A 57-year-old man charged with assaulting a police officer had all charges dropped when this video tape emerged. On the video, which was shot outside Coors Field on the home opener of the Colorado Rockies game on April 4, undercover Denver Police detectives hit, kick and choke John Heaney.

He Could Have Avoided It
Sounds like it could have been avoided. Instead of just riding on his merry way when the cop called him an "ass-hole", he rode up to the cop and knocked his hat off (a minor form of assault). Naturally the cops over-reacted, but that's what happens in a society filled with people lacking self-esteem. Fortunately the video evidence helped prevent a greater injustice from occuring here. People are too easily offended by mere words and too willing to respond with force (as both parties were here). Hopefully they all learned something.

the cops pulled a tony soprano on the guy's teeth & then lied under oath to cover their own asses. they were willing to send this guy to jail for 3 yrs.
i'm hoping you either, didn't mean your comment to be interpreted the way it sounds, or that you're really a bush/cheney/rove/mccain supporter in disguise.

Hearing the teeth breaking from the cop slamming his face into the concrete was disturbing.
Watching these cops striking the man repeatedly angered me. All of this was over an allegation he ran a red light on a bicycle?
What kind of people are being hired by the Denver PD? Psychopaths? Control freaks who feel the need to punch people?
The fact they lied under oath creates a problem for every arrest they ever made and every conviction that used their testimony. Clearly they have no integrity at all.
