"Country First": 2008 Republican National Convention to Highlight
Service, Reform, Prosperity and Peace
Convention Announces Program Themes and Speaker Lineup

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - The 2008 Republican National Convention today announced the themes and preliminary lineup of speakers for the program of events that will run Sept. 1-4. The convention’s overall theme, "Country First," reflects John McCain’s remarkable record of leadership and service to America. Each day of proceedings will center on a touchstone theme that has defined John McCain’s life and will be central to his vision for leading our nation forward as president.

"Our convention will showcase a cross-section of leaders who will highlight John McCain’s long commitment to putting our country first -- before self-interest or politics," said McCain 2008 Communications Director Jill Hazelbaker. "The speakers will address John McCain’s unmatched record of service and sacrifice for America, and his vision for moving our nation forward to keep us safe and get our economy back on track."

The roster of speakers announced today includes John McCain, Mrs. Cindy McCain, 10 current and former Republican governors, five current and former U.S. Senators and two well-respected businesswomen. They will not support you

They will not support you for the convention nor in any elections unless you sign a pledge of loyalty to John McCain..have you guys been sleeping? They made all delegates in AR sign them. They will not give ANYONE a chance to talk there, nor help any Republican candidate who will not sign this pledge. I do not know how many more ways I can say this to make you understand..

I know this is true. I am not surprised at all.

Pat Buchanan was not allowed to speak in the 1996 convention until he endorsed Dole, which I think he regretted.

The Alaska GOP unanimously passed a resolution at our State Convention requesting the RNC allow Dr. Paul time to speak. We knew it was a shot in the dark, though.

But a little piece of me always hoped that the RNC would at least invite Dr. Paul to speak, even if he eventually would have to decline because of the loyalty pledge. But they didn't even INVITE him, which is offensive.

give then hell

Just made the call

I actually spoke to a young lady and asked her why in the world a former democratic VP candidate would be speaking at the GOP convention? I was confused and would she pass on my comment as to how weird this was? Very strange I told her. She didn't really know what to say besides she would pass on my comment. Please make the call and ask WHY? What the hell is going on?

Go Dr. Paul.

I think delegates for Paul should show their colors and wear Ron Paul T-shirts. Then vote for Paul and screw the system, Paul does it all the time.
grant

How many people are

How many people are surprised here? What bothers me is that I think a hell of a lot of people on the Daily Paul are surprised.

Dr. Paul said months ago he doubted they'd let him speak at the convention.

SUPPORT OUR FOUNDERS' AMERICA
Support the Constitution of the United States

At this point, Ron Paul is an embarrassment to the GOP much like

Pat Buchanan in 1992. They will not allow themselves to be embarrassed again.

I am a bit disappointed that Sarah Palin will be speaking amongst all those neo-cons. I just hope she stands out from them, because she really is different.

I think this Huckabee fella might still just be running for Prez

I might just vote for him intead of Barr or Baldwin.

ur nuts

nuts

Speakers

It's not surprising that Huckabee will be a speaker to the convention. Tom Ridge is another superb choice. Huckabee can talk about how he achieved political office with so few teeth. Tom Ridge can talk about his brain transplant. These Bozos represent the Neocon party, and are better equipped to articulate what the Republican party of today is about. How sad for all of us to see. A vote for McGoiter or Obama would only validate the hoax played on America for the last 8 years.

steelfab

We know why.

Ron Paul is the conscience of the Republican party, and these days the party is feeling guilty as hell. They don't dare invite Dr. Paul, Congressman Goldwater, or any other honest Republican to address the convention.

