*** McCain might NOT be attending convention ***
I just talked to a cabbie in Minneapolis and he was told that in the event that if the storm/hurricane hits any of the coastal states, McCain will not be at the convention, BUT the convention will continue without him. I asked him twice, just to make sure I heard him correctly. Has this ever happened before at a convention where the nominee is not present? I know the RNC already probably has everything set in stone the way they want it, but if McCain is'nt there, could this possibly allow the delegates to have a stronger voice against McCain?

Pretty much set in stone. Yeah.
Last winter I got an e-mail message from GOP outfit. I was asked to attend the RNC to see John McCain get nominated. ...and so goes the game.

It
is possible irrespective of what happens witht he hurricane that McCain may not be present the few first days, just like Obama was also not present at the DNC till the end.
Will his daughter be screaming, "HI, DADDY!"?

The whole thing is a set up
Everyone said, when we were first trying to win the primaries, that the convention had to take a roll call vote for the nomination. Then I see at the Dem Convention, that they can just shout down anyone who demands the vote and declare the nominee by "acclamation". Neocons and Demagogues don't follow any laws, let alone party rules. It's all a farce. Without divine intervention, the CFR stooge will be nominated. It has been completely useless trying to use the "system" to our advantage. They cheated us fair and square. We never had a chance.
Yeah, if they had only been caught cheating while cheating....
.... then we could say something. But since they cheated fairly, oh, well......
Cheated Fairly?
Methinks not they used Nazi style tactics.
Man was born to be free and independent
Uh, well
Not to question the veracity of your source, but...well, okay; to question the veracity of your source. I'm not entirely convinced a cabbie would necessarily be "in the know" as to whether InSane would or would not attend the convention, should the weather get wild. A Magic 8-Ball might be about as accurate.
But that may be interesting to keep in mind, particularly in light of this: remember all those reports of various and sundry Republican Representatives and Senators being told that they "don't need to attend" the GOP convention, and that they'd be better off staying home and running their campaigns for re-election? There were a lot of those stories...
Cab drivers are the premier source of McCain information.
Garbage men for Bush, horse manure shoveler for Cheney, cabby's for McCain. Makes sense to me.
