DENVER - Republican presidential candidate John McCain decided on a running mate early Thursday, and one top prospect, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, abruptly canceled numerous public appearances.

The Arizona senator will appear with his No. 2 at an Ohio rally on Friday, aides said, though they provided no details on McCain's pick...

First off, may I briefly belch out an adolescent guffaw at the statement, "The Arizona senator will appear with his No. 2"??....hehe heh heh hawr {snort!}
Now, on a far more serious note: notice the above statement, wherein it says "HIS" number two.
The VP choice isn't supposed to be "his" any more than it's supposed to be Obama's (or Bob Barr's, or Chuck Baldwin's, or Ron Paul's, for that matter).

Not that that silly ol' Constitution will get in the way of anyone's plans.
Cheney....
Of course..... McCain /Cheney...mixes together like war and oil!
What if he chose Dubya?
Could he constitutionally do that? (not that constitutionality means anything much nowadays anyway). I wouldn't put it past the neocon f#$ker!
Oh man, what if he chose CHENEY?
I think he'll choose his wife
so she can put on his bib and wipe his ass.

Technically
W could be vice president for life if he got elected every cycle. He is only prevented from being president for more than two additional years should he have to take over for someone.
Cheney has no restrictions.
never in your life
Even McCain would not selecting Jeb Bush would be his death signal.
He may be dumb, but I don't
He may be dumb, but I don't think he is that dumb...I believe that that choice would definitely sink him (not that I think he'll win otherwise).
I've made a point of approaching the County Republican tables at the fairs we've been going to and letting them know I won't be voting McCain and why.
The first one, I was wearing my Ron Paul sweatshirt (on purpose). Guy asked me if I was planning on voting McCain, now that "my guy" was out of the race. I told him, under no circumstances would I. And that I am planning on going 3rd party. Near the end of the conversation, the Governor walked up! He didn't say anything, though while shaking my hand, he got a good look at my sweatshirt! He is anti-Ron Paul.
Second time, I told a man that I was unhappy with the way the Republican party is going and that they are making a mistake nominating McCain. He said, "so you're supporting Obama?" I told him "definitely not"! "So you won't vote", he says. "Of course I'll vote, but I'll vote 3rd party".
The fair runs through Labor Day and I hope to swing by the booth a couple more times and let more people know. I doubt they are writing these comments done, but at least I give those people something to think about (what!!! you don't just vote party-line!).
Yikes
I don't think I could stand to see any more of Romney.
i still say
this is all a ruse my horse in this race is still lieberman.
I wouldn't be surprised if
I wouldn't be surprised if it's Lieberman or even John Kerry. McCain wanted to switch sides back in 2004 and become a Democrat... what's to stop Kerry from changing up and calling himself a Republican?
I don't think Kerry is very
I don't think Kerry is very happy with the republicans and the swiftboat deal.
