Essentially, those who attempted to hijack the conventions in TX are now obligated to reimburse the state Republican committee for all legal expenses for their frivolous behavior, totaling more than $14k.
Thanks again, SGP/"Dr" Steve/the original El_Buggo. Are you going to reimburse their losses for following your BS advice?
Expert on the delegate process, my aft section.

One week
One week you've been here. Hey go tell your neo-con masters that the RNC in only a few days away.. And after that is said and done we are getting ready for the next election cycle.. We will take this country back.
Vuck is obviously a neocon tool
The lawsuit had nothing to do with "advice" from anyone. What the hell do you think, that the Texas grassroots can't think for themselves?
I was not directly involved in the lawsuit, but was closely associated with many who were, and I was also part of some of the challenges filed at state. I was AT some of the meetings. I was AT the Nueces hearing at state. Let me tell you, this lawsuit was justified, and the grassroots has obviously been screwed and railroaded by party establishment.
The Nueces county officials admitted in the challenge hearings at state that they broke the rules and appointed their own delegation after the county convention, throwing out the elected slate of Ron Paul supporters. This is a blatant violation of state law and has been ignored and covered up ever since. Justice has failed here, and this judge who is forcing them to pay the GOPs expenses should have hell to pay for such an asinine ruling.
Neocon tool?
Wow, you guys just love your toolbox full of knee-jerk ad hominums, eh?
So you're saying that Steve's months of claims about taking over conventions via speaking to meetup groups and whatnot had nothing to do with the embarrassment of the Paul supporters at the TX conventions and the follow on reaction of suing under the same principle?
You say the lawsuit was justified? That's about as credible as Ted Kennedy saying that Democrats are better than Republicans.
Welcome to reality, which us "scourges" have been preaching well before Steve even slimed his way into the remnants of this "movement". Things have turned out exactly as I predicted for the very reasons I predicted on multiple radio shows and chats - the end result, Ron Paul is unelectable!
If you want to cry about the game being rigged, go right ahead. But the rules are set by the people who are in power, and guess what? They're not going to abdicate. Our modes of civil recourse have been taken from us. Enjoy your "free speech zone" in Minneapolis or St. Paul, whichever one you're probably going to attend. Just hope you don't end up in one of the secret federal "processing centers" for the protesters.
I'm curious, Vuck
re: "...the rules are set by the people who are in power, and guess what? They're not going to abdicate."
Well, you have no argument from me on that point.
RP supporters played by the rules; those who set the rules simply ignored and/or changed their own rules. The only embarrassments at the conventions, however, were those of the GOP.
So what recommendation would you prescribe? If not participating by their rules, what, then, do you suggest would have been a wiser and more effective approach?
I'll cure your curiousity
In most cases, yes, they "played by the rules", but the famous "point of order" shindig from one of the TX conventions was a blatant violation of Robert's Rules to start off with.
Second, in the case of TX, if a candidate gets in excess of 50% of the popular vote, which McCain did, then the state is a winner-take-all and are bound for the first round of voting, i.e. the "stealth delegate" movement in that state is moot, and there is no reason whatsoever to think there'll be a second vote at the RNCC.
If you're thinking of the "they're morally, not legally, bound", you're right, but there's this nasty little rule which allows the RNC bigwigs to replace delegates with alternates if they violate their obligations at the convention, such as not voting in accordance with their respective bindings. So, even if there were somehow multiple "stealth delegates" installed as TX delegates, they're bound, and if they choose to exercise their conscience in lieu of their contractual obligation, they'll be swapped out for delegates that'll adhere to their party's binding, if applicable.
As far as alternate approaches, I'm sure you're looking for civil recourse. At this point, I don't believe there are any left. Media? Owned by the same organizations that the politicians are beholden to. Elections? Ran by the people in power. Spamming Congressional offices? That's been ineffective for decades. Marches/rallies/protests? As evidenced by the passage of FISA a couple weeks after the DC event, the politicians et al don't seem to be listening/watching.
At this point, all we can do is prepare for the inevitable, and wait for the government to take the plunge into an all-out police state amidst an economic collapse...empty bellies are strong motivators.
I'm not looking for civil recourse
Nor was I asking about bound delegates, nor an explanation of winner-takes-all states. So, curiosity not quite quenched, there.
