'America's Outrageous War Economy!'

by PAUL B. FARRELL | Marketwatch.com

Pentagon can't find $2.3 trillion, wasting trillions on 'national defense'

ARROYO GRANDE, Calif. (MarketWatch) -- Yes, America's economy is a war economy. Not a "manufacturing" economy. Not an "agricultural" economy. Nor a "service" economy. Not even a "consumer" economy.

Seriously, I looked into your eyes, America, saw deep into your soul. So let's get honest and officially call it "America's Outrageous War Economy." Admit it: we secretly love our war economy.

Well, it is a good article

Well, it is a good article for the sheep who do not read it as wool is pulled over their eyes...
War is not in MY DNA..I come from a long line of revolutionary peasant stock.

Of course it's true...

If it weren't, RP would have a lock on the presidency and we wouldn't be discussing any of our country's woes.

As more and more of the sheeple wake up to the fact they are being bled dry, it may become more difficult for the powers-that-be to get away with it but for now, as long as Joe Sixpack is happy on the couch watching the olympics, we are doomed to suffer bad candidates, bad presidents and bad times.

Oooooo! Oprah's on! Gotta go.

I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...

F*** you, Farrell

And "Who you calling 'we', white man?"

His whole piece is based on a set of standard mistakes of the collectivist mentality, including:
- The individuals are all clones of the average.
- The actions of the governing class reflect the desires of the governed.

As for apathy among the ruled he's obviously not been paying attention - to the millions raised and actions planned and executed by us Paulites, to the demonstrations against the war by the rank-and-file Democrats, just for starters. Or to a plethora of other signs of non-agreement with, and resistance to, the machine. (Or else he's deliberately ignoring it.)

The Ron Paul revolution alone is drawing percentages and levels of support from the young of the country comparable to those that drove the original revolution against England to success.

As for "trillions missing" in the war: Fortunes of war. (Pun appropriate.) Lots of stuff goes missing in war, both to enemy action and to graft. "Midnight requisition" and black markets are a way of life when the whole POINT of the exercise is for each side to try to destroy or corrupt any and all aspects of the infrastructure of the other until one throws in the towel.

I think you missed the

I think you missed the point, and you and I, aren't his target audience.

The Russians also took with them four Humvees that were at the port awaiting shipment back to the United States after taking part in earlier US-Georgian military exercises.

Too late!

If the braniacs on Wall St. had figured this out say, 15 years ago we might not be in the mess we're in. Instead they decided to "make hay while the sun shines" and make as much off our unsustainable economy as possible, no matter what the cost to future generations.
