fundamental evil in America. If I were a prophet, and could know for certain that McCain would have the opportunity to effect a majority of Supreme Court justices who would overturn Roe v. Wade, and would actually appoint said justices, I would vote for him in spite of the many bad things I know he would do. But, his addition of a pro-life running mate to the package doesn't change the fact that McCain would probably not appoint a solid pro-life judge, given the opportunity.

It seems that many people are biting on the pro-life Palin lure that is covering the Neo-con hook. Once again, many Christians are being duped to vote for the Republican candidate. These good folks do this every four years; they never learn. If McCain wins, there is a 90% chance that he would not improve the Supreme Court, and a 100% chance that we will get more war, more economic trouble, more police state, and will be worse off overall. I go on record now to say to those who vowed they would never vote for McCain - and who are now sure they will - , "I told you so."

Ron Paul on Sarah Palin

For those who have been waiting for an answer, he was just on AM 1280 in Minnesota and was asked about her. He said it was a "shrewd" pick on McCain's part, and that she seemed like a good person who he hoped would help steer McCain in the right direction on limiting government and making it less invasive in people's lives. But he also said that you shouldn't "hold your breath" because McCain probably isn't going to be influenced like Bush was with Cheney.

He then went on to say he thinks people should vote for someone like Barr or Baldwin, rather then try and vote for the lesser of two evils, though he doesn't seem to have plans to endorse either (still.)

All this is, is a ploy to try to attract people who couldn't get on board with McCain, to "come back to Papa".

Palin can attract the gender-activist women's vote, many of which are disgruntled that Hillary lost. Pretty big demographic there, and one that pulls voters from the Dem camp.
Palin can attract the "evangelicals" who were threatening to break with the party unless there was some conciliation to their camp.
Palin can attract voters who vote on the basis of "nice hair" or "pretty eyes", which is a sentiment which made up part of what put Bill Clinton in office, and cannot be underestimated, no matter how stupid it is..
Palin makes a very ugly McCain have something nicer to look at in his photo-ops. Arm candy.
Palin is younger, so she has a better chance of connecting with the younger vote demographic which makes up alot of Obama's support.

And Palin is not terribly sophisticated in the ways of Washington DC, so they can "play her like a fiddle", and she might not even realize it, or know how to work against it.

So, she's what the Neocons want to try to get their war candidate into office. They couldn't give 2 shits about her. All they care about is what could help get their war-monger into office.