I'm looking for an answer to my question, posed above (here it is again for you, now with embolding freshness) --
Hearing a suggestion that would have brought about a better, wiser, more effective approach than people getting directly involved in the process and running to become delegates would be of great interest to many here. So, had you been around and active on DP during the time that strategies were being discussed, what would have been your recommendation? If not the delegate approach, then what do you believe would have been the way to go?
People who can point out what's wrong, and stop there, are a dime a dozen; those who can determine the corrective action to take after the fact are few; those who can accurately identify a different approach that could have been taken in the first place to avoid undesirable outcomes altogether are rare indeed, and should saddle up to lead the charge from the start.
Of course, the time to offer up such insight was months ago.
Nevertheless, we are anxiously waiting to hear your strategy proposal. (Unless the last paragraph of your above comment was indicative of your strategy.)
Vuck? Your suggestion?...
Perhaps you didn't notice that I was still seeking your response.
:: crickets ::
Many, many hours later...and yet, no reply...
ha ha ha, love your style
Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
So When the Revolution kicks in
FOR REAL, I guess I cant trust you to stand next to me, fire your weapon, and take a bullet for freedom.
After all, your crying and cowering about 14 k.
PATHETIC weakling
Freedom may be worth searching for.
Remember, Dont battle the govt with guns(ALONE), Beat them in court, in state legislature, or hire Ron Paul for president.
WTF?
Cowering and crying? I have no stake in the $14k reimbursement to the TX GOP, and I'm being quite overt about it, i.e. hardly cowering and crying.
You need to take some basic science and/or math classes, learn something about making correlations.
As for "taking a bullet", I'm a veteran of Afghanistan, I was part of the northern invasion from Tajikistan. I've been in the fray, I've had bullets shot and mortars lobbed and IEDs exploded in my direction. I think I'm a bit beyond having to prove my mettle, as I've survived firefights...have you?
Before you continue with your keyboard commando nonsense, have an idea of who the heck you're talking to. I'm the last person who'll endure unfounded allegations of cowardice, since I've proven myself time and again, to the point of risking my life, which is something most of you couldn't claim without being bald faced liars.
If you need some outside bona fides about my willingness to grab a firearm, many of my detractors will tell you that I'm preaching preparedness for a REAL revolution, which doesn't include picnics in DC or concerts on the wrong side of the river from the party's convention.
Blowing $40k in a silly lawsuit isn't my idea of "taking a bullet for freedom". Its nothing more than people with no idea about tactics just throwing feces at the wall and hoping it'll stick. But, its not my money, so if they want to set it afire in the street in some inane demonstration, well, more power to them. Now that I think of it, publicly burning the money would've been more productive, as it would've reduced the M3 by a pittance.
Um, last I checked, the court and the legislature ARE the government. How about reviewing your posts before submitting them. As far as "hire Ron Paul", its OVER. Ron isn't even invited to the RNC convention, nor is he eligible for a second round of voting (candidates need majority in 5 states to be on subsequent rounds of ballots), should there be some far fetched chance of a second vote happening.
My apologies,
I too was in Afghanistan, at BAF, and worst I had to endure was rockets/mortors going over my head.
You Post comes off as a SISSY BULLCHIT complaint session of a measly 14k. Atleast these people tried/unsuccessfully I might add, to do SOMETHING.
As you have witnessed often the Politics of War, people uselessly dying to keep O R percentages, you can grasp what I am saying about your post. It was not constructive, nor useful, nor inspired. More of an admission of defeat and beating them down for attempting to do SOMETHING about the sad state of affairs they/we are in.
While it make sense to you to complain about it, it would have been better more as an IMFORMATIVE thing as to not repeat the same mistakes.
When I reference BATTLING GOVT with guns, I propose different avenues at BATTLING THE GOVT. Hire Ron Paul for president, is mostly a feel good thing to say, AS I COMPLETELY understand hell freezing over to a slim chance that he will make it.
Sadly I worry about your state of mind, Maybe you should change your scenery, unplug from the net, or stop watching the news. Maybe you should practice DILLIGAF instead of worrying about the next BOHICA.
Freedom may be worth searching for.
Remember, Dont battle the govt with guns(ALONE), Beat them in court, in state legislature, or hire Ron Paul for president.
You Post comes off as a
You Post comes off as a SISSY BULLCHIT complaint session of a measly 14k.
