Why I MIGHT have To Vote For McCain

I have certainly worked to get Ron Paul elected. I will continue to do so unless or until there is just no more chance of him being the nominee. I think he is the only real chance we have to set things right.

IF Dr. Paul is NOT the nominee, then decisions must be made.

If the Democratic nominee were a known quantity, like say, Al Gore,
I might be able to cast my vote for a Bob Barr, or a Chuck Baldwin,
or a Ron Paul write-in in order to make a point. NONE of these options have much chance of success, and the Democrats would probably win.

I would not be happy about that, but it might not be the end of the world.

HOWEVER - we are looking at Barack Hussein Obama as the likely Democratic nominee.

The thoughts of his election to the presidency are both unspeakable and unthinkable.

I sincerely believe that an Obama presidency COULD be the end of the world.

I know that Dr. Paul himself has said that voting for the lesser of two evils is not a viable strategy. I am no fan of John McCain.
BUT he is probably the only one with a chance to beat Obama at this stage.

Therefore, if we cannot get Ron Paul as a nominee, and it comes down to Obama vs McCain, i will probably have to hold my nose and vote for Johnny Mac - ALTHOUGH, I will try very hard to remember that I am more like voting AGAINST Obama Yo Mama.

I would.......

not agree with you dude!
Thats the same propaganda B.S. train they are running and your running down the station trying to jump aboard.
If your a McCain supporter coming on here making it seem like your a Dr. Paul supporter, than you got another thing comin' there guy!
We are not going to give in to McShitstain McCain, we are not weak minded, and it took us a awhile to get here and it will not be unhinged for just "well, do we really want this or that to happen!?!?!"

After holding your nose......

Kiss your ass good bye!!

Remember when McCain called

Remember when McCain called RP an appeaser to hitler in a debate? Remember that look on his face? McCain is smiling right now and thanking you for your vote.

If you still think your vote

If you still think your vote counts, then you have a long way to go before understanding what's really going on. For years, (and probably decades) our 'presidents' have been pre- chosen, and are bought and paid for long before people waste their time punching buttons on a "liebold" machine. Until we use paper ballots, counted by hand, in public, we will get who the Bildibergs and CFR ass-clowns put on the throne.

Here's something to think about from Prison Planet:

"The Daily Show live from the White House

The Bush Regime imbeciles don't know when to stop. With the world still rolling in laughter from John McCain's claim that "in the 21st century nations don't invade other nations," the moronic US secretary of state declared: "This is not 1968 and the invasion of Czechoslovakia, where Russia can threaten a neighbor, occupy a capital, overthrow a government and get away with it. Things have changed."

This from Condi Rice who is "proud" of the Bush Regime's invasion of Iraq.

This is not 1968. It is 40 years later, and roles have reversed. In the 21st century it is the United States that invades countries, occupies capitals, overthrows governments, and gets away with it.

The criminal Bush Regime has sent out its flunkies to huff and puff because Russia put its foot down against American hegemony on its border. Take your aggression elsewhere, the Russians said. We did not free constituent parts of our empire in order for them to become constituent parts of an American empire.

For years the Bush Regime has been fodder for the Daily Show. Condi Rice's inane statement will keep the laughter rolling."

Apparently, this type of foriegn policy is unacceptable unless WE are the ones doing it. The Bush regime's hypocracy is only surpassed by its hypocracy.

If you can't see how the system works by now I doubt if you will ever learn. I am getting pretty old (63), and if there's ever been a president elected and chosen by the people, I can't remember one. They have all been Republican or Democrat. Insiders of Washington D.C.............

A vote for McCain is a Vote for Obama

Until libertarians, republicans, and patriots overwhelmingly vote against the Demoblican Phony Choice, we'll get more of the same.

Give Me Liberty or Give Me Gridlock

Oh Yeah!

