Is Pelosi either cynical or stupid?

Perhaps Pelosi couldn't explain because she's as corrupt and cynical, and sees her job as a for profit scam.

True, we may find the questioning combative and revolting, but she did nothing to defend her ostensible motive of Democrat-ethos of altruistic, non-profit public service.

Perhaps, because being a career pig, she doesn't take it seriously herself. Honestly, I can see the sneering cynicism of the Durbins and Schumers just festering and boiling.

Which federalist paper are there types described in? I must look it up.

This video is lame

I'm sorry, but as much as I don't really like Pelosi, she answered this guy's question just fine. She was polite and put up with him for much longer than I would have. If he can't understand the concept of an unpaid or volunteer internship, which even private companies will do, then he is a complete idiot. Volunteering is something that almost all students do - it looks good on a resume and oftentimes you must do it to get your foot in the door. This interviewer's attitude and method was ridiculous and only made him look stupid. He was rude and he kept interrupting her like O'Reilly and Hannity do (which is BEYOND irritating and totally unprofessional). He acted as if she was dodging the "question" which was not even logical in the way he was forcing it. Pelosi was the only professional one in this "interview" - this guy is an idiot.

He did the interview to show the hypocrisy of the minimum wage

Someone could volunteer for Nancy and not get paid.
But one cannot do they same thing for McDonalds. The politicians have passed laws that won't allow it!

Badgering and browbeating characterized as Socratic Method?

Interviewer is an asshole, but...Contribute to Cindy Sheehan and ditch this bitch (Pelosi).

Jan in my opinion is very effective in revealing the brutish

nature of our politicians by insisting on being directly answed. Their refusal to answer, and out right hostility is revealing indeed.

"Never try to teach a pig to sing, it only wastes your time and annoys the pig".

Spot On

Ron Paul does not participate in raises. He puts the money back.

Sorry...

but this guy is an ass. You will never get taken seriously being a jerk. He is a low-rate bill oreilley wannabe. As much as i dislike pelosi she came off looking like the "good guy" here. Most of this guys interviews seem to end up with him looking like the fool. No one will take a guy like him seriously.

good guy

i liked the interview.

i think pelosi came off evasive and ill-prepared.

You're a Democrat

You're an ass. This guy is right. Why fund (pay) congress critters for their ineffectiveness? You come off as a democrat.

Let's be fair

We can all show a little more respect around here. No reason to go around name-calling, especially accusing someone of being a Democrat who prefaces their statements with "As much as I dislike Pelosi".

He did remind me of Bill O'Reilly, interrupting, repeatedly asking to answer the question. You can ask tough questions and be polite. The VIEWER should realize when the interviewees are avoiding the questions and being dishonest without the interviewer passing judgment.

EDIT: I just went and watched all of his videos. I thought they were outstanding. Just wish he allowed them to complete their sentences.

Watch all of Helfeld's intervies,

send them to the unenlightened. Helfeld calmly, politely rips the away politicians' masks to reveal naked, ignorant thuggishness underneath..

Definitely

That Congressman he interviews who says that a bigger National Debt is a good thing is such a condescending prick!

Man, these vids should be put to use by people campaigning against these crooks.

This is anti-Ron Paul

Ron Paul would see nothing wrong with an intern working for a stipend as opposed to minimum wage. A *voluntary* agreement between two people is perfectly legitimate. If you want to work in Washington and are inexperienced and want to get your feet wet, working as an intern is a great vehicle for that. What is this Jan guy getting on her case for? Minimum wage is BS.

I think you missed the point

I think you missed the point of the video. The interviewer is clearly pointing out Pelosi's hypocrisy and a job well done.

Take a look

at Jan's other interviews on YOUTUBE....this guy is the "KING" of cornering somebody. It is incredible.....

Please take the time to review every other video before you make judgement....He makes the Director of the CIA walk out.....because he frames the question in such a way that you can't sidestep it.....Now I understand that some people here think Jan is being "Obnoxious" but he is not....when a politician starts to go down a path of avoidance, Jan brings them right back to the real question.......I wish I had Jan's talent....WOW!! I wish all of the MSM would question people like this!

Don't worry, the interviewer is opposed to minimum wages

In the interview he is trying to point out its stupidity.

The interviewer is a libertarian--check out his video interview where he grills a Congressman on whether taxation is voluntary or not.