First off, the $14k is just the amount the Paul supporters have to reimburse the TX Republican Party for legal fees. The Paul supporters have legal bills totaling over $40k, the judgment inclusive, according to the two links on my original post and another story I read soon thereafter.
If these are median wage Americans, >$40k spread across a few plaintiffs is a big deal, particularly when splurged on a fruitless endeavor.
It was not constructive, nor useful, nor inspired.
I disagree. Pointing out a subsequent result of the fallacy of the "stealth delegates" and "hijack convention" is very constructive, and indicative of an individual's ego taking advantage of the endlessly hopeful supporter, via uninformed or intentionally misconstrued information with false promises of victory being an atrocity.
I, along with a few others, have been carrying this anti-Steve banner from day 1, and like Senator McCarthy, are being vindicated with time. He's been a wedge and destructive to the remnants of this political movement, and now others are suffering for taking his advice, which some of us have been pointing out as fallacious. I don't blame him directly for the idiotic lawsuit, but I sure as hell blame his false promises for the motivating factor and the events that induced this lawsuit.
More of an admission of defeat and beating them down for attempting to do SOMETHING about the sad state of affairs they/we are in.
Well, if people listened to those of us who were instantly skeptical and at least gave our voices a look-see, maybe this defeat could've been avoided, and these Paul supporters might not be in over $40k in debt to the TX Republican Party and involved parties.
Instead, we were instantly ostracized for not buying the sunshine at face value. Perish the thought, we asked questions! And to date, they still remained unanswered, which is anecdotally supported on the few threads I've posted on recently DIRECTLY to Steve/SGP asking pertinent questions about his abject failures (which were questions we were asking from the get-go). Too bad, and honestly, I hate being right in this case, but the fact of the matter is, I was and am, and for the very reasons I cited for the past half year.
When I reference BATTLING GOVT with guns, I propose different avenues at BATTLING THE GOVT.
Please explain, because you obviously don't mean for that to be taken literally, and all of the "different avenues" have proven moot. What would you propose? More protests? More marches? More attempts at winning rigged elections? Getting emotionally invested in more doomed-to-failure movements?
Sadly I worry about your state of mind
Yeah, I do to, ingesting reality for what it is can be a difficult cross to bear. I have a problem concocting a bubble of sunshine and rainbows backed by wishful thinking and false hopes. Its been a bane to me from day 1, but somebody has to call things as they are.
Remember, Dont battle the govt with guns(ALONE), Beat them in court, in state legislature, or hire Ron Paul for president.
Again, the court and legislatures are government, and Ron will not be a President. You might want to come up with a new signature that's a tad more feasible.
They were
Grown adults, they knew their actions had consequences, if not they learned a difficult lesson.
If you know how to discharge debt properly, IE understanding money doesnt truly exist in its current form, and the congress knowingly commited treason, made an escape route for Nat Born Human beings to use.
So 14 40 or 400 thousand dollars, Who TF cares, except those that made the mistake, and those who can learn from it. Again, make your thread about educating, and not ridiculing some fruitless act.
I am with you on the DSP thing, I dont think hes some one I see eye to eye on a few things, but he has helped spread the message of freedom a bit, so I thank him for it. Although I can't wave any ANTI-SP signs for I do not enjoy labels, nor do I care to eat my young as we in the libertarian(SO TO SPEAK) movement and cant unite behind anything and stab each other in the back to get NOTHING ACCOMPLISHED.. (like what me and you are doing)
I have followed Ron since 02 or bit earlier, when ever someone had said, that every congressman this or than, or should be hung, I always informed them that you should exclude RP.
What would you propose? More protests? More marches? More attempts at winning rigged elections? Getting emotionally invested in more doomed-to-failure movements?
NO I DON'T RECOMMEND any of that crap, divide and conquer, attack them were they are weakest, come up with ideas that is productive. Marches just get ignored, except by the few locals that witness it and may sway their lives from the uninformed. Im sorry that you got emotionally invested in RP and he didnt come through for you... You must have remembered what HOPE is, think back when you were in sandland and dodging bullets and mortars. Its just like that.
Read below for the breakdown of my closing line.
Freedom may be worth searching for.
