Are you conflicted?

Okay I posted this under Why did I wake up.

But for me it's real, so I decided to post a new thread and want your feed back. Regarding why and or when did I wake up. Are you spiritually conflicted.

I have had 4 years and mine started to when I began to question 9/11 and the IRS

I bought the book Federal Mafia and when it arrived in the mail it sat around for a few months before I could actually read it, same with Health Secrets the Government doesn't want you to know. and Medical Atrosities the Government doesnt want you to know about.

But when I started reading my mind exploded. It is so heavy that I grew in spurts. I would read and read and read and then I would go cold for months.

About a year ago I really began to follow Ron Paul, reading his speaches on the floor and anything I could learn of him. He really has changed my life (and so many of you)!

I didn't start my dailypaul account for many months after learning of this site. I spied for about 4 months before I opened my account. And when I did there was such momentum that is why my name is letushope. I was so hoping he would secure the nomination. I was so niaeve (sp) but thats okay too.

I am wrestling with two things right now. First is the realization that I am spiritually not putting my faith where it needs to be. I am a Taurus and feel like I have to be in control. My future depends on my working for it and obtaining it. What is being revealed to me is that - that is not putting my faith in control and solutions is not what the whole point of faith is. I have some real reconciling to do.

Second is my career. After learning about the 1933 revision to the trading with the enemy during times of war act. I know it's not the right title, but after learning of all the changes that took effect in 1933, the social security number, the birth certificate etc and began to understand admiralty law vs. constitional law. I am understanding that every time you obtain any of these things plus any licenses, permits etc you consent to admiralty law. I am now a fire marshal and you can't build anything without my approving your building permit, you have to have a set of plans from an architect (licensed), with specialty systems mechanical, electrical, structural, fire engineered from a licensed engineer and finally approved by both the fire licensed official and the building licensed official. I am exhausted by the levels of ownership all under admiralty law. And I am a part of it.

Hi Letushope...

For what it's worth, I spent 20 years in the service of the "alphabet soup" agencies in and around D.C. I had a LOT of "badges"... lol...

After I got to the point where I understood what I was serving, I - literally - couldn't sleep at night.

I walked away from a company that I founded in Northern VA (at a billable rate of WELL over $100/hour - which was pretty common, btw), sold my house, and moved my family to rural Maine. The "downside" of that (if there is one) is that I now make less than a quarter of that. At least I can sleep at night... One of the highlights of my new life is that I spend a lot of time clipping coupons and go "looting" when there's a good sale on...

I could not be a part of it any longer. I did have some righteous sweet corn from my neighbor's fields yesterday and have chicken crap all around my new home... The men here are honest, hard-working, up-front, and good friends. Even trade? I think so. Feel free to call me crazy - all my old "friends" do... Cabbage is coming in soon!

I would write more, but I gotta cut and split a LOT of wood tomorrow... It's in the 40's here at night already. :)

Wishing all the best to you in your situation... I don't envy you - it's a tough decision... Follow your heart and you'll sleep well...

Yours in Liberty,

Shovel

This is what I said:

Not sure what religion or faith you have, but I am a christian.

Remember that an objectivist does not take a position on a diety.

We are all born with ethics despite the lack of or the existance of such.

It is not in our soul, but our very genes.

I am a practicing catholic, but I look at life like a protestant would.

The christian mentality is that God created each of us in his own image, gave us free will, and then gave us the option of salvation through Christ. The protestant phylosophy is that you gain salvation through your hard work. If you work hard, make a living, become successful, and create a legacy this is how you are measured by God through the eye of a protastant. A catholic believes that you can be a bum, but if you ask for forgiveness (i.e. in the old days pay for an indulgence) you will be saved.

All this precedes where the phylosophy of objectivism begins.

Do as you wish with your faith.

Objectivism does not deal with faith, it deals with evidence, facts, and truth. Above all else, before you can act ethically you must first seek knowledge. What I mean by ethics is pure self serving, self preservation action. Afterall how can you save the world if you can't first save yourself?

