For the rumor-mongering silver cockroaches

08/22/2008, Bellevue, WA. I went this morning to a precious metals dealer trying to find out more about the "shortage of silver". Needless to say the store was full with silver coins, bullions, etc.

I'm telling you, for times of imminent gold and silver "shortage" as we experiment those days, the guy was very eager to sell me some metals ;)! I find out he can order whatever I want it...no shortage WSE.

So, if you don't live in some Alaska mining town or a Pacific remote island...the chances of buying precious metals are everywhere. If you don't believe me just put some lotion on your face so the day light won't burn your skin and get out from your mother basement to check it out for yourself...and after that stop spreading stupid rumors.

Plenty Here!!!

Of course the DC area has plenty of real money as well. They had a pretty ample supply just a couple weeks ago. Worth checking out, but there is a minimum... I think 50oz/silver or 1oz/gold...
anyways check this place out and let me know what they tell you. (You have to call to get the price)

Here was my

experience. A few days ago I went to my local dealer looking for gold coins. He said he was out of stock but that someone was bringing some in the next day he was going to buy 4 gold maple leafs. I said I would buy all four be back tomorrow. He caught up with me in the parking lot and said "You know what I have 4 maple leafs in the vault that I paid 9?? hundred I will give you them today and I replace them with what is coming in tomorrow. I said ok. Gold was around 814 and I paid 850. I think there is stuff out there but the dealers are not stupid they know the numbers are being manipulated and are waiting for the stuff to go up and want to make some money. There is a lot of collector coins and we may be forced to buy that in the end. I don't rely only on gold and silver metal I have my share of ammo. It is ok not to go for it if that is not your cup of tea. Peace Patriot

Last time I checked, just put on some sun block and go to Rio.

How about FRNs is there a shortage of those anywhere? You can get about 9 trillion of them from the central bankers around the world. What about copper coins?

Just Google "bellevue wa

Just Google "bellevue wa coin dealer" and you will get many precious metals dealers names. Call them, they all have silver for sale. I will not put the name of the dealer I visited cause I don't want him bothered with phone calls.

Hello again, OneVoiceofTreason!

What is this, your 87th name on the Daily Paul? Must be hard to remember who you really are, when you continually change your name! Two things remain constant, however:

1) Your hysterical attacks against gold, Ron Paul, and liberty;

2) Our ability to see through your pathetic pro-establishment propaganda.

Hey stupid, I don't do any

Hey stupid, I don't do any "pro-establishment propaganda"...I just presented some FACTS.

Then I hope yo were smart enough to buy some....

I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...

Gold and silver turned me into a newt!

I got better.

Lying anti-freedom shill

I believe not one word of your pro-establishment bullshit, maersksea. I seriously doubt that you ever visited any precious metals dealer, as that would be like a vampire embracing a necklace of garlic.

The evidence for a serious shortage in investment-grade silver (i.e., one ounce coins, 10 and 100 ounce bars) is clear and obvious, your feeble and dissembling attacks to the contrary. Why are you so adamant in your attacks on talk about gold and silver? Did your Wall Street masters pay you to do this, or do you do it purely out of the evil that lurks in your dark and corrupt heart?

The pathetic attempts by pro-establishment trolls and shills such as yourself are incredibly revealing in and of themselves.

Google and call ANY dealer

Google and call ANY dealer in the area...and see what they will tell you.

Update! I found junk!

My second dealer called me back to tell me that he kicked up some junk!
And he told me he has a little less than $50 face left. I know, I know.... small quantities. But at least it's available.

I just paid $110 for $9.70 face-value. This works out to be about $14.25/oz before shipping and insurance. After S&H, it comes out to $15.68/oz.

If anyone wants to snatch up the last of his supply, the company is
http://americancoins.com

I also took the time to ask him about his impressions about the shortage. The convo went something like this...

"What is your impression of the causes of the scarcity of the stuff?"

"Because the price fell, and everyone wants to buy."

"Yet there isn't enough supply?"

"Yeah. Well, basically there are lots of people -and the mint- that bought at $18, $19, and they don't want to sell at a loss. So we've been turning away lots of business because we don't have any supply."

"If the demand is there, shouldn't that push the price up to a point where people become willing to sell again?"

"(exasperated laugh) Yes, it should. And if spot stays this low much longer, the market is going to come to a stand-still."

So there you have it. The way to fix the market is to ignore the spot price. This is why the stuff has been selling at such a premium. The price (for 0.999) is for the most part unchanged despite the spot.

Lovely slurs you sling around

I went to a precious metals dealer, he had 2 bars of .999 and some junk silver, that was it. No rumor, no mongering, not a cockroach - fact in Boise Idaho. Replicated by a friend. We asked them what they thought, they just shrugged their shoulders, had no explanation. The price was also almost 2 dollars higher than spot, which is well above the normal percentage.

Give us your dealer's number

Here is one of my dealers:
http://allamericangold.co...

Here is the other:
http://www.americancoins....

I called both this morning. No silver.
Not even junk.

So unless you are willing to give me a phone number that I can call to buy some Ag, STFU or GTFO.
It sure looks like a shortage from my POV.

local shop

There has never been a 'shortage' at my local coin shop. He can get everything I've ever asked about, but I buy in-stock 90% silver and old silver dollars. There is no above market premium and never has been. Once in a while he has just sold out of something, but it's a little shop and I know his inventory isn't deep - that's understandable and okay by me. He always gives me great deals because I'm a regular, very long-term customer. Cash only and anonymous - though we're on a first name basis.

I don't know what goes on at the big shippers. I would never buy from them and get on the fed-accessible lists.

I'm your huckleberry....

I'm here in the middle of everything and there are starting to be delays on almost everything. Now the whole market doesn't see your store and your store only. Calling around most local coin dealers are out. Now if you wish please give me the number and I'll take what he's got....
By the way you should get off the site if you feel cockroaches is an appropriate term for people here at the daily paul....

I am not a Rooster Dubie....(Cockroach)

LOL....Here in Central California, our regular coin dealer is completely out of silver coins, the only silver he has left is 100oz. silver bars...seriously.
This is not a rumor, but the truth. If you go on ebay, they are selling silver coins anywhere between $2.00 - $4.00 above the spot price, and rightfully so. Consumer use is 850 million ounces a year, but unfortunately only 600 million a year is mined, so please do some research on this, and let me know if the shortage is fake.

and that shortage has been

and that shortage has been going on for decades!

buying on ebay

the last couple of nights and I have been paying 16 to 17 on silver eagles. I think I am going to stay away from clearing houses like monex, I want to have my gold and silver in hand. I think I am doing ok, had a dealer call me and he was trying to get me to buy franklin half dollars for 23.00. What a rip they only contain 3/4ths of a ounce of silver.

your kidding!... one thing I

your kidding!... one thing I know about franklin halves is that most of them have been melted down.. there are not to many of them around any more.. I have 2 1000.00 face bags of those.. when I bought them my dealer told me to sell those last because they are getting rare!