Remember, Dont battle the govt with guns(ALONE) (THIS MEANS DONT BATTLE GOV AGENTS/MILITARY WITH GUNS all by your LONESOME), Beat them in court(OH MAN, you have no idea how powerful you as a natural born person/human being is in a court room. I have seen things I would never repeat on a website that blew my mind. My mentors were incredibly well versed in their sovereignty, also jury nullification) , in state legislature(TRY TO BECOME A CONGRESSMAN, MAKE YOUR OWN FIRM TO LOBBY FOR FREEDOM, COME UP WITH AN INSPIRED IDEA TO GET SOMETHING DONE), or hire Ron Paul for president. ( THE FEELGOOD THING TO SAY, A BIT OF HOPE, OPTIMISM, BUT I UNDERSTAND HIS SLIM TO NONE CHANCES. BUT WHAT HE DID WAS INSPIRED THE SLEEPING DOPES, INTO MAYBE HAVING A BIT OF MEANIING IN THEIR LIFE.
Sadly also, I have no hope for America, because I believe that it would need nothing more than an armed conflict to REliberate this country from the elites. Frankly, I don't think its going to happen, and that is the reason I have left. I have found more freedom in a country that has 10 million people, with no radar guns, no breathalizers, no cop cars(for the most part), right to carry permit, and hotter women than 2 rats screwing in a wool sock. If the bullets fly in the states, I WILL be back, until then, wake me up for the revolution.
I am not telling you, not help, educate, train your neighbors and buds and be prepared with weapons as you say you are a realist, I am only saying stop being close minded to change the way you come off trying to inform people about events...
THATS IT DUDE...
Lets use our heads
Having watched this site for quite a while it seems to me that whenever there is a post that attacks another Ron Paul supporter PERSONALLY... particularly certain ones who have been very active.... this poison is ALWAYS spread by the same people. Just because they may have gotten new screen names (even though they claim to have been supporters and participants for a long time), doesn't mean that they aren't still the same people spreading the same poison. I think we can all pretty well figure out who these people are. When they haven't gotten attention in a while they always come back with some out of the blue attack and start a thread that gets everyone participating in the poison until it spirals for a whole day.
I say, lets stop playing. They are sad and unhappy people who seem to have a problem with anger and hate. So let's let this nonsense die and continue with the Revolution.
You're absolutely right, Vuck...
So, why are you even here?
Member for 2 days? I smell agenda....
I may not know the truth, but I know when I'm being lied to...
Oh jeez
"Member for 2 days"...yeah, I didn't much care for the forums all that much, and I wasn't even really aware of them until recently. Just because of my recent choice to start posting on DP doesn't mean I haven't been around the campaign, unless this is the only place to have RP bona fides.
I've been active in this campaign at multiple levels and many forums since May of LAST YEAR. That's a whopping 15 months, when most of you were supporting Thompson, Huckabee, Tancredo, or whomever, and have recently converted.
And unlike most of you, I've known OF (capitalized, cuz I'm sure some will read it as saying I know Ron personally) Ron Paul and his platform as far back as the 1980s; I'm not a johnny-come-lately jump-on-a-bandwagon type, and I certainly am not agenda driven, I simply call BS when I see it, and the "hijack the conventions" and "stealth delegates" nonsense was exactly that...BS, as I said on my radio show from the first day that SGP/"Dr" Steve first appeared on the scene in the spring with some selectively cited, and in some cases concocted, information on how RP could somehow win the RNC convention next week.
And sorry, I couldn't help that registrations for new accounts were down for months, otherwise, I would've started posting earlier in the year.
Oh, and I'm sure if it hasn't been said it will be, I am not an old poster with a new acct. This is my first and only DP acct, which is more than I can say about the felon in question.
first of all you RAT,SCUM ,TROLL
whoever you are SGP gave no advice what so ever to file a law suit against the Texas gop I am very familuar with both this case and SGP.DO you see DR.Steve Parent name on the defendents list. The people on this list were shammed by a kangeroo court that in the pocket of the texas gop but they did this on their own free accord and having nothing to do with anything that SGP has advised.SGP onty advises on about the delegation process and not outside it.Go BACK to your hole from where you crawled from.
dude
It was his lame, ill founded, non factually based advice that lead people astray. First off...the primary is not a straw poll. Second, Ron got destroyed in the TX primary. At that point it was over. If you decided to listen to the advice of some carpet bagger felon, that was your choice. Mess with the bull and get the horns. Hope some of you kids learned something about blind faith.
ok so what
was your brillaint idea BIGSHOT we didnt have the luxary of turning off the lights when thing didnt go our way.I never saw you step up to the plate or anyone else and give us a better advise. My God lets just get out the nails and the wood and crucufy him.