I gotta say somethin and

I gotta say somethin and blow off this steam. A good friend of mine who planned on voting for ron paul said " i hate to say it but john mccain is looking better and better all the time". Meaning obama looks pretty bad. I am not going to ruin a long friendship with the man by saying this to him so i say it here. mccain is a theif. he is going to steal money from MY pocket. a person that votes for him is ALSO going to be stealing money from my pocket. I'm beyond sick and tired of people saying things like that as if they are doing their country and me a favor. so if your going to do the situational ethical thing on voting day dont do it with me as an execuse! leave my name out of it. you want to sell your integrity , your country and your family down the toilet. but dont have the balls to say your voting for a warmongering mafioso, traitorous, P.O.W betraying abortion pushing baby killing scumbag. When you vote for that traitor what he does is on your hands! You will give account to God for it. Not one u.s. soldeir EVER died overseas because of me. And none ever will. If you still intend on voting for for him , fellow 'ron pauler' better make sure you dont let people here find out when your doing time with them and maybe their families in the same labor camp. 'may your chains set lightly upon you'? pushwa. May you lose your house. and not me. may you get a draft card. not me . may you wait in an unemployment line. I beg thee have me excused. you say 'you really mean that'? AB-SOLUTUTELY! Some people here REALLY DO CARE ABOUT THE LIVES OF 300,000,000 AMERICANS. AND REALLY DO HAVE BRAINS AND INTEGRITY. You stealing backstabbing double talking traitor.

DONT WORRY

What you should worry about, is his VP.

Mccain is dead in a year, then I move in on Cindy. I need a sugar honey MOMMy.

Shes hot.

Freedom may be worth searching for.

Remember, Dont battle the govt with guns(ALONE), Beat them in court, in state legislature, or hire Ron Paul for president.

word.

I just saw that atm McCain is 5% higher in the fake polls- looks like theyre starting to prime the rig for Diebold.

www.dvds4delegates.com

Yes I've already noticed that last week

when the "media" announced McCain was beating Obama in the "polls."

We all know that a lot more people are "bamboozled and hoodwinked" by Obama than give one crap about McCain (just that he's the last remaining Repub to vote for)

Yep. The fix is in, they're firing up the memory cards and the executable software for Bush's bud McCain. Oh, it will be close all right. Say, 49% vs. 51% (it's easier that way and more 'believeable")

As scary as it all is (the future being determined by the outcome), I did bet $50 bucks several months back that McCain would lose because he had zero support & no one could stand him. Looks like I was wrong in thinking either puppet would be acceptable to the Bush regime...

Does anyone think that when/if Obama loses, there will be riots in the streets? We're talking some angry people -- maybe very similar to what happened after the Rodney King verdict in L.A. (I was there...)

I wonder if the Dems..

will ever revolt at having elections stolen from them?

Well, mdonato

it won't be the dems revolting -- it will be a race of people taking it very personally that they were thwarted in having their first black president (and although Obama is far, far, far, far, far [etc. etc.] away from being a Martin Luther King, many people are calling him the Messiah)

I am so glad that I will

be attending the Rally for the Republic instead.

Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

It will be a big time "dog and pony show",

about the only thing we will be able to do it to make some "noise".

Man, I hope Ron and Jesse announce at the R4R.

I just called

Just called the number given, got voice mail & left a message asking why Giuliani & Thompson, who won no delegates, will be speaking while Ron Paul, who won delegates, is not. Will post here if I get a reply, but don't hold your breath.

"Country first" Sounds like

"Country first"

Sounds like a USSR or Nazi slogan.

The free individual first, with the productivity of each free individual making the country better in the process.

It would match

It would match "Homeland security" and the Air force's "Above all" choices well then.

http://prorev.com/2008/03...

US AIR FORCE - The Air Force has a new advertising campaign to recruit the next generation of Airmen as well as better inform people about the Air Force mission: "Above All."

"The new slogan is admittedly a bold one," said Col. Michael Caldwell, deputy director of Air Force public affairs, "but so are Airmen." This campaign accurately portrays Airmen and how they're executing the Air Force mission to ensure the security and safety of America now and in the future.

"'Above All' is about what we do and how we do it," Colonel Caldwell said. "The job of the Air Force is to defend America and we do that by dominating air, space and cyberspace. The new campaign and slogan captures our roots, but also illustrates where we're going as a service as the Air Force prepares to contend with future threats."

