A Black Parade ...

I was thinking about something the other day. It seems these days every cause has a symbol ... a yellow ribbon for the troops, a pink one for aids, etc. We often wonder sometimes how many of us there are (I would add far more since the campaign ended). In my mind it doesn't matter if tweedledumb or Tweedledee get elected in November. What always matters is that we will eneviatably loose more of our freedom.

For the first time ever, I will write in a candidate for President this year. (I voted for Harry in '96 and 2000 don't blame me.)

Futhermore, wouldn't it be cool if (like the money bombs) we coordinated "A Black Parade" ... a black ribbon campaign, black web pages, etc. only on election day to protest the loss and crisis that some in America have blindly embraced at our expense?

Even for those who knew little about our movement, it would create a buzz ... what are all these black ribbons for??? Maybe we get some media attention out of it. Who knows?

Mourning for America Parade

I like this idea of a widespread show of mourning, including a parade(s), black ribbons ... and maybe this design, one I created last century (;-) in the '90s. The original idea was to print it on armbands, but it works for lots of other things as well. Here it is: http://www.cafepress.com/rememberlib.

I also like "Mourning for America" because it's a take-off on Bill Bennett's radio program -- a fund dig at a big neocon hack.

We need RNC day and Election Day Statement Bombs

Screw going to atta boy rally with musicians and TV judge wanna-bes. Let's introduce a little anarchy on the RNC day and Election Day.

Parades

Marches

Close big bank accounts

Not buy anything...except a gun

Not go to work

Call/email the IRS, Federal Reserve, GOP, White House, talk shows, newspapers, etc. and chew them out

Stand on corners and read the Declaration of Independence

Hand out Constitutions, Walden, Ayn Rand works, etc.

Thank you so much

I had never seen that great video before. Wonderful, and it makes me cry and happy at the same time. Oh, we can't give up or give in.

Pause for thought

Not to "play the race card," but, do you suppose anyone might misinterpret the black ribbons as indicating support for Obama?

Far fetched, perhaps. But...perhaps not...I'm just throwing that thought out there...

Respectfully...

When I think of colors I don't think of people. Separating people into groups by skin color, religion, etc. is one of the tools that the powers in control like to use against us. Stop thinking the way that they want you to, and start thinking of every person as just that...a person.

I agree with you 100%

Before I hit "post comment," I feared someone might mistake my post; I can see that I was indeed not clear enough in my presentation of my comment.

My question is: might others misinterpret it, associating "black ribbon" with "black candidate" -- specifically because they themselves (those who view us) separate people into groups by skin color, etc. This is not about what you and I think, but what those who view us think: what message are we sending, intentionally or unintentionally, via the filters of other people's perceptions?

Again, this may not be an issue at all, and my concern may be totally for naught. I merely mention it as part of the consideration of the concept. I have no personal investment in pro- vs. con- re: this ribbon idea.

I like your idea.

The black is for mourning and there is a lot going on to mourn, that's for sure.