Now there something I can get excited about - voting for the guy who wants to re-start the cold war with Russia - Great idea! - And to quote you Mr. Cantor "I sincerely believe that an Obama presidency COULD be the end of the world." I think it is equally likely with McCain at the helm. - While I agree with you that Obama could ruin the country - I just see McCain as an equally bad option, so - I am still holding out for a Ron Paul miracle at the convention, and failing that will vote in protest for Bob Barr - Maybe the Republican Party will realize the errors of its ways and win me back in four years. Maybe.

I will vote as Ron Paul

tells me to.

P.S. - It won't be a vote for McCain.

It's a complete toss-up

I'm voting for Ron Paul, via absentee write in. That's the only way for me.

If I had to pick...I would really have a tough time doing so. It's a question of would you like to expand our empire (McCain) or would you like to extend our welfare state (Obama).

Would we like to completely burn our image around the world and get one step closer to becoming the evil empire everyone hates.... (McCain)

Or...would we like to promise hundreds of millions of Americans that we will pay their doctor bills forever, along with feeding them if they don't want to work, promising to feed them in their old age. (Obama)

That's why I choose to "waste" my vote on someone I really think would help our country...because I wouldn't know which of these two yahoo's are the lesser of two evils.

Vote your conscience in November. I guess if I were forced to choose, I'd take BHO, but only because I really don't want to see more American kids die in the desert, and don't want to see millions of people in Iran get bombed to death.

Remember folks...it took 4 years of Jimmy Carter to make America think that Ronald Reagan might just be electable after all. Maybe 4 years of socialist collectivism and disrespect for the free market will make Americans realize that there's a better choice.

I wouldn't vote for McCain

even if he was running against Hilter

me either

McCain would be about as endearing as Bush and more irratable than Hitler

Don't waste your vote, it will give the wrong impression.

If you vote for McCain or Obama because you have no other choice, it will appear that they have real support from the people. If you can write in Ron Paul do it; or if no other choice vote for the most conservative 3rd party that reflects your ideas. Imagine, if McCain gets 33% of the vote, Obama gets 32% of the vote and the other parties collectively get the balance, than neither one could claim that they got even close to a majority of the support from the American public.

Great Point

You hit the nail on the head with that.

gtfo

if youre going to try to rationalize your way into swinging a vote for mccain because you think obama would bring doomsday, here of all places, you might as well be taking a big dump on the faces of all of us who are willing to sacrifice our vote to write in a candidate, support a third party candidate or otherwise stick it to the two party machine by somehow voting 'no fucking thank you'.

If we're going to be brutally honest here (*looks around*) it is this very exact rationale by which the average american voter presents themselves with which enslaves them to the very two party machine we're all so desperate to defeat. And as such, following through with your rationale would make you no less ignorant of a voter as the droves of people who think mccain knows more about economics than an earthworm, or are voting for obama because he doesnt like offshore drilling or any of the other pointless, baseless conceptions by which people choose their media inflated, party boss elected republo-cratic candidates election year after election year after freaking election year.

the worlds gonna end if obama is elected president? i thought people in this forum were a little smarter than this as to be so naive to think that any one party propped candidate is any better or worse than the next.

obama sux

but a vote for mccain is a vote to approve and legitimize

the patriot act
unconstitutional wars
preemptive wars
neocon agenda

just to name a few...

This is tantamount to treason

Anyone that would vote McCain after all we have gone through deserves what he gets. I for one would never ever think such a thought. I won't tell you what to do but when things go south I wouldn't want my name associated with a vote for McShame. Viva La Revolution

You have not learned a thing.

Principle would involve you not voting for McSame.

you'd be the only one!

seriously, what?

~peace

You've got to be kidding me.

You've got to be kidding me. McCain is worst than bush and has almost the complete opposite platform to Ron Paul. Ron Paul HIMSELF said Obama has a closer stance to him.

McCain will only take us into another war with Iran, destroy the economy and see through the end of the United States of America.

The scumbags wrecking our country thank you...