Pelosi certainly looks like she believes Jan Helfeld

sucks but,
I think he does a great job of pointing out a small part of the huge hypocrisy of our laws as it applies to our government/leaders. To be a political “Intern” is apparently the modern version of “indentured servitude”. You can only wonder if intern Lewinsky got minimum wages and how she managed to explain that experience on her resume.
So THAT’S what it looks like when a politician is not allowed to skirt a question.
I found it a very revealing snapshot. Thanks for sharing

Jan Helfeld sucks....

Look, I really don't like Nancy Peolosi but I would not wish this idiot interviewer on anyone. Helfeld's voice comes off as kind of comedic, like he is going for laughs...like he is Peter Sellers in the Pink Panther or Borat or something. The pain comes in when he is totally not laughed at by the interviewee and amazingly, taken seriously.

So lets take Jan Helfeld seriously then.

Jan Helfeld is an "attack" dog for his own point, which one must say, "Who cares about his point?". Further, he makes it badly. Write a book Jan! If Jan Helfeld has points to make, ....via USING the interview and the interveiwee as his canvass and his questions as his paint brush, ...then he his horrible at it, a total amature. Its like watching beginner interviewer in training school, and you can't wait to see him graduate all polished, and with a better voice that changes tone once in a while.

Seriously, Jan Helfeld sucks at what he tries to do. He is no good at it. "Socratic method" my asssss.

Jan, he should study John Stossel, a socratic interview master, who like Helfeld, uses the interview to make HIS point. Jan should just watch Wolf Blitzer, Hannity, O'Rielly and a dozen other interviewers who do this type of self serving interview. I hate it. Its second hand.

For me, I will always appreciate the best of the best at it, the one that does it so well, so smooth, and so professionally that many people over the years never notice.... Bill Moyers. Indeed, I encourage all of you to watch any Moyers interview, its a pleasure to watch. Most telling of his talent is when he has someoone like Dr. Paul who champions other ideas that he does not hold.

Let me put it this way, Ron Paul never votes FOR increasing the min. Wage. He does not believe in it. But apparently Jon Helfeld does believe in it. Bill Moyers also believes in it. Both Jan & Bill Moyers both champions of the min, wage,....But if I wanted to watch and listen to this kind of interview with Dr. Paul, I would hope Dr. Paul would stay clear of Jan- the- amature- Helfeld and go interview with Bill Moyers..... At least both Paul and Moyers could at least make their points, FULLY, without the brutt interuptions.

In Peace & Liberty,

Treg

What made you think he is for min wage?

I think you would better understand the "Socratic Method" if you realized that Jan isn't advocating for the minimum wage. He is getting the interviewee to reconsider and come to the conclusion of their inconsistencies.

He would like Pelosi to realize that there are people willing to work for less than the minimum wage and that is OK, especially since she is allowing it in her organization.

This guy's interview is spot on...

For showing how the min. wage system is flawed.

Anyone who believes in min. wage or is against it should be able to see that you can't have both ways -- that is unless you are too high on your horse to care.

I sometimes wonder how many people here even listen to the things Ron Paul talks about.

Obama is going to be requiring 50 or so mandatory hours of community service for High School students.

I think they should be paid at least min. wage and all child labor laws followed to the fullest.

They put so many restrictions and requirements on people that restrictions and requirements for the individual must be met in return.

I wish he hadn't used McDonald's

In his videos, I find the repetitive, driving nature of his questioning to be effective at breaking their posturing. However, I wish in this interview he hadn't used McDonald's as his example of a place somebody would like to volunteer at for a small stipend. That is because working at McDonald's hardly teaches you much, and the skills garnered there are not highly valuable. Yes, you could learn decent, basic customer service and work place interaction. However, he should of used an example of a building contractor, where there are very highly developed skills being used and taught. People would conceivably volunteer to learn them at below minimum wage. Really just about anything other than McDonald's. The extreme unreal example of a retail outfit made him pretty easy for Pelosi to dismiss without losing too much face.

It was a perfect example

You just can't see it.

There are plenty of illegal aliens what would love to work at McDonald's for under min wage when they first get here (especially if they get discounted "food").

Working as an intern does not guarantee to expose you to anything. You're probably fetching someone coffee and copying papers in a machine most of the time.

I wouldn't have put up with this guy for even ONE minute!

Geez, what a jerk.

umm what's wrong with her answer?

The guy was being very combative in his questioning and attitude. His question was extremely stupid in the first place and she answered it. I hate Pelosi just as much as the next guy for defying the will of the people and getting Bush's ass impeached but damn the guy was a bigger asshole than she is. This is a stupid stupid "interview" if you even want to call it that. Very unprofessional.