My idea
My brilliant idea was we lost. Deal with it and move on. Plan for the future. Don't listen to some two bit felon scumbag. Just some advice for the future.
The Lawsuit
isn't about winning or losing in the primary.
The lawsuit is about blatant rule violations. I posted the link in a previous post....Feel free to take a look.
your so right
I guess Im just gonna go ahead and vote for Mccain why rock the boat it was a very silly idea to even try to get anyone elected since DIBOLD determines the winner anyway.
ahh
I suppose by "moving on" you mean scurring your narrow little ass behind the party hacks and fall in-line with the anti_Obama routine? These people took their sense of duty to do the right thing and you split hairs at who's at fault?
The two bit felon scumbag you talk about is John McCain .
OMG JOO R NOOB BRILLIANT!!!
Ur idee make me want love with Obama.
I lurv you in heart of golden country with long happy face.
Wheneer ur post came online it make me se that happiness we have for America. But not just AMerica cuz we are world citizne too.
ALso
I tink mebbe ur future planin is blind fiatth like you say earlier -- les not plan cuz that would be just nother letdown and I can only have 1 letdown at a time in my life.
Insted lets jus keep on postin here tryin to look smart to the Paultards. They no we hav the mister plan and they will loose!
Dude Dude Dude!@!
Like totally it was about catching waves -- you just gotta like wait off for the wave like on MTV.
Then like when the awesome wave takes you just ride it alonnngg man.
Crusinin to the GOP like McCain -- you gotta be loose man, otherwise mother tsunami will crush you...
That's why all the dudes and dudettes call me little frog, cuz I like hop all around waitin for the right wave to take me through life and like man, now I think Obama is gonna be the man.
Blind faith never gets you anywhere -- you gotta just tune into nature and see what's on TV and look at polls and stuff cuz man that's what's real you know like these mushrooms Im gonnaa try later on.
reality
reality can sting sometimes...suck it up and move on
OH we will move on.
believe me weve got a big november surprise for you and your mccain camp.At which I would be crazy to reveal to you now and so just go ahead and go back to mccain HQ and and tell them that .WE would have been very sucessful at the state level if we had had STEALTH so that all you trolls coulnt report what we were doing but come november baby what we have instore you will assure that mccslimball will never get elected.
Your reality make me
want to club seals, but I won't cuz I'm a member of PETA and I love you.
ALso PlZ I would like help lernin to suck up to McCain and Obama like you.
I see you suckin everyday on them and I think you are like the expert on Daily Paul and DIGG.
We could form like a suckin coalition of the suckiest suckers of suckdom.
But anyways can you tell me, after all the suckin you do isn't your lips sore?
Do you put Ice on them cuz I don't know how you stop suckinn so much in your life and not be sore.
LOL!
Can't stop laughing! Thanks for bitch-slapping this troll like he deserves!
Wrong again.
The people leading the charge in the lawsuit were not followers of SGP. They've got YEARS of experience within the GOP and were fighting the good fight.
Please get your facts straight before posting BS here about who's following whom.
please
Please define "good fight" after Ron pulled 5% in the TX primaries. Did all the Paultards fail math? Seriously...if he had pulled 20-30% one could take you seriously...but don't talk smack when he was a non factor.
Vuck U
I don't need to "talk smack" since I speak the truth.....Unlike you, VuckU.
Please take the time to LEARN of these things before posting nonsense here.
How about: Delegates to GOP conventions that voted in the DEMOCRAT PRIMARY? There were huge problems and abundant rule violations across the state. These Texas are attempting to correct the wrongs in Texas. If you don't like it, don't participate. I don't believe anyone invited you anyway.
I'm not sure why you think this lawsuit has anything to do with SGP, but get over your superiority complex. No one here believes anything Mr. I've-Been-Here-A-Red-Hot-30-Minutes has to say anyway.
What a loser!!!! You're buddy's screen name.....Joke's on you, VuckU! LMAO!
Um...