Although the phrase 'uber alles' describing Germany well precedes the rise of Hitler, any one who lived through World War II would easily associate it with its Nazi use. The adoption by the Air Force is either stupid or scary.

"It is the responsibility of the patriot to protect his country from its government."

— Thomas Paine

And when they say "country"...

...what they're REALLY saying is the government of that country.

This shouldn't surprise any of us

we knew (or should have known) that the GOP detests everything Ron Paul stands for, and unfortunately, most people need a big Grand Old Party to tell them what to do, and how to think, so they blindly follow the Elephant (or Jackass). Everybody wants to be on the "winning" side, regardless of what the "win" means. They don't even bother to question. I sure wish this mental blockade could be broken.

of course the Doc's not invited

Why would he be? Should he invite McPain to speak at the CFL Rally - of course not. They don't want the Doc there. He won't endorse any of them and he doesn't support their policies.

Did anyone hear the GOP is calling each state..?

I heard the GOP was calling every state to see if it was ok to run a Dem (Lieberbuddy) as the VP.... this convention is twisted &the election is rigged!!!

S'cuse me while I hurl

Who wants to be at the

NEOCON convention for Hell Spawn?

We have a Liberty Convention of true blue Americans to attend.
Join PyraBang the patriot search engine.

We need a You tube spoof

This could be great material !

If you are dissapointed with the mistakes of government...

join it's ranks & correct them! Hahahahaha.... uh huh

We know he doesn't speak for his own campaign, wonder if he speaks for the GOP

can we say...

circle jerk much? what a pathetic disguise for a glorified elitist pep-rally

Elitist pep-rally

Somebody should be writing this stuff down. Its great !!!!

The ultimate irony!

A theme about self-sacrifice and serving "greater good" by a member of the criminal Keating 5.

It's absolutely cartoon-ish!
Another fantasy page from their propaganda book.

PLEASE pass the barf bag....

I suddenly feel ill....

My sentiments exactly!

Puke!

Well

I got a lot of gripes about this whole thing, but I just plan on posting the phone number you gave,651-467-2008 on all sorts of strange websites.

"For a good time call John" 651-467-2008
"For a good time call cindy" 651-467-2008
"Curious about abortion? Call Joe L." 651-467-2008
You get the idea..........

I'm looking for a good time

I think I'll call that number right now

LMAO!!!!!!

~peace

It sounds like all the speakers

are going to talk about how great John McCain is.Ron Paul won't endorse him so of course they are not going to let him speak!I feel sorry for our delegates who have to sit through hours of this McCain love fest!!

This is gonna be a bore~

And a snore !!!!

Gooliani is also slated to speak

Wonder if he'll reveal his secrets on how to spend 47 million dollars for one delegate?

Or all about

how he's the King of Spain's attorney..Trudy JulieAnnie's firm is going to make $70 million from the NAFTA superhighway.

I don't understand how

I don't understand how Alaska governor Sarah Palin ended up on that list. She's about as close to a female Ron Paul as exists in this country.

www.paulforronpaul.com

She's young, attractive, and popular

the fact that she is only nominally Republican (in the current sense of the word) matters not, when she is young, attractive, and has approval ratings of 90%+ in her home state.

Agreed

They would be the ticket. Maybe something will happen....

funny

they let a democrat speak...

It looks like Mitt is going to be the VP Rep. nominee.

He would definitely be a speaker at the convention if McCain wasn't going to choose him as his VP.

Romney

is scheduled to appear on Wednesday. My guess would be Lieberman.

Please change your title!

Ron Paul isn't on the agenda, but Mitt Romney certainly is. Read what you post and don't use misleading titles.

romney, Sept 3rd

listed before cindy mkkain

THE MORE I LEARN ABOUT GOVERNMENT
THE MORE I LOVE MY GUNS
FourWindsTradingPost

And Lieberman is in

You didn't mention the worst of it. I could understand not having Ron Paul speak, but to include a once-Democratic VP nominee among the speakers?

Lieberman to Speak at GOP Convention