...for deciding to vote for what you feel to be the lesser of two evils they've decided they can trust to continue to screw us over.

You want to be an asshat? Go ahead and vote for 'the lesser of two evils'. Why don't you make your vote count instead?

Exactly!

Voting for McCain or Obama after being a Ron Paul supporter negates everything good you've done for the movement.

The :"elites" thank you for submitting to the "fear" they've placed in front of you.

Many people who are

Many people who are supporting McCain are doing so not because they like McCain but because they are Republicans and they do not want the Democrat to win.

I've had many people tell me through the course of discussion that they don't understand why the GOP passed on other much better candidates, but nonetheless they will be voting for McCain to support the Republican side.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out this next part.... Go on YouTube and you will find videos of thousands of people who say they are voting for Obama because he is black. Black is the reason for supporting him for many people who got on camera. It's nothing to do with his policies for them. Without a doubt, there are just as many or more people who will be voting for McCain in order to vote against the 'black' candidate. For many this election will be as simple as black/white.

For me, I absolutely and most definitely will not be voting for Obama. I believe he is the greater of the evils. I really don't want to support McCain, either, but I might. Baldwin and Barr really have very little going for them IMO. They might be more like RP, but they simply do not have that same *fire* in their hearts or maybe it is our hearts that is the problem. The only chance Barr or Baldwin have in gaining the support of the majority of our revolution would be via endorsement from Ron Paul. Until that time I'm thinking that I might be cringing at the polls in November, sick to my stomach that I voted for McCain, the lesser of the evils, so that the greater evil did not get elected.

mccain blog points

How many mccain blog points did you get for spouting the lesser or two evils approach to voting? What kind of cool prizes will you get from the JM campaign? Tshirts, hats?

Remember, Mccain is a liberal democrat in disguise. Gun Owners of America rate Mccain lower than Obama! http://www.gunowners.org/...

Barack Hussein Obama?

What I find most hilarious in your post is that you threw Hussein in there for effect.

Sure, you'll claim that you didn't. "Hey, that's just his name."

Yeah, right.

In my experience so far, those who mention the "Hussein" part, are invariably thinking that his name has something to do with him not being electable. You're part of the roughly 10-12% of people who think that he's a muslim and "oh, you can't trust muslims because of 9/11....yadayada"

Go ahead, keep discriminating for the dumbest of reasons. Stick to the issues, like the rest of your post.

Why should Obama's middle

Why should Obama's middle name be hidden? Seems that is what many people are trying to do - hide the truth.

Obama has lots of issues with his name. Who's this Barry Soetoro guy I've read mentioned in articles about Obama way too often recently? Some people are saying that Barry Soetoro = Obama.....? Sounds crazy, but it might be true. Is Barry Soetoro his alias? Is it his legal name? Did he change his name, legally, to Barack Obama?

Then how about all that stuff regarding his birth certificate being proved a forgery? Here's one site that goes into detail on that issue: http://atlasshrugs2000.ty...

Maybe his real birth certificate has the name Barry Soetoro? Or maybe he wasn't even born in Hawaii at all....

>> Why should Obama's middle

>> Why should Obama's middle name be hidden?

Its not hidden, its just its being thrown around for the sole purpose that it happens to be a Muslim name and also the last name of Saddam Hussein. Do you see people waving around John McCain's middle name? Do you even know what it is?

I see your point

But at the same time Islam doesn't really go well with America, especially with the current wars.

That would be like electing a Japanese American after Pearl Harbor and it does prove a certain point.

You

are not related to Eric Cantor?
Voting for McCain would be just as a mistake as voting form Obama. If you vote fir McCain, the message that you send is that you agree with his basic policies, wars and more wars, amnesty etc. Think about it, is there not already a mixed economy and sort of socialism?
Vote the direction you think the GOP should go into. So if Barr and/or Baldwin fares reasonably, the message to the GOP would be to abandon the neocons and move towards Dr. Paul.

