Increase the price of oil 5.) Good PR for Bush and McCain to go and show their "support" for the hurricane victims. 6.) Kill the coverage of any protestors events.

Sometimes storms are very unpredictable though, so maybe this one will turn it's fury on those that think they can take advantage of it for nefarious reasons.

no convention not only gives the excuse for old manipulated media not to report anything on the other activities, it gives the rnc 2 things:

1. being free not to be put on the spot and be seen how they will deal with the protesters, the other convention, and what have you. it is a tightrope walk where any response from them is potentially catastrophic;

2. having a reason by the old manipulated media to make them look "patriotic" or "caring" about the potential hurricane victims. this story will be spun like crazy, like a soap opera drama unfolding, so that any other story can conveniently be buried--this story aims to be the "loudest in the room" to make these people look good in the eyes of ordinary americans.

this is a setup guys, plain and simple. the hurricane might not be,[haarp is a possibility]; but what ever did happen, this situation will be used as another "show" for the public.

remember that the issue of the protestors, the war, the economy, were all "eclipsed" in the democratic convention by the "emotional" declaration and appeal by hillary to support obama--an "unprecedented" call for unity---this is the shit being sold outside america, this is the script being peddled. the mccain "being a hero" effort to prioritize hurrican potential disaster victims is soap opera for the american public and the world

the storm is a diversion,McCain has already called off all activities at the Convention except what is needed to get him elected.He's calling Chicken Little the sky is falling to distract and prevent a floor vote.And that's probably just the tip of the iceberg.

Not worried a bit about the storm. Hoping for cooler weather. What, isn't McCain sure whether or not he owns a home in New Orleans? Our so-called Republican leaders pretending to be concerned for thier fellow citizens, to make up for the dismal failure over Katrina.

Please be aware that as of today, according to the Alley at the GOP Convention Organizers headquarters, there is no date set for a floor nomination at the RNC. Actually, it appears there never was a date set. Please get the word out to the RP delegates!!!!!

I called the GOP organizers today, 651-467-2728 , and was told the reason that no date is being released for the floor vote is due to concerns over hurricane Gustav. I asked why the date for the floor vote wasn’t previously released in their press release of 8/27, Country First: 2008 RNC Announces Full Program, that is listed on their website at www.gopconvention2008.com , prior to when the hurricane became an issue. Simply no mention of any part of the business meeting and why the delegates are coming there!

I was told that a lot of things are just up in the air right now but the date “can’t” be released and then she said I could call the press release line at 651-467-2728 to get more information. I asked why would I do that when she just told me that the date “can’t” be released? She didn’t have an answer and so I thanked her and hung up.

Why isn't this being asked by the media? Oh, I know why. Pray hard everyone! I think I hear Suspension of Convention coming, but only after they convene. This is a requirement to get McCain nominated. Get it? Just that they convene, not that they vote on anything!!!!
