Yeah it's pretty clear that
part of the strategy of choosing her was to attract Paul supporters to vote for him instead of Barr so they won't swing the election to Obama.

Don't blame me if there's no voice for liberty opposing McCain and Obama in the Presidential debates. I donated to Ron Paul Libertarian, Bob Barr's campaign.
Last ditch hope to keep 15% of the GOP "in line"
Ron Paul republicans are at least 15% of the GOP. McCain cannot afford to lose even 5%. Sarah Palin was his last ditch effort to keep the Ron Paulites on the GOP Wagon.
Will it work? We shall see.
I don't like McCain anymore because of it. Actually, I like him less (and I never thought that was possible!). He just happened to pick the most popular female politician (90% approval ratings) and will ride her popularity for as long as he can.
But I still don't blame Sarah or hold her in any less esteem for choosing to do this. She has her reasons. We all have our roles. She is an avowed opponent of corruption within the party and within the government. If she can effect change from the inside of the GOP, then having her as VP could be very much helpful to our overall goals.