Also, Obama would not be able to do so much. As commanders he has to make decisions about the military. It would really not be so bad under Obama, in any case not in the first two years (different than McCain) and if it is worse economically then, then it is all the more easy to get a GOP win of congress and senate in 2010 and then Obama's hands are tied. He would NOT be able to do irresponsible things. Also, if the Dems do not get 60 senators (or more), the Republicans can still fillibuster legislation by liberal Democrats and Obama.
The next two years will in any case be very difficult, regardless who wins.
If McCain wins, there is less likelyhood that the GOP can take control of the senate/house in 2010. Remember, there could even be a scandal or some revelation (Rezko etc.) that can lead to an impeachment of Obama. Think about it....

next time GOP will be even worse

If you vote fir McCain, the message that you send is that you agree with his basic policies, wars and more wars, amnesty etc.

If anyone on DP helps Mccain get elected, that will validate the GOP's decision. Four years from now the GOP will then be able to push an even more liberal candidate than Mccain.

I would rather vote my conscience and let the GOP falter and rebuild from a conservative base.

You don't HAVE to do anything!

Pick the best candidate, the one you consider to be the most qualified to lead the country, and vote for that person. Yes, it is that simple. If that person does not win, it is not your fault. You did your duty. But don't vote for McCain because you are in fear of Obama. For all intents and purposes, Obama and McCain are conjoined twins. They both feed off of the CFR and Trilateral Comm. There is no difference between the two. Vote as if your soul depends upon it, because it does.

Yes,

it baffles me that Ron Paul supporters can consider voting for McCain or Obama, while none of them reflect Dr. Paul's political philosophy. It is so ironic that Republicans that has criticized Dr. Paul and did NOT vote for him in the primaries, are now more positive about him and saying openly they will NOT vote for McCain, like Josef Farah of WND. Farah wrote in fact that it may be better if Obama wins, as this will make a Republican landslide in 2010 and 2012 that more likely. Obama will have to sit with the economic and military mess in Iraq, Afghanistan etc.

Do whatever you like, but I

Do whatever you like, but I never have and I never will vote for somebody just to keep somebody else from winning. I personally think that would just be stupid. It's tacit approval, and until I'm offered a candidate I can feel good about voting for (like Paul), I'm not ever voting for either of these idiots or any of the other morons that they offer up for my approval for the destruction of my country.

Nice to See the Dimwits From the McCain Camp Here!

Now get lost!

Who cares about which one of those turds win... Do you have respect for your beliefs?

There is life at the end of the tunnel my friends!

Your vote doesn't count.

Your vote doesn't count.

That is the problem.

Your vote doesn't matter because someone has already hand-picked the next president (with a lower-case "p").

McCain and Obama (along with others) are putting on this farce of a race. I'm pretty sure both of them already know who's going to win.

And now... On to the next distraction!

I hear you loud and clear

YOUR VOTE WILL NOT COUNT

Predetermined outcome -- Winner already picked.

Vote your CONSCIENCE, not for the Enemy!

Join the fight to change our voting system for the next election!

Agree and Agree!!

Until we change the voting system, Diebold will pick the winner.

I don't vote lesser of two evils

It's kind of funny, I feel about McCain the way Cantor43 feels about Obama, but I couldn't vote for either.

OR

the evils of two lesser!

If you genuinely believe the

If you genuinely believe the election of Obama will result in the world coming to an end in the next four years, you probably should vote for McCain.

Otherwise, while your vote may prove irrelevant to the outcome of this election, it will, absolutely 100 percent for sure, be scrutinized by GOP strategists trying to figure out where the missing votes that would have enabled them to defeat Obama went. Let them find them cast for a candidate whose platform is much closer to Ron Paul’s than McCain’s is. Then they’ll know what to do to get your help defeating Obama next time.

He's pretty much right.

