own.
The real prize is knowing in your heart that your increment may help change the world.
Our cover design contest was really successful, so we thought letting you all know what we need might help.
Please feel free to share this message on other forums where people care about freedom, peace, and prosperity.
Thank you!
Evan Cutler

DVDs For Delegates Contest, Extension and Addition
=======================================
Do you have a short video clip, anywhere from 10 seconds to 5 minutes long, that you really think should be on the next DVD to Delegates?
We'd love to have it ! We've chosen our major outline and topics, but now we'd like to open the floor to the whole Ron Paul community - together, you can find and get gems of video that would otherwise take a million years to find!
Our preferred format is .mov files (it takes us a fairly long time to convert other formats into this one), the preferred resolution is 720x480 pixels ("Standard Definition Resolution"), and the video clip must be short; no longer than 5 minutes, and preferably in the less-than-3-minute range.
Go to www.dvds4delegates.com and hit the “upload” button to upload a submission. Or, you can email evanalaska@aol.com to request FTP instructions — you will need your own FTP client.
Deadline: The deadline has been extended 24 hours, but we never know when the next batch of footage could come in handy, so if in doubt, please send it in!
Just remember, this project has to be out the door ASAP, within the next few days, so please, get your suggested video clips to us as soon as you can!
Prizes: $80 for 1rst place, $40 for second place, $20 for third place
Thank you for helping; whether you win or not, we are doing this because it is something we believe in, and we are grateful for your help.
Peace, Freedom, Prosperity!
Don't mean to sound like a troll!
But does anyone else smell something fishy about this project? Something to the tune of $50,000 was collect to send out 4 "professional" DVDs. Now I see that only one DVD has just been finished only 2 weeks before the convention, which hasn't been shipped out yet. Now you are asking for user submitted videos from many different people, who may or may not be experts or even creditable on the subject. How is that professional quality? And I read that the 3rd DVD will just be copies of the "Freedom to Fascism" and other movies that will be handed out at the Convention Hotels to the delegates. How do they even know which hotels all of the delegates are staying at? And do they expect delegates to stay in there hotel rooms, while in a different city, and watch DVDs?
God, I pray my assumptions are wrong and this doesn't go the way of "Ron Paul Racing" or the countless other dud projects.
200 bucks for a prize?
seriously?
Apparently you are not helping
If you had at any moment became involved you would realize the amount of effort being put forward by many people. The reason why it got down to the situation it's in, is because there was a great deal FUD since the beginning of the project. This was intended to be a very easy task, if supported by local meetup groups and all of the talented people the Revolution has brought out. But the FUD spreaders and trolls pretty much killed the support this project should have had. Because of the lack of support, acquiring delegate names and addresses became a major part of the project, less time was able to be focused on content collection and refining. Unless you are playing a role, you shouldn't be judgemental.
G. Edward Griffin is part of this project and has spoken out about it. And -you- still spread FUD. It's quite sad. People would probably spread FUD even if Aaron Russo himself came out and sponsored this project. It's up to you as an individual to investigate and decide if a project is worthy. If you don't like a project, don't participate. So unless you have evidence of a project being fraudulent, just hush and don't put out negative vibes about it, it does far more harm than good.
Really?
So -you- are saying that things need to be proven before they can be publicly questioned? Well I say that EVERYTHING should be questioned and if things are not fradulent then there should be no problems answering such questions.
And how do -you- suggest that one go about individually investigating and deciding whether a project is legit if one is not to publicly ask questions about the legitimacy of the project?
And for the record I never said that I did not like this project or that I thought it was fradulent, and again I pray that it is not, but only that things don't seem to be going as they were first described when request were made for donations.
And as far as me doing more harm than good, -you- yourself would have done more good if you would of just answered my questions instead of attacking me. I would have to assume that I am not the only person on this board that is hesitant in donating money to a cause. We all here want to see Dr. Paul elected and we all have a limited amount of funds that are spareable and we all want to make sure that they are used the most efficiently. When I see a statement asking for more money so DVDs can be distributed to delegates at thier hotels in St. Paul, why shouldn't that be questioned? How in the world will anyone know where all of the delegates are staying?
Also, I will do a little more individual investigation. I am in contact with several delegates and alternates to the National Convention from my state, and I will asking them to let me know when they receive the first DVD in thier mailbox.
I look forward to watching the live broadcast of the frist DVD tonight.
I'd about given up on it
I'd about given up on it myself.
I'm assuming it's just that the organizers bit off a bigger job than they thought they had and rejoicing that they got one done before the convention. Video production is NOT cheap or easy.
