Ron Paul's surplus of $588,000!!
Keep spending for liberty!!
Rep. Ron Paul still has a presidential campaign surplus of $588,000 and zero debt after raising $35 million for his Republican run. But he's unopposed in Texas for his 11th House term.
So presidential money is not really a bother for him. He's even planning his own counter-convention during the Republican National Convention in St. Paul in 12 days.

I'm not upset here
I think some people might be wondering just the same thing. I know some folk have actually demanded their money back. I would never do that myself. I know Dr. Paul is putting my money to good use and the Campaign for Liberty is a excellent place for my donations. I'll never get into office, but if it helps put other people in, then I'll be that much more happier.
EDIT: This was in response to sqeezebully about the use of campaign funds. Like he said before changing his post, some people might be questioning why he moved his money towards other projects. Squeezebully, it ok to wonder about it, just wanted you to know my response was not chiding you.

Thanks, I changed it before
Thanks, I changed it before your post came up (maybe you were typing while I was changing my post)- I was like do I really want to take flak for this and is it really important that I ask this question?- so I decided to remove it........But now the cats out of the bag!
Refunds
The campaign, according to FEC reports, has refunded about $300,000 in donations. I don't get that. When I give my money to someone, it is because I trust that person to be a good steward of my money.
Most of the money left over from the Presidential campaign was transferred to the Congressional campaign, exactly $3.5 million. The rest of the cash on hand in the PCC is to be used for accounts payable and other loose ends as they come in. That is fairly typical.
But I do have to wonder if there is a bigger plan for the $3.5 mil that was transferred from Ron Paul 2008 PCC to the Committee to Re-Elect Ron Paul. If he and Ventura run, they could transfer those funds right out of the congressional campaign and into a new Paul/Ventura campaign organization. May it be!
