the reason they might have to cancel is because they are going to go down there to help evacuate the area and pass out water. lol

has it coming into the gulf more slowly than originally predicted. It is no longer directed at New Orleans, but at Texas, and is not expected until late Tuesday night. Also it is now predicted to be a cat. 2 rather than 3. I don't think it will delay the Republican Convention. Hopefully it will not hit Dr. Paul's district either, and not even be a cat. 2.

Should (If Mccain goes for photo ops in La. if storm hits) Go and put on our boots and really do something to help clean up after he does his posing and nothing else. Besides, why would he get to decide to cancel? He is'nt the definate nominee yet. Who is this guy. He's already acting like he is the president with the Russia/Georgia thing. Rescheduling the GOP Convention would turn into a bigger fiasco than the Nevada GOP's attempt, or non attempt, to hold a delayed convention. The delegates would not be able to schedule more vacation time from work on short notice, the hotels are probably substantially already booked with non-delegates, etc... This just isn't going to happen.

Having delegates send in their ballots does not make for good tv.

They are probably hoping that the CFL continues while the RNC is rescheduled. They don't want to be upstaged and it looks like they are going to be.

No mention of the possible GOP delay on the C4L site that I could see. I know some people with tickets to fly and hotel reservations from south Texas. They will be really stressed economically by this if it happens.

The Republicans are afraid of being seen as partying while New Orleans is being destroyed.

What about the C4L events? Many of them have less to spend than the delegates to the GOP. Ron Paul cannot reschedule. Will the press still be there? Will they all run off to La? Will some of the Republicans who already have tickets and reservations decide to come to the Ralley for the Republic instead? It's only one day, but if they're there already ...

Do you think the airlines and hotels will negotiate a change to help out the delegates to the GOP? It would be most unusual to do that wholesale.

If they delay it by more than a day, the Paul events will be deprived of so much press, publicity, and excitement. The banners in the Mall of America will play to ordinary shoppers. Bummer.

1) The great media coverage he could gain by devestating photo ops in the ruins of Louisana, and his immediate action and bla bla bla. There he will be in his rain suit, rubber boots and all, "My Friends Louisana" we will survive this, we will rebuild, better, stronger and bla, bla , bla.

2) To root out those delegates who can't afford to reschedule. An economic genocide of a greater level. Face it, you better have a dollar tree to play this game to start with. Rescheduling will weed out even more and those with the dollars are behind McSick.

was how do you change all of this. Really. McCain and his buddies may want to look like nice guys but how many people are involved that can just change everything last minute? That is so unrealistic. People in New Orleans shouldn't have taken a hint and gotten completely outa there when Katrina hit. I just don't know. I never would have gone back there after that.
So, do you think they really will do this? How could they? I just can't think that they can.

Not to mention, the DNC provided "drama" with Hilary, et. al., but McCain has been suffering for a lack of competion. It's one of the reasons Barr and Dr. Paul get more coverage, now: the press need something to try and make McCain's campaign interesting.

Actually, our highest delegate counts are not in these gulf states. Let LA stay home, let Mississippi stay home. Let Alabama and FL stay home. From what I understand we don't have many delegates in these states.

Of course, you know OUR delegates will go!
