Please folks stop feeding these idiots and they will eventually seek attention elsewhere. shaka seems to be the popular one at the moment trying to huck an anti Ron Paul book.
Why is it everyone has to jump on the thread and try and brow beat the troll while endlessly bumping the thread perpetuating it, don't you know that's what they thrive on? The more controversy and anger they can create the more attention they get. Just ignore them and they will leave eventually.
I know it feels good to blast them and I am guilty of it myself but it does no good and only perpetuates the thread which is what they want. I largely ignore those threads. If we all did that this place wouldn't be so cluttered with this garbage. Ever post a thread and no one responds? How fast does it drop off the front page? Think about it.
I know it's tempting and hard to resist blasting them but it really is not that important for you to get that jab in, let it go...

Follow the links I provided and you can see how they duck and cover and pop up again. I had hoped their game wouldn't get very far but when I saw their first post here the youtube link they were pimping had 3000 views, last I saw was several hundred thousand.
I don't recommend anyone post to resurrect this noxious distraction. I simply want the genuine DP'rs to be alert to these tactics and careful about giving lambs bait the time of day.

You are right. But it is kind of fun to let off steam at someone. So really it is a symbiotic relationship, I love to abuse them, and they love to be abused. Waaaaaaaaaaait a minute, that means I am a sadist! I must have switched sides at some point, before this I have always been the used and abused. So Freedom is working!!!!!!!!

Many times its good to step in and correct the disinformation,
before it snowballs. They do try to be clever about garnering

Thus, a common tactic of trolls...
...is to play at being the innocent, unsuspecting visitor (in order gain sympathy, even when they're being disruptive and divisive). Whenever someone immediately cops that "innocent, unsuspecting visitor" plea ("why are you all being so mean, I'm just trying to find out the truth? Waaaa..."), my first thought is always - troll. Only very rarely does that initial impression turn out to be incorrect....

I'd rather hand feed a cornered, rabid skunk, than to give one of the trolls around here the time of day.
I know, I know, it's hard to resist not ripping them a new one about how ignorant they are, or how badly they misrepresent the actual facts, but if you just completely ignore them, they really will go away. Most of what they want is the attention good or bad. Unless of course they are true neo-con or government paid schills and it's part of thier job to be here stirring up crap, then they're going to be here no matter what. Either way, don't give them what they want, you know you're smarter than they are, you prove it all the time. If you really like to argue, and it really does make you feel better, then go ahead and have fun, the bashing can be entertaining sometimes.
Besides, if they are government paid mouth pieces, what do you bet that most of them are reading posts here and thinking to themselves: "boy, that's a good idea, I'm not telling anyone else about that, I wonder if I should do that too..."

Thanks for this post, hawkiye. It's worth a reply from me, as I feel exactly the same way. Too often the subjects that I see here have absolutely nothing to do with advancing the cause of liberty, much less Ron Paul. Right now we have such subject matter as Mars photos, Wal-Mart, the drinking age, the Cult of the Golden Calf, and McCain trolls are common here now. I would sure like to see DailyPaul get back on topic and see folks let these kinds of threads die the death they deserve. There are plenty of other forums to discuss such topics. But then I guess the idea is to take up space here, and in that regard they succeed when people reply to them.

...that a LOT of times it's fellow trolls that feed the trolls (or different incarnations of the same troll). As the forums are currently set up, there's very little defense against that...
