The Commerce Department's National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will hold a media briefing at 11 a.m. EDT on August 21, 2008, at its campus in Gaithersburg, Md., on the findings and recommendations from its building and fire safety investigation of the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7 (WTC 7).

No building has ever collapsed from fires... Look into the empire state building fire of 1945. The empire state building suffered a partial collapse when a B-25 bomber slammed into it around the 79th floor causing a 4 alarm fire. I believe this fire lasted for days though causing extensive damage leading to a partial collapse.
I mention this because if your going to argue points you have to be spot on to refute others who might bring this up. Again, if you look into this you will find that fires lasted for days, without a functioning sprinkler system. You should look into it to help point out the differences between the empire state and buildings 1,2, & 7.
Anyhow I caught the NIST douche bag director this morning... and he told me that there were no explosives because the computer said so. So I believe the government because the computer said so. NOT!

I also think they are drawing a line in the sand, saying "We are going to stick to our cover up no matter what! We will use this NIST statement as a fact and you will only embarrass yourself if you say anything counter to it."

The Washington Times reports that scientists with the National Institute of Standards and Technology have completed their three year investigation of the building's collapse, and they say the science behind their findings is "incredibly conclusive."
The investigation concluded that the collapse of building 7 "was actually the first time in the world a fire caused the total failure of a skyscraper." A giant computer model of the collapse shows the failure of the internal column of the building is what brought the building down. Extreme heat caused some of the steel beams to lose strength throughout the entire structure; however it was the collapse of the 13th floor that weakened the critical support column. Investigators also found that another collapse nearby had broken the city's water main, which left the bottom of the building without water for the sprinkler system.
Now all the MSM will regurgitate this bull shit. And for those that still don't believe it (per Boortz.com) "None of this matters, though, to the "9/11 was an inside job" whack jobs. There are people who believe that the Earth is flat. There are people who earnestly believe that the Earth is perfectly stationary in the middle of the universe. The first time a steel-framed highrise building has collapsed from fire was when WTC-2 collapsed at 10:05 am.
The second time was when WTC-1 collapsed at 10:29 am.
The third time was when WTC-7 collapsed at 5:25 pm.

#4 Explain WTC7 falling....you can't!
#5 Does it really matter? If you have read this far...and still doubt the above 4 statements, then several facts are true...
A-You have not done any research into 9/11

I remember seeing it on TV as it happened and I literally burst out laughing and knew immediately that I was witnessing a scam of some kind. But that doesn't mean I go to the other extreme and advocate laser beams from ancient Martian civilizations hitting the Pentagon.
There are extreme fringe kooks at both ends. I want the truth, which is most likely to be somewhere in the middle. I think there is insidious complicity as well as bumbling buffoonery, and I think the truth involves (plausible) Earth technology. Planes, not rockets. Inept humans (who make mistakes that we can uncover), not Martians or lizard-men or demon soldiers from Lucifer's Army of Darkness.

I personally focus on just one thing
the demolitions , In my opinion the most obvious fact of things. I talk to a lot of "NO Planers" and they have shown me a lot of information on it. Either way I know that just using basic physics I know that an aluminum Plane cannot penetrate concrete let alone concrete and steel. The exterior of the building was a fortress of 3 by 4 steel girders. A Plane would never have made a dent in it. the engines maybe but the plane never. So how did they do it ? CGI graphics and Mass hysteria make the most sense. It's easy to convince a mass of people to remember things merely through suggestion.
But that's another thing , I saw the pictures and news teams at the pentagon directly after impact , No plane anywhere ?

This was my rant from a while ago. Still applies...unfortunately.
In closing, the NIST must explain something to me or I will assume they are incompetent:
Brief study into the demolition of steel framed buildings will yield the following conclusion as accepted in the demolition industry.
"The primary concern of an engineer in the demolition of a steel framed building is SAFETY."
You F up and you are out of business.
The building MUST fall STRAIGHT. If it does not fall straight, it will hit other buildings and you will have a catastrophe.
In order to achieve the SAFETY - STRAIGHT DOWN Bible of the industry you have to drop a building using GRAVITY.
You can't blow a building to smithereens because it would not be SAFE.
They way you drop a building is you wire each support column with a cutting charge at it's base. Done at an angle and the weight of the building will bring the building down...STRAIGHT AND SAFE...bombs do not bring buildings down. The force provided by the WEIGHT of the structure brings it down....is this too complicated?
FOLKS, THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO DO IT.

Steel framed buildings are ROBUST structures in respect to building and fire codes. If you research steel and in particular "structural steel" you will understand what I mean.
The NIST must explain to me the following.
If cutting charges were not detonated in unison in the wtc 7 basement why did the building fall STRAIGHT DOWN?
Demo guys spend a lifetime getting the design and timing of this type of demolition mastered....exactly what we saw on wtc 7. Listen to me. It is a f%$ing art, OK? Not many men in this world know how to do this stuff and they get paid a lot to do it.
WTC 7....This kind of sh%$ does not happen in nature. If the building collapsed because of upper story fires and they are going to tell me that is what happened, then every steel framed structure in the world must be evacuated NOW.
Buildings TIP OVER as their support structure may fail in CERTAIN AREAS...Not all at once. This is simultaneous failure of all of the support columns...ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
They do not drop on themselves. This is because they are designed to hang on the structural steel at their core. The core is the strongest part of the building and is the part of the building that must be ATTACKED most thoroughly by the demolition engineer.
WTC 7's core gave way and the building dropped on itself. Some serious "fires and accidents" happened right at the building's core structure? Office supplies burned so hot that all of the support columns in the basement failed...at the same time..what!?
Any event BEGS for an "elegant explanation."

You sir are correct about gravitational physics. Matter as it falls because of gravity always follows a path of least resistance. In a building, denser matter will follow matter that is the least resistance and not of greater resistance. This is why when during a house fire the structure will just topple over and not fall straight down. This is why parts of the house will fall outwards and not just straight down into its footprints. The fire causes certain wood beams to fail. It causes a domino effect. Each beam that was supported follows the path with least resistance so it literally looks like a house of cards falling. Steve Jones and Richard Gage are true physics experts and would certainly be able to explain this much better than I can. If explosives have a higher probability, as you say, then in terms of cost effectiveness, they can start a fire first, and then if that doesn't work, they try the explosives.
But they don't do that, because they know that there is a ZERO probability of a steel-framed building collapsing into its own footprint from small, isolated fires.
No, for three reasons:
1. The structure would be too damaged and therefore too dangerous to go in and place explosives.
2. The fire might spread to other buildings.
3. It causes too much unnecessary polution.
