Great News from Washington State: Michael Delavar Wins Primary!

From the Columbian:

Republican Michael Delavar, a strict constitutionalist and a supporter of Libertarian-leaning Texas Congressman Ron Paul, won the right Tuesday to challenge Democratic U.S. Rep. Brian Baird of Vancouver in November.

The top two primary winnowed a field of three challengers in the 3rd Congressional District race. All three mounted low-cost but vigorous campaigns against the five-term incumbent.

Baird, who has raised more than $1.3 million so far, drew 51.75 percent of the vote.

Delavar, a Washougal airline pilot, came in second with 19 percent, ahead of Christine Webb of Olympia, the Republican Party’s choice, who drew 16 percent of the vote, and Olympia peace activist Cheryl Crist, a Democrat, who won 13 percent. Each raised and spent less than $33,000.

Great job Michael Delavar!!!

Read Delavar's website.

Issue by issue, he is a Ron Paul republican. He seems to be a straight arrow honest family man, intelligent and not a bad debater. I'm sending him money.

Question for his supporters. Think he can grab the lion's share of Ms. Crist's voters, the anti-war Democrat?

Congrats to Michael Delavar and his supporters... on to November.

Yes it was a great victory

Yes it was a great victory for the 3rd Congressional Distric conservitives. We have our work cut out for us now! We can win this in November and next year Michael can sit and have lunch with Dr Paul! Won't that be a dream come true! We will need all your help! Your donations to Michael's campaign will be vital to his success!
The Republican party to this point has worked against us, I do hope they will work with us instead of against us but we will continue on and win with or without the republican party!

oh yes....the ron paul club is going to get bigger...

and bigger and BIGGER!!!!

Yeah! For Michael!!

Thank you to everyone here who worked so hard for Michael. He won in every county in the district. This is a true victory. The local GOP actively recruited one of their own to run against Michael Delavar. Shameful. Now we have our real work cut out for us, to win against Brian Baird (D), the incumbant career politician. Onward Team!
On a side note, Dave Reichert (R) is winning a spot in District 8, too. If you recall, he was one of only nine Republicans who voted (along with Dr. Paul) in favor of sending the impeachment resolution to judiciary committee. I wasn't too sure of him before that, but it brought him up a notch in my book.

Outstanding!

Now if we can just get the rest of them dealt with. Everyone out here is enamored with Cathy because she's a nice lady, but my county would love nothing more than to run her up the pole with the morning colors and beat her like a pinata. She's really pissed off a lot of people here.

If we can oust Chris Quagmire and Cathy, maybe the state can finally start getting back to its roots a little. A bunch of liberals in a conservative state doesn't sit too well, but unfortunately Seattle is a nest of clueless fluffy-butt liberals, and Spokane is getting a lot of transplants from the west side. Do they have an insecticide for liberals?

Unfortunately, Cathy has three

candidates running against her from the right. It's too bad the CPers, Libertarians & RP Republicans couldn't have agreed on one candidate to run against her. I think she'd be lame duck.

Congrats to Mike & Katja on a job well done!

Loved the last line.."Webb,

Loved the last line.."Webb, a party activist who entered the race at the last minute, won her party’s endorsement in part because Delavar refused to sign a pledge to support Arizona Sen. John McCain’s presidential campaign."
Maybe the GOP needs to look at what Republicans REALLY want...

Bribery

True to it's corrupt hierarchy, the GOP tried to BRIBE Delavar ... literally to sign a form promising to support AND VOTE FOR McCain, in exchange for their money and publicity! That is a FELONY in the state of Washington! Someone should call the Sheriff and file on that one... how neat that would be... a busted party leader in the middle of a campaign, with an honorable candidate who would not cave in to corruption, and who now has defeated the candidate who probably signed the bribe!

Down with Baird next! He is very vulnerable!!

"Suspicion is a Virtue, if in the interests of the good of the people." Patrick Henry

yes,

that was a nice one. BTW: Webb was also endorsed by a few newspapers (for the GOP side) , she campaigned for a few months nonetheless and (worst of all), on the WA GOP site, ONLY her name is there as candidate for the district! Delavar already filed in February, I think. On the other side, you just have to laugh that the WA GOP now has to suck up to Delavar and endorse him and delete Webb's name and include Delavar's name.

Actually, no, they don't

Actually, no, they don't need to endorse him. They already have the turncoat Baird...

You are right.

In our county, our own GOP Central Committee Chair stated that she supported Baird! They allowed him to run unopposed a couple or three times, maybe more, at least in the 20 years I have been here. We have a first rate conservative republican in Michael, and they dug up one of their own to run against him! No, they don't have to endorse him, it would choke them to do so after how they have behaved. Neocons, masquerading as conservative republicans! Brings to mind an old Gaelic blessing:

May those who love us, love us.
And those that don't love us,
May God turn their hearts;
And if he doesn't turn their hearts
May he turn their ankles
So we'll know them by their limping.

That was good.

We'll know them by their limping.

Wouldn't be surprised

If the local GOP will still shun us. They lost out on a golden oppurtunity to have our power behind their other candidates. Since most chose to devote time ONLY to Delavar's campaign, there was no time left for anyone else. I guess we will see how this unfolds....

I am so glad he won in the primaries...

have checked back many times to read the WA state results....now let's get moving towards November...