I'm Vuck, not El-Buggo. If you need substantiation, I post on this board from a static T1 IP address, check with the powers that be as to the source IP of the posts before you lob BS allegations.
If you hadn't noticed, the people that filed this lawsuit are from one of the meetups SGP pontificated about for months. Its the same people who made fools of themselves (its on YouTube, if you don't believe me) with their obvious lack of understanding of Robert's Rules of Order during their respective convention, which seems to be a common citation around here when it comes to convention hijacking topics. These are people who bought the "we can still win" nonsense, and they took it a step further, and are now getting bit in the aft section by a rabid dog.
So, when does the chipin start to help reimburse these Paul supporters their $14k+?
sorry
Sorry honey...the Ebonics threw me...I need a translation. Now this is making more sense to me. I see the level of Paultard involved in this waste of time.
Yawn......
You still haven't addressed the issue of why you're here trying to spread dis-info.
Nice try.....
Dude just chill out and smoke a bowl
and like use your math brain to count beans or somethin.
Cuz like Ron Paul and his revolution only matters so much you are always postin like a whiny bitch...
But did that's okay, you know like cuz I believe in love and peace and harmony and lettin it be gone and by.
We should get together sometime on digg and bury some "Paultards" cuz like man I heard that's your talent in life. Like you know maybe we could go find a wig and dress you up like Paris Hitlon, but dude you know I would soooo doo you then so like yeah.
And also man I think your opinion is the one that me and Obama and McCain agree with cuz you're almost as cool as us, but not really because you spend too much time on the internet posting.
Oh heyy man I cant wait till Obama reveals his VP in text message, I bet you will orgasm with me when you see who it is. I know you willl cuz we have like this love connection thing and yeah.
Real Story is here
http://www.fairconvention...
To the original poster I say: Vuck You!
OMG not the truth!
It's blinding like the sun!
The trolls will crawl out of their caves and bridges to attack you now!
LOL!
Let 'em bring it on....
I like sgp
how was he supposed to know that was going to happen. If we didnt take his advise then the gop would have walked away with the win without breaking a sweat.
The Republicans DID walk away w/o a sweat
If you hadn't noticed, McCain got more than 50% of the TX primary vote, which means that it is a winner-take-all state by state party rules and the delegates are bound for the first round of voting, i.e. McCain has the state's delegates locked up no matter how many stealth delegates were able to be put in place. There's absolutely no reason at any point since Super Tuesday to believe that there would be a brokered convention, i.e. there wouldn't be a second round of voting to unbind those stealth delegates. Let's not forget as well that a Republican candidate must have the majority of votes in five states to participate in the second round of voting at the RNC convention, and Ron has a whopping 0 to his name, i.e. he wouldn't have even been eligible to get those delegates anyway.
This is the stuff that Steve, the self-proclaimed delegate expert, DIDN'T tell you or anybody else buying the "ron can still win" line post-Super Tuesday.
vote
What % of the vote did Ron Paul get in the TX primary?
Now look up frivilous.
Mystery solved.
El-Buggo
Delegates Revolt For Freedom !!!
Ron got around 6,500 for pres primary and 70,000 for congress same district.
Seem kind of odd to you?
5%
Does 5% statewide in the TX primary ring a bell?
I didn't care for him
before but I like him a lot more now. Just my two cents. Peace
Follow the felon scammer Dr Steve and this was predictable
We've been trying to warn you all about following this convicted felon... he's been caught in so many lies we quit keeping track of them. Following all these opportunist carpetbaggers will not save this country. Get organized locally to do what you have to do... that's the only advice that is needed!!!
oh look!!! another long time
oh look!!! another long time member... duh... 2 days again. Were you just bored Wednesday and set up multiple troll names?
I was an RP supporter before you even knew who he was
Looks like Dr Steve has a new identity too...
rprevolutionist = Dr Steve now?
don't be an ass. I have
don't be an ass. I have been here for a very long time. And I don't doubt you knew who Ron Paul was long before I did. I only learned of him in May of 2007. I just feel that a 2 day member here really shouldn't be badmouthing anyone that has been here for a long time nor should you be namecalling or starting lies about me. Now if you would like to discuss this please go to my profile and e-mail me your phone number and I will gladly call you to let you know I am not Steve Parent.
But I don't recall your name in any posts that helped people become delegates and try to take their local gop back to basic conservative principles.