Obama would be an economic disaster. Look at this political prediction market: http://www.intrade.com/Ma... The higher McCain polls, the lower the probability of a recession in 2009. It makes perfect sense. If Obama is able to institute all the economic changes he wants, there could a depression because it would be the New Deal all over again. And with a Democratic congress, there's a real danger that he would be able to. We need gridlock.

----
Don't blame me if there's no voice for liberty opposing McCain and Obama in the Presidential debates. I donated to Ron Paul Libertarian, Bob Barr's campaign.

I am absolutely in favor of

I am absolutely in favor of a gridlocked McCain vs. a free to wreak havoc at will Obama, but end of the world? In four years?

Considering how close the two of them are policy wise, I’d be willing to risk throwing the election to Obama by diverting McCain voters to smaller government candidates, like Barr & Baldwin. The GOP needs to get off the track they are currently on, one way or the other. Being marginally more palatable than a socialist, just isn't good enough reason to vote for them. We need to show them that they are losing natural and reflexive republican voters with their warmongering and deficit spending.

Disagree

Both will be big spenders, at least Obama will raise taxes.

Perhaps, this will make americans realize the burden of taxation, and push stronger for smaller government.

Sometimes a step in the wrong direction is a step in the right direction, McCain will plunge the US into a deeper debt and that means trouble. Look at how he runs his campaign, he is obviously so bad with money.

However, having said all that, I will still not vote for Obama.

You give both Obama and McCain too much credit.

They are both going to do what the elites tell them to do. Both will be bad for business, bad for personal liberty, bad for America.

Holy Sh*t!

You guys are still playing the 'this democrat is better than that republican' crap or 'my republican can beat up your democrat' sh*t.

After all this time and all you know you still can't figure out there is no difference between them? Obama's against the war? McCain's for lower taxes? What are you folks smoking?

If you believe that either candidate is going to 'change' anything of consequence if they reach the office, you're all delusional. I thought better of Daily Paul'rs. Where's the solidarity? Where's your balls?

RP remains the only 'change' candidate because he was going to change the status quo. The only change you'll have with either of these two monkeys is what remains in your pocket after they tax the living sh*t out of you.

What you should be doing is figuring out what you're going to do if RP does not get into office, cause there's a shitstorm comin' very soon after.

I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...

It doesn't

Matter....watch....McCain will win.....mark my word......

Here are my thoughts...personally.......

#1 I am 100% for Ron Paul and his ideals.......but if you force me to choose....here is how it lays out for me.....and me only!!

Don't get me wrong..........I am 100% RP but you put a gun to my head...this is how it plays out..

Obama.....Great Speaker, and I do believe he honestly wants to change this country.....well...for me...it is going to be for the worse. He is going to crush ME on taxes.....and come after me in Costa Rica. Democrats always go after "ExPats" just like Clinton tried to do. Democrats are always for taking from the people who have made it....and stripping them of their wealth and handing it out freely to the poor.

Well, we all want to be rich...Right? We all work for it? Right? Well, what if you get their? Do you want it stripped from you??

I am not saying I am rich....but I am working my ass off to get their......why take from me because I work 10 times harder and smarter then the average Bonehead?

McCain.....well, he will stick to the Bush Doctrine, Lower Taxes for people with money (which I am working toward)...will not come after people leaving the country, but he will keep these perpetual wars going on forever.............

It is so tough...........Personally.....If I did not give a SH*T I would vote McCain....but I do care......so then I would have to vote Obama....because on a worldwide view...maybe we can get some respect back.....I will give up some of my $$$ to help the poor if Obama tries to do what is right,....

Do you see what a crock of SH*T this whole election is.....?????

2-Dirt bags again.......

Ron Paul.....the Dream Candidate sent from above.....and I mean he would be "Gods" Choice!

And this is the one I would side with.......

I don't care about your beliefs.......and if anybody bitches about religion...I am just telling you what "I THINK".

We in America were sent Ron Paul by a higher power(My Opinion)....and I think this nation is so lost....we missed our chance!! SAD!!

Just my 2 cents
