Stuck at the airport on my way to R4R! Let's Talk DP

I beat the airport ... they rescheduled me and gave me a standby ticket but i made sure i got there 100 hours early and was the first in line to get any available seats ...

i met this disabled gentleman who was very nice and kind and we talked about Ron Paul since I had a big sticker on my luggage

one of the TSA guys saw ron paul on my luggage and smiled and gave me a thumbs up "Ron Paul 08" he said

and another cute girl saw ron paul on my bad and smiled and started talking to her parents about him

Are you still at the airport? I was wondering where you were from since you were in DC 7/12 and 4/15 I was at both too. I will be at R4R also! Flying in tommorrow. (nervous have'nt flown in 33 yrs) Where are you from? I'm Va. Wonder If we saw each other in DC? I was carrying a red sign with white letters thats said Campaign for Liberty.com with 2 friends with signs. Restore the Republic and Obey the Constitution my hubby was taking pictures.

wanted to say hi and was thinking since you were at the DC rally and going to this rally you could tell us which rally was your favorite. Maybe, write a thread after the rally comparing them. The information may be very helpful for future planning. I am so proud of the young people taking charge of their future. I really regret not knowing that our country was in such a pickle. It will be a sad day when they control the internet and we no longer have free speech. I have such a big mouth that I would surely get myself in trouble.

I rented a car last year for two weeks and didnt have to have my own insurance. It was Alamo.

uneasy with the airports so we went to Hertz and rented a car. It is funny when you order a "standard" vehicle on-line it is the least expensive but you are never guaranteed a certain type of car, you get what they have.
Divine providence gave us a brand new red mustang.... how Americana is that!!! The car looks great with the RP stickers and signs we put on. Still trying to mount the flags.
We will be leaving NY this afternoon traveling along route 80 to Minn. We expect to arrive for the celebration.
We are all excited to meet with Paulites again. The march was exciting.... Can't wait to get around a bunch of intelligent free thinking Americans again.

Aww Bunny I wish I was sitting there with you!!! I'm jealous but I'm glad you get to go! I heard a very funny rumor from a friend of mine who is E.T oriented. He says airports are E.T.'s favorite place to hang out. See if you can spot one for me!
Here's another funny airport story: A few years ago I was waiting for my flight with my husband. Being an avid reader I was entrenched in a good novel and my bored husband got up and walked around went to the bathroom, got a snack etc... When he returned i reached out and scratched his back like I always do after about 3-5miinutes I hear this unfamiliar voice tell me "Umm I'm not your husband you know..." I look up to see this unfamiliar guy with a very chagrined smile on his face! He said "I actually didn't want to say anything but the consequences might have been way worse." Luckily it gave us something to laugh and talk about for the rest of our wait and it's still a live joke between my husband and I when we travel. Good luck Bunny and report back when you're done!

#4 - Presently, if you're in a seat that has a large, sweaty person on one side of you and a non-stop talker on the other side of you, you can get up, walk off, and find another seat far away. Appreciate that now, while you can.

#3 - Shop and compare: look at the prices of items in the airport gift shops; then do online searches to compare prices via other venues. Make note of any special bargains you happen across.

#2 - People watching: as you see your fellow travellers, make up stories in your mind about where they're going and why; what adventures they might be on and how one traveller might be somehow related to another traveller they don't even know (good fodder for fiction writing -- your bestseller may bloom from hours sitting in a waiting lounge!)

...and the Number One thing you can do while you're sitting around waiting?

all will be fine. Our 15 year old daughter flew to Norway all by herself this summer...connecting flights in Chicago and Sweden. If she can do it...you can too. Shout out to Norway ....you stole my child's heart!
