This "MSM reporter story" is incomplete, how do you make a judgment but by general terms only. Most video reports seen here have that flaw or the possibility of that flaw.

I watched the video. The reporter did not ignore the police. He merely asked them to wait. He is a citizen and there was no life-threatening danger or situation that was obviously present or even hinted at. Absent probable cause or a clear violation of a law, that policeman had no more genuine authority to stop and interrupt the life of that citizen than I would have. Refusing to surrender a natural inherent and inalienable right does not constitute probable cause and one cannot be lawfully forced to surrender one right in order to assert another right. That citizen made no attempt at escape and did not engage in any hostile activity toward those police officers. Quite the contrary, it was the policeman who displayed physical force and the threat of violence, evidenced by the force he used pushing that citizen into a street where traffic was underway. This citizen, who was also "carrying out his orders" by way of his job, had to be subdued by four police officers, with at least two additional officers guarding them. While one might quibble about the manners displayed by this particular citizen, I am not aware of any legal obligation for a individual to display good manners. The display and use of good manners is perhaps a worthy characteristic to adopt, but hardly a basis upon which to undertake physical force against an individual or place that individual under arrest.