I hope this helps. I can go further if you like.

Update:
As far as you being a fire inspector, don't sweat it. Who do you think signs Dr. Paul's paychecks? Do your job to the best of your ability, be successful, and spend your fortunes to further freedom. You need to work within the system to bring it down. Don't take my word for it, ask Ron Paul.

I will add that in my opinion all that admiralty law crap is just that ... crap.
Again, don't take my word for it, ask Dr. Paul.

Keep your eye on the big picture.

You know what to do ...

We all have our roles.

WAHOR!!

Most importantly

It is who you are, not what you do, that matters. Remember the "tax collector." None of us are perfect.

Since you seem to be asking

Since you seem to be asking for advice over this, my two cents (for what its worth) is don't quit your job. My father has told me horror stories of health inspectors, cops and fire marshals who just try to extort money for the city. You being an honest fire marshal is a big thing, and the people in your city should be happy to have you. If you feel conflicted about your role as part of the government, just do your job as honestly as you can.

All of us are part of the system in some way. We each have to use Federal Reserve notes at the bare minimum. I'm in the same boat as you in terms of waking up a while back (over 9/11 too) and trying to figure out how to change my life appropriately. Its tough but we need to work towards it one day at a time.

First thing I'd do is stop

First thing I'd do is stop putting stock into that irrational astrology nonsense.

lettuce: Relax

You're in the right place at the right time.

We need patriots on the inside.

And at least in the public buildings you provide a measure of public safety. I've owned commercial property and when I expanded I always called the local Fire Marshall and had him come out for coffee and asked his advice. I wanted the best quality and it only benefited myself and those who used my facility.

Now New York City is a whole other story. Graft, intimidation, ARMED agents raid places for fire code violations. Those guys ARE goons.

You sound like you feel guilty

about being part of it. We all are in the system to one degree or another. You are not betraying yourself. You have awakened to what reality you are within and are motivated to change it as we all are. Stay and do what you enjoy doing and the changes will happen from the inside out.

Knowing what you know...

...why are you still a part of it? And when will you stop being a part of it?

http://groups.yahoo.com/g...

that is a delima

I am good at what I do and if I leave, someone who gets off on the control and the high of being the Man In Charge will take my place. So many people come through my world and compliment me for being "normal" they say I am a breath of fresh air because I get it! If I leave some crack pot authority driven hitler will replace me. I tell people every day that I hate government. It is no secret, in fact my interview I said these words and still got the job.

Evan still I know it's not where I belong. And I am just like most on this site who have a mortgage, a car payment etc. A kid going off to college in a few years. The same could be said why do you have a license in your wallet.

Don't take that wrong, I am not trying to call you out or argue, but the level of the ownership is the question. So I quit my job, do I turn in my license, my SS card, my birth certificate?

!!!Truth is treason in the EMPIRE OF LIES!!!

I understand you feeling like

"am I selling myself out?" But you say you are good at what you do and you have to make a living. Maybe somehow being involved in changing things locally like RP suggests. To me, it is admirable that you are questioning things, but you still need to provide for your family. You can still have a positive impact, though - just think how you can. It will come.
"For with God nothing shall be impossible"

Well, I don't exactly equate a "license"...

...with other levels of philosophical inconsistency. It's more passive than actively involved (especially when it's the ONLY allowance for expediency). Nevertheless, I do feel for you in your dilemma. It's a trap that many fall into (myself included, once upon a time). However, I was fortunate enough to have "taken the red pill" long before I got sucked into that mortgage/car payment/kid college-trap. I guess all you can do in your situation is consciously work VERY hard to go in the direction you know you need to go (i.e. no contractual traps). A very good first step might be looking for equally-lucrative employment that doesn't compromise your principles (nearly as much).

I guess I should mention that this advice comes from a radical libertarian/anarcho-capitalist perspective. So it may not be as PC and feel-good as other perspectives.... :-)
