First it was soda; now: ice cream

Presidential candidate ice creams announced by Baskin Robbins: Straight Talk Crunch (McCain) and Whirl of Change (Obama).

Recently, I was in our local Baskin Robbins ice cream store, and they already had these flavors available for purchase, although they're not supposed to be officially released until Sept. 3rd.

(No, I didn't taste them. I went for the good ol' standbys of Jamoca and Peanut Butter & Chocolate.)

I'm thinking we need to pull a Jones Cola: how about encouraging some smaller ice cream outfit to release R3volution Ribbon? My envisioned recipe:

- Pure vanilla (unadulterated) and blueberry ice cream (with real blueberries in it -- nothing artificial, here!)

- Ribbons of Raspberry throughout (as our comment to the NWO; colored with beet juice to avoid the nasty, body-chemistry-altering Red 40 food coloring)

- Sweetened with pure cane juice

Get an ice cream manufacturer to make this using NON-rBst milk, slap the C4L logo on it (oooooh, maybe one of Geeksneek's fabulous logos?*), and you have a product fit for r3volution celebrations across the nation!

Why for seek out a different company than BR to make this? Well, they'd never go for the all-natural ingredients for one thing. Plus, supporting smaller dairies/manufacturers is a Nice Thing To Do. And of course, there's the whole David vs. Goliath scenario that smaller companies and our movement can both identify with.

So, who wants to scream for ice cream?
